Don’t get drawn in and fooled by this flashy nail salon! And don’t get fooled by the “happy hour” discount...they won’t honor it and will argue with you about your arrival time! Seriously!! They are not any better than any other nail salon in this area and I have been to several. Techs are very rushed because I’m sure they have a certain daily quota to fill. They a full-service bar, but you are limited as to the number of alcoholic beverages allowed, which isn’t a big deal. A big deal to me is a place that cares about customer satisfaction....this place does not! The manager would rather lose a customer rather than trying to make things right. Treated myself today. Once again Natalie at onyx nail bar in frisco did an amazing job!!! She is the best nail tech I have ever had. Gonna have her do my watermelon nails this summer! My pedicure was decent but I didn’t receive the manicure that I asked for. The man seemed rushed the whole time and only did the next gen portion, not the massage or anything else. I was there with a group and told him I’d pay at the end but he insisted I pay then. When I told the front desk they asked me if I was sure I didn’t receive the correct manicure, as if they didn’t believe me until I showed them my hands with no lotion. At that point they refunded $8, the difference between the 2 manicures, but never offered to make it right. :( Read Less

I came here less than a week ago for a gel manicure after I received two separate recommendations to come here. Everyone was very friendly, but my gel polish completely peeled off my nails after 4-5 days. Usually a gel manicure will last me at least 2 weeks, and I was so upset that I didn’t get even a full week out of mine, especially because it was one of the most expensive gel manicures I’ve had in the area. I have been going here since the day it opened! I was always raving about the service and how amazing this place was! TODAY, my service sucked and my nails look terrible! I felt like I was being rushed and the technician didn’t even take the time to listen to what I requested! I wanted coffin nails but he told me my nails were too short! I like the place and the people are nice, but I’m not pleased with my fingernails. I got chrome less than a week ago and it looks like I had it done months ago. They started peeling within two days. I went back once to have one of them redone and it looked nothing like the rest of them. Now, the one I had redone looks just as bad as the others. My feet came out nice with regular polish, though. Not sure what happened today. Heard so many great things about this place, so had to check it out. Went in around 3:30pm on a Wednesday. Only 8 people max there. Was slow to get helped. Took 2 hours to get nails done, the man who did my nails cut me bad enough that he had to get an antiseptic, and my nails didn't even look good. I asked for a French manicure nex gen, but just got one color. Nails were coated so thick that it went over the nail beds. Still paid full price and tipped. Not impressed. This is my second bad experience at this nail salon. The first time my next gen nails we're butchered, they were lumpy and uneven. When I complained, the worker said that it was just the lighting . I had to FIGHT with him to fix his mistakes. It was so obvious, that the host came over and gave me a $10 gift card to come back and give them another chance. That brings us to today. Henry was giving me a pedicure and he cut a chunk out of my big toe while trimming around the nai...l. I told him he cut me and it was hurting. He nodded after I told him twice that he cut me. Fast forward to check out. I told the hostess that I got a cut when she asked me how my service was. I was concerned about infection, so the manager was brought over. When she brought Henry over, he had the nerve to say he did not do this!! He told her that I came in with that chunk out of my big toe, like I would go in for a pedicure with an open cut. I am appalled that this man basically called me a liar!! I told him that I stopped him twice, and he acted like I was crazy. I said that I was never coming back to Onyx, and I'm going to make darn sure that as many people as possible know about their horrible service. Update: I got my nails better matched, it's not perfect, but it's in the same shade range! Everyone here is seriously nice. I still think it's a must go, just make sure you check your polishes if you are trying to match! ------------- I really enjoyed my experience. It is very clean and nicely decorated. I'd say the service is the best I have had out of all of the nail salons I have been to, but I have one issue. I purposefully chose a nex gen color that had a matching poli...sh for my toes. My nails are a rose/blush color, #62. The front desk girl told me there was a perfect match for my toes, I am not sure what happened but my toes turned out light salmon pink, and my nails are a rose. I give 2 stars for effort. They do treat you well here. It's a shame they hire awful nail techs that do their beautiful establishment a disservice. I wanted to love this place so much. But I've been there twice now for both ombré nexgen nails and pedicures. Polish job on pedicures both times have been extremely sloppy. My 1st nail appointment he didn't listen to anything I ask for and just did what he wanted. He cut all my nails off when I said I didn't want any length off. ...Not to mention every nail was a different length. The next visit my new tech noticed they were all uneven and she kept bragging she was the best tech there. She seemed to be overly hyper and sloppy with everything she did.
