I’ve never been one to be a “regular” at a nail salon until I started going to Onyx. You can’t compete with their level of service. Even if the technicians I regularly see aren’t available, I have no issue seeing someone new because I know my nails will turn out perfect. Was not thrilled. My nail tech seemed unhappy and didn’t do the best job on my dipped nails. I left with powder all over my nails beds and powder under my nails. When I told her, she just responded that I needed to wash my hands.....which id already done. I paid almost $60 for basic dip nails. Which I think is overpriced. The breakdown was that they charged me $17 for a manicure and $40 for the dip. I don’t recall getting a full manicure, unless you call doing a half ass cuticle cut at the very end a manicure. For $60 I could’ve gotten a mani and pedi at any other salon. Really disappointed with this place because it was walking distance from my apartment. Looks like I’m on the hunt for a better nail salon, with nicer employees, and better prices. Read Less

Great first visit! Went with a friend who has been going there for years. Got a really fantastic pedicure from Tran (I think that was his name) and my toes look perfect! I'll be going back for a gel manicure with Ivy, after I saw the great job she did with my friend's nails. The cocktails were the icing on the cake! Read Less

This is my regular nail spot, literally here every two weeks, and I've never had any issues. However today my mani and pedi took two hours, and it was the worst experience I've ever had here. I asked for my nails to be shorter multiple times, and now they're all different lengths and not shorter. She also had to redo my thumb nail due to a bubble, and there's already another one. You can see the stroke marks in the clear polish on several nails, and I have bubbles on other nails too. My toes have nail polish caked in the beds from her not cleaning up the excess polish before they dried. They also charged me additional to file my nails in the exact same shape they were already in, and this isn't a consistent charge since it's the first time I've seen this charge added to my bill. After this experience I don't know if I'll be going back. Read Less

The service here is terrible. A friend told me about the place and I thought I'd try it out. Asides the nice interiors, there's nothing positive here. The staff are not pleasant or friendly I initially wanted to do a dipping polish and then changed my mind to get a regular mani pedi. The lady that attended to me Petuia became very mean in her body language. I asked for juice and she gave me water. When I mentioned it was juice I requested, she went and got it without a straw.... I had to ask for a straw which she picked with the same gloves she just used to do my pedicure! She had nothing positive to say. Every request I made was followed with: That would cost you another $5 or $4. I felt like they only wanted my money and did not care at all about my satisfaction. After doing my nails, Petuia left me in the chair without telling me what was next, she also made sure she swiped my card before she finished doing my nails so she could conveniently leave me there and move on to another customer. Her lame excuse being - "So your nails don't get smudged". She had my money and so I was no more important. Before my nails were dry, the guy at the door hurriedly told me to leave the chairs causing me to smudge my nail paint. No apologies were given for the extra time spent or the shoddy job they did in touching up the paint. I would rate them -100 if I could. Very horrible service, they treat customers like objects they just want to get money from. Petuia even told me that time is money. The actual salon is very clean and well set up. The front desk reception lady from yesterday was extremely nice and accommodating. She sat me down and offered a beverage while letting me know that it will be a few minutes before someone would be there to do my manicure. The nail tech came over about 20 minutes later and was clearly not very enthusiastic about being at work that day. There were a few sentences change between she and I throughout my entire manicure. I don't typically like for someone to be over talkative during my visit to a nail spa, however I do expect for you to at least ask me how my day was. I've been having manicures and pedicures for several years now. I live in San Antonio and have gone to a few places there. I've been to a few places in Dallas and several places in New York City where I used to live. I'm so glad that my friend suggested Onyx a couple of years ago. Now, every trip to Dallas, I make sure to book an appointment. I especially like Vincent (I always ask for him), but I've gone with several friends at a time and they're always equally happy with all the technicians. I appreciate being remembered, though I don't come to Dallas more than a few times each year. I appreciate the attention to each part of the manicure and pedicure. My nails look great, I feel good, and I always recommend Onyx to my friends in Dallas (and to a friend in San Antonio, who now always visits each time he's in Dallas). Read Less
