I went for a lower half leg wax which their website says will the £10, I was charged £15 and when I refuted that the website priced it at £10 I was given a very poor and unbelievable story about how the website belongs to the old owner and they have no way to change it or take it down. The rudest receptionist i have ever had the displeasure of speaking to. Started when booking the appointment on the phone, she was abrupt, rude and patronising. When i arrived she asked me to pay before i'd even had time to take my coat off, let alone had my nails done!! When i said i would prefer to pay once ive had my nails done, she got rude and slammed my loyalty card on the technicians table. I said to the technician that she is a very rude woman, she overheard and told me to get out!! I was about to leave anyway as this experience was not a relaxing one but horrific. As i was leaving i told her she lacks customer service skills and she threatened to call the police!! Do not go here, if she is prepared to speak to her customers like this i dread to think how she treats her staff, they looked very intimidated by her. Dreadful!! I was scolded on my foot with boiling water from the hose in the pedicure chair, the woman could not regulate the temperature at all. She did not use any cuticle cream/oil on my nails before she cut the cuticle only water and used the water from the foot soak to massage!! Totally rushed and unprofessional, I will not be going back! Hammer nails with drills every time. To the point of not wanting to remove previous application of shellac or sns correctly but instead with drills. The last time I went there was over a year ago and I vowed not to go back as the guy doing my nails came out the back whilst still eating his lunch whilst doing my nails. Gave it another go and left with nails hammered by drills and left wrecked as a result. Read Less

I have been going to Hollywood Nails for a number of years and unfortunately my recent experiences have been poor. I used to come out happy with both the service and the finished job, but on the last couple of visits the service has been very rushed (even when the salon wasn't busy), and my nails have been done to a very poor standard. Today I came home with nail varnish around my nails and rough edges on a couple of nails. The technician was also rushing so much that she cut my cuticle and drew blood. I had popped in without an appointment, never having been here before for a hollywood wax. The receptionist told me to go downstairs where the treatment was to be carried out. Briefly greeted by the woman, she told me to undress in the first room. Everything up till this point was fairly normal, until she started! Firstly, the wax they use for each treatment is extremely unhygienic! It is a roll on wax applicator that has been used on God knows how many people! And for that same roll on applicator to be used on my bikini area was extremely alarming! There was residue still left from previous customers and nothing was done in cleaning the applicator before/after use. Just put back on the heating plug ready for the next person. This wax is a cheap alternative to strip waxes that most salons use in the maidenhead region. Not only did she make me bleed, she continued to use this firm wax that hadn't been heated properly over the open wounds. The pain I had gone through for the next three days was unimaginable. It was painful to be wearing underwear. I will never recommend this salon to anyone who requires a waxing treatment. Read Less

I went to Hollywood nails for the first time yesterday for some waxing. When I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly receptionist, who directed me to the downstairs salon.With my first impressions being fairly good, my expectations were heightened. Little did I realise that it would all go downhill from here.During the waxing, the beautician made no effort in talking to me. This didn't worry me too much as I was nervous about the waxing anyway.I was informed that the full leg and bikini line waxing should take about 45 minutes on average. When the waxing only took 10 minutes, I was rather alarmed. The beautician asked me to get dressed and meet her in the next room for her to thread my eyebrows (which she actually did a good job with). When I went to pay, I was informed that there was no card machine and they only accept cash, even though there were no signs up to say so. I had to run across the street to get the money out. I realised after paying that there was also a sign up outside the window saying £5 off when you spend £30 or more. Now as my total amount came to £33, I should have received this offer... But I didn't.Because I felt she was rushing me, I didn't have time to check my legs and bikini line until I got home. The beautician had left several patches on both legs and also bikini-it's like she had just done at it instead of doing her job properly!I tried to find an email address to write to them but there is only a telephone number advertised so I can't even complain unless I go directly into the salon.Not impressed.
