One of the friendliest nail salons I've been to, and for once my finger joints have been spared rough treatment! Had a flawless full set of acrylic extensions for a very reasonable price. The only downside was the lack of ventilation, but the great customer service from the family more than made up for the slight inconvenience. Will definitely be back. Read Less

A welcoming family business. I have been a customer for about 5 years now and I have never walked out unhappy. I've tried a few other places over the years due to moving house or being away for work but the results are never as good. I have a range of different services from full sets or shellac to relaxing spa pedicures where I can feel zen like in the massage chair. These guys are fantastic and have mastered their craft. Excellent quality. Unlike other salons, acrylic nails done here don't bulge but are flat and natural looking. The edge at the base is smooth not ragged so they grow out neatly. They are very long lasting. The technicians are efficient - quite reserved but that's fine by me. Rude, unwelcoming and expensive. Refused to do a fill and insisted on a full set. Shortened my nails even when I asked her not to. It is a cash only business but has no sign up. Had to shape them myself afterwards because they did such a terrible job. Read Less

I have been here about 4 times now, every time having acrylics and then Infills. I have been happy with the out come most of the time. They are profetinal and know what they are doing. It's a couple that own the salon, the gentleman is very friendly and welcoming, but unfortunately his wife is not. I understand that maybe her English is maybe not as good as her husbands and I can sympathise with that conpletly.... Although my last experience which was a couple of days ago got me quite upset.... I walked in the salon and said hello and was instructed to take a seat.... The lady then commenced to do my nails after asking what I wanted, which was to soak of my old acrylics and get a new set. She was very dismissive when I complimented her on her shop as it had been redecorated and looked good. I know she interacts in a friendly manor with her customers as I have seen her do it with others but for some reason she doesn't like me or my custom. She proceeded to take of my old nails, I explained to her that my nails are super dannaged and need to be treats with extra care, hence best to use a nail file. I can take pain and never complain if it hurts but on this occasion as she used the drill it was very painful and as a human reaction To pain I pulled my hand away then apologising to her and saying it wasn't her fault it's me. At this point she got extremely angry, then shouts at me! I then say I'm not trying to offend her and try to explain calmly that it hurts. She was then yelling in Vietnamese to her husband, he then proceeded to do my nails, it really shook me up so instead of having a new set I had shellac instead that I didn't really want. They guy was really friendly to me and calmed my nerves. The outcome of the shellac was okay but not what I wanted at all. I have been going to Galaxy nails for 3 years now to get painted acrylic extensions. The couple who run Galaxy Nails are extremely welcoming, friendly people, although with English not being their first language, I think people mistake them for being rude. I am always offered a cup of tea, and they always make a point of asking me how university and work are going. The Nails I receive I consider to be impeccable. For £25 for the removal and replacement of a full set, I did not initially expect much, but the nails are always thin whilst still remaining durable, painted very well, and cause minimal damage to my natural nail. I have also asked for some quite tricky nail art before, and the lady has always achieved a beautiful result. I think it is also worth noting that I have never had a nail snap or begin to peel away in 3 years, despite my nails taking quite a beating at my bar job, and them being very long. Yes the shop is not the most glamorous of places, but with friendly staff, cheap prices, and wonderful, long lasting acrylics, I see a visit to Galaxy Nails as an absolute steal. Read Less
