This salon is by far one of the most professional, welcoming salons I've ever been to. Not only are the staff extremely professional in the jobs they do, but certainly look the part too. I got married on the 24th June 2017. My mother and I made appointments at Anthea Walker beauty salon to have our nails done on the Thursday before the wedding(22nd June). We both had gel nails and our toes were done too. The therapist who did our feet - named Bianca, noticed I have very dark elbows which I have inherited from my father. She begged me to allow her to do an elbow peel. Basically, she applied an acid to my elbows which she reassured repeatedly was very mild and ...would lighten my elbows for my wedding in 2 days. My mother and I were both very hesitant but reluctantly agreed to it which we will regret for the rest of our lives. My wedding obviously had us very excited and made us lose perspective. That coupled with Bianca’s multiple reassurances that the peel would be absolutely harmless. Bianca applied the peel and then proceeded to take a file and harshly filed my elbows and the surrounding skin. She pushed and scraped so hard the emery file broke. I told her it was sore and burning and she continued to file. She finished off by telling me the pain was normal and I should make sure to moisturise often. On my wedding day, I was repeatedly asked if I had fallen and grazed my elbows because they were so red and scratched. You only get married once and I am heartbroken that my special day had me with red and grazed elbows. My mother emailed Anthea Walker on the 27 June detailing the full extent of my injuries. She added photos too, to show how bad my elbows are. No response. I did not want to post this on social media without trying another way of contacting Anthea Walker salon – so I contacted them on Facebook as it also shows if the messages are read. My messages to Anthea Walker were read and ignored yesterday. Hurting my elbows and flat out ignoring communication thereafter in regard.
