I had my hair chemically straightened and ended up getting a chemical hair cut in the crown of my hair. I was not told by anybody at the time and have only seen it now a large part of my hair missing....
I had my hair chemically straightened and ended up getting a chemical hair cut in the crown of my hair. I was not told by anybody at the time and have only seen it now a large part of my hair missing. I am really disappointed. Not only that while getting the chemical treatment washed out of my hair, the hairdresser was not paying attention to her job and wash the chemicals and water all in to my eyes. I have to jump up getting water all over myself. I then had to sit in wet clothing for the rest of my treatment. This is totally unacceptable and unsafe work practice. I have given this salon a second chance after my first bad experience.
Amy's Hair Design was professional in my opinion and have ruined my hair and have ended up costing me alot already to fix there mistake! I would not ever go there again or recommend it to anyone.

Just came out of Amy's with an amazing haircut. Showed up 20 min early and was welcomed and seated right away.
The haircut was quick and I got exactly what I asked for - highly recommend!

Had a good experience for a manicure. Staff was friendly and did a good job on cuticles, shaping, etc. I would definitely go back. Picture taken the day after my treatment. I was at a high end day spa the day after the treatment and the day spa staff commented that my manicure was very good.

I would of given 5 stars however it took longer than expected as it was busy and sometimes I felt like I was forgotten. A bit more communication would help that feeling go away . Looking forward to coming back more often. Thanks again!

I bought the Groupon voucher for a gel manicure, great value for money and the lady has done a beautiful job with the gel. The only negative I have is that even though I had booked an appointment, she was doing my nails at the same time as someone elses - so it took a lot longer than it should and there was lots of waiting around for her to come back to me. Must have been short staffed, but an explanation would have been nice as a courtesy. But I'm happy with the gel manicure so that's the main thing!

I went in to get Acrylic nails done and the lady who did them, was grinding my nail down and did it far enough for it to actually burn my skin!! This happened twice. Then if that wasn't bad enough as ...
I went in to get Acrylic nails done and the lady who did them, was grinding my nail down and did it far enough for it to actually burn my skin!! This happened twice. Then if that wasn't bad enough as the lady was cutting my nails with the nail clippers and cut my skin in resulting in my nail bleeding( small about if blood but still blood ) I also have a cast on my arm and she was being extremely rough with my hand (moving it around and filling my nails after I asked her many times to be gentle) and on top of all of this...she made my acrylics way shorter than I wanted!! I said I didn't want to pay full price for this as I was completely unhappy with this whole experience and all I was offered was $5 off.

Best experience ever I was booked in with Nicola to get my hair chemically straighten last Friday but someone else took over forgot to ask for her name but she did such an awesome job and it was my first time as well so I was quite hesitant but at the end it was worth it thanks heaps definitely go back again :)

They washed my hair, then I had to wait for 40 minutes before they even touched it. Seems as though they will take appointments from anyone who asks, to the detriment of other customers. Would have been reasonably okay with their slackness, but I also got the WORST haircut I have ever had - they cut my fringe too far back into my hair, ruining my efforts to grow out my layers and I had to go next door and ask them to fix the cut. Do not go here at any cost!

I couldn't recommend Amy's hair design enough! Awesome staff who are so friendly, knowledgeable and give great advice when you're unsure about the details of your cut/colour. The last time I was there I sat beside a lady who flys in from Christchurch to get Amy's permanent straightening as she said it's the absolute best in the country and I agree -Amy's is an absolute gem of a salon. Very happy with my cut and highlights, will definitely see you next time, thanks so much!
