I bought a groupon for a “powder gel set.” I got this service done yesterday, and not only am I disappointed, I am livid about how horrible my experience was. First, I explain to the lady I want matte black nails. She says it will be an additional $8 for regular polish (sooo the groupon meant I was going to leave the salon with JUST a set of gel nails?!....what?!) or $14 for shellac. I opted for shellac, as I was already expecting to have to pay extra for it. Secondly, the l...ady nicked my skin, not once, but twice on one finger. I had to beg her to use rubbing alcohol on it right away as it was now an open wound. She complained she’d have to file my nail down again because the rubbing alcohol made my nail wet. I’m sorry, but that is NOT how you treat clients when you injure them. I really should’ve upped and walked out at that point but I was too stubborn because that’d mean I’d lose the $30 I spent on the groupon. Now, we fast forward to payment. So she explains I owe tax for the groupon, which is fine. An extra $14 for shellac, and then... $5 for matte? Now wouldn’t it have been logical for her to tell me this when she was explaining polish pricing the moment I asked for matte black in the first place? I pointed out I didn’t appreciate the deceit, and took my change. She THEN had the courage to point out I hadn’t left a tip. No, I tip generously even when people do a mediocre job. But I’m sorry, not only did she hurt me physically, she also lied to me, and was very rude about it when I pointed it out. This place does not deserve business. Very very disappointed.
