I’ve read all the bad reviews on here and gave them the benefit of the doubt. But they are as bad as what everyone says. I’m a nail technician myself and the way they took off my gel polish is a nightmare to look at. My nails are weak and you can see all the damage on my nails from pulling the gel off. If I could give less than one star I would! DON'T GO NEAR THIS PLACE! I was not aware how terrible this place and deeply regret going. A friend shouted me a pedicure as a birthday gift and I ended up with a nail fungus which has resulted in two of my nails falling off. DO NOT EVER GO HERE. I went here recently to get acrylics. I didn't want them too long, but the nail technician couldn't speak much english. One of my nails is a bit crooked. I was happy with how my nails turned out overall, but customer service is extremly poor. (Upstairs professional) I sincerely urge you DO NOT go get your nails done here. Absolutely appalled with my nail job. I went in to do a simple acrylic removal. As I have done in the past I usually get them soaked off which is a lot more less painful then how this guy done it. I hadn't had them on for long so they were still pretty secure, And he comes in and starts flicking them off with some plastic tool. It was when he got to my last nail (thumb) that was the worse he ended up ripping the acrylic and aswell as a chunk of my actual thumb nail it started to bleed everywhere. Downstairs. Lighter and more open than upstairs. Been going for years and have been well looked after. Good job and will do what you need when asked. Good massage of feet and lower legs. (Upstairs riccarton) worst customer service ever! And terrible quality! I went in today to get my nails fixed as after a week of having them done 3 snapped in half, I was told I didn't have them done a week ago by one extremely rude lady, she continued to argue with me for about 5 minutes telling me I was wrong whilst grabbing my hand aggressively, she eventually got her manager who began to argue with me also, she told me 'let me see your receipt then' ummm I don't keep receipts after getting my nails done because they should be decent quality and shouldn't snap after 2-7 days of being done.... so instead I showed her my bank statement proving her wrong and even then she continued to make rude comments about it being my fault because my nails grew too fast! Eventually she said that they would replace my 3 snapped and broken nails, the lady repairing them for me was rough and made my cuticle bleed, once agin I left unsatisfactory as my replaced nails are bumpy and extremely thin and sharp. Never been so disappointed with customer service in my life, I've never heard a manager speak to a customer in such a disgusting manor before. Will never be returning again! (Riccarton downstairs) - got my first ever manicure 3 days ago, but was not a very pleasant experience. Employees and customer service have extremely limited English, so communication is difficult. If you are going for your first manicure I would suggest researching prior, as asking for advice and information at this store only ends in confusion. The language barrier adds embarrassment and made me feel slightly anxious, as there was no conversation. I was originally very happy with my manicure, but instead of chipping, the polish is already peeling at the sides and top, rather than at the tip of the nail. Not really sure why this would happen. No base coat is applied before polish, and cuticles are trimmed! I thought the polish would last longer than it did, as I haven't done anything that would cause the manicure to chip greatly. Girl took her time (a little too long, an hr for a fill ) and did a great job but charged me $45 for a FILL!!! I paid $45 when I got the full set from scratch. Will not be returning there. If I wanted to pay $45 again I would have taken the nails off and started from scratch again... Read Less

Worst pedicure of my life. I asked for the spa pedicure ($50) and the horrible experience started there. The nail polishes were terrible; chunky, thick, and old. The woman was flustered by people coming in without appointments and she flew through my (should have been) relaxing experience. She massaged me like she was squeezing lemons, barely pumiced my feet, and kept grunting and complaining to her coworker. The paint job was laughable - a 5 year old could have done a bette...r job. When it came time to pay she became very annoyed I was paying with a card and gave me a hard dirty look. They have a sign that says they only take tips in cash, which was fine with me because I had no intention of paying a dollar more for their disgusting service. Worst place ever. My sister went for a Mani-pedi and I went for a pedicure and a fill. We walked in and weren't even greeted. Finally sat down and started getting our toes done. There wasn't enough workers to do mine and my sisters at the same time. The water was cold, no massage chairs. They didn't let our feet soak long enough so she was ripping our cuticles off. They were talking about us, right in front of us (In English). Our toes came out OK. Next was our nails, the wom...an criticized my sister about how short her nails were. The woman tried to convince me to get a Gel manicure. I said no I want to stick to acrylic. After she tried pushing it on me about 5 more times and after removing my polish, filing my nails down and doing everything she tells me they don't do acrylic. So I figured since it was half done, I'll settle for gel. They wanted to charge me $40 for a fill. Yup, $40 for a gel fill when it could spend $13 for a acrylic fill elsewhere. I told them there was no way I was spending $40 on a fill. My sister was drying her nails and the woman wanted me to pay IMMEDIATELY. She charged me $70. And $75 if I paid with a card... WHAT? $5 EXTRA to use my card ? Are you kidding me? They were WAY overpriced. Of course they had an ATM where you could get cash and save yourself $5. But you'd be socked money either way for using the ATM not associated with your bank. The staff was rude, they are too pricey and I will NEVER go back there. Came here for the first time to get a pedicure and the service was incredible; I got a "classic" pedicure which felt like much more. I got a awesome long leg/foot massage, hot rocks, and to top it off hot wax on the heels. Just when you think it's over they give you a shoulder massage when your nails dry!!!!! Great customer service ! I went in at 5.... they close @6. Basic pedi was great for the price. She shaped and polished my toes like a pro should. She even wrapped my toes after drying because I wore sneakers and forgot my flip flops. Gel polish was done with care and I left feeling satisfied. I couldn't really relax because they were multi tasking on my hands and feet, otherwise I would have given today's service 5 stars. Not bad coming from a picky stylist, nail tech, and salon owner .
