I only just read all the other reviews (should've done that before) and the only thing that makes me feel better is that everyone has had the same (very poor) experience. I too was treated like a piece of meat, all they wanted was to finish with me as soon as possible, and none of the staff even acknowledged my presence at all. The lady doing my pedicure did not make eye contact or say hi, just grabbed my foot and started off. The manicurist made a face when she saw my sneakers and said that if I didn't have slippers then I'd have to walk out with bare feet with my nails wet (implying that I couldn't stay until they were dry). They both did something in the name of nail grooming (very quickly, very crudely and with least interest), then quickly led me to the drying station, where my purse, jacket, scarf and shoes were literally thrown on the ground next to me. Throughout, all the staff members kept talking VERY loudly in their language, even my manicurist, while servicing me and standing just inches away. The manicurist also told me to 'relax my hands' in a very annoyed tone, as if she was saying it for the umpteenth time and I was too stupid to understand. When I had sat at the drying station for over 20 minutes and prepared to leave, the manicurist made a face at me again and said "if you want to go, upto you" very coldly, instead of saying that I should wait longer for the nails to dry. Oh, and when I said bye, she kept looking at her phone and said bye. And no, during all of this, they were not busy at all, the place was empty. And now I know why. These bad reviews have clearly not made a damn difference to them or their owner. I'm writing this so that no one else wastes their time and money there. I'm giving them one star because zero stars is not an option. I believe the other branches of Professionail are no better. I'm not going to go test them myself, that's for sure. Read Less

Very dissapointed with my experience at this nail salon. After only 6 days of getting my nails done they were peeling/chipping off. I went back to get them fixed and Sophia refused to offer to fix them for free. I then asked to have them all removed so I could go elsewhere and she said I would have to pay to have them removed. She was aggressive with her tone. She blamed me and assumed it was because I "could have been working harder"??? I've been getting my nails done for over a year and they have never easily peeled off so quickly. I have not changed my routine. She then blamed it on the color I chose which also doesn't make sense as I always get light colours. When I suggested that it could have been the application of the nails she did not agree. It was only after I asked for the managers details that she agreed to remove them for free. I absolutely won't be returning to this salon. This salon also charges more than other nearby salons. Went in today for my grab one mani pedi, hands down the best customer service Iv received in auckland so far. Good conversation, lovely ladies, very efficient, after my pedi I realised I wore sneakers and didn't wana risk smudging anything so jokingly said il need a bag for my shoes n go buy jandals , the lovely lady doing my mani told me I can keep my pedi slippers on, did not charge me anything for them, lovely gesture. Have only been here on a voucher that might explain their absolute terrible customer service!! The main manager was rude right from the start and as an added bonus kept having lengthy non English conversations with the rest of the staff and laughing, clearly talking about us. When she did my nails she tugged and pulled on my hands so hard and yelled at me for shaking my hands too much when i was talking to my friend. The nail job itself is ok not the best, can still my nail underneath as there isn't enough layers. For the price i guess it is ok but def do not recommend Read Less

I received a voucher for xmas and after reading some of the reviews I wasn't really looking forward to my appointment. I was very pleasantly surprised. I was about 5 minutes late to my appointment but was still welcomed nicely and asked to take a seat, about a minute later I was being prepped for my pedicure. The lady who was doing my nails was very friendly and made a real effort to engage in conversation. I had a really relaxing appointment and my mani and pedi both turned out beautifully. Decided to treat myself to a manicure today but unfortunately ended up having quite a terrible experience. Firstly, I had to wait 25mins, which I didn't really mind because it wasn't their fault that half of Auckland decided today was "nail day." But it just went downhill from there. I had to get my previous shellac manicure removed, but the lady forgot about me and the removal liquid was on my fingers for so long that I started feeling a burning sensation all around my nails, which was actually quite painful. Finally this was taken off and the lady began to paint my nails...with the wrong colour - so we started again. Then she received a phone call from her father, and then her husband and then about 2 or 3 other people. She was painting my nails while holding her phone between her head and shoulder and this is quite evident in the finished product. Then her husband arrived midway through my manicure and she had to leave me to deliver a key to him. I felt she was in a huge rush and was pulling my hands and pushing them away when she was done quite aggressively. She was also yelling Chinese across the room to her colleagues in a very casual manner which just seemed quite inappropriate and un-"professionail". The room was also very stuffy and I heard a few other ladies also asking if there was any air conditioning that could be turned on. I had grocerys waiting in the car and was hoping to be in and out in under 30mins. 1hr45mins later, I was walking to my car, where I was greeted by warm milk and melted strawberries. And how much did I pay?...$50!!!! Will not be getting my nails done here again. Read Less

Came here with a voucher from GrabOne.  Made an appointment the day before and even though they were busy they started my mani/pedi on time.  Had a relaxing pedi followed by a mani all done by the same person.  They were putting in new massage chairs that day and the staff were quite keen to try them out.  However, the place could definitely use a sweeping, I wouldn't walk around without shoes! I usually chip my manis in a few days but I swear she used a top coat that has made it last little  longer.  Would definitely come back, especially with another voucher. Read Less

Fucking hell just thinking about my experience at professionail makes me want to cry. There is nothing professional about this place. It's like the fast food of nail places, utter shit. They have made my cuticles bleed and hurt my nails. It's crazy because they do it all so fast so that they get to the other customers. Such horrible service,  5 or more people can do your nails.Last time I went to professionails they ruined my eyebrows. The lady offered to do them and I shouldve said no but I said oh what could go wrong and everything went home. As she started waxing them I asked her to stop so I could see what she was doing.  Next thing I see I'm nearly eyebrowless I ask her what's happening and she starts apologizing. This isn't the kind of place I would come to but a friend of mine wanted to and she was paying so I said okay. I like doing my own nails and am pretty good at it so I don't pay for someone else to do it for me. If it was nail art, different story, I am not skilled in that area and that I would pay for but I was curious so I went. These places are packed, I am guessing because they are cheap. To have you toe nails painted for $20 and to have a foot spa and lower leg massage, that is very cheap. It felt like you were on a production line though, they get people in and out as soon as possible. They do what they do quite well and rather quick so if you actually wanted to pamper yourself I wouldn't go here, it isn't relaxing. I did not like the atmosphere. If you just want to come as part of nail maintenance and not pay too much then it would be good and you'd give it 4 stars but I didn't enjoy the experience. Read Less

I used to always always get my nails done (about every 3 weeks) and because of this I liked to go somewhere that didn't cost too much. ProffesioNAIL fit the bill, costing about 1/3rd less that other nail salons in my area. I do see why it costs less, the salons are filled with tables and usually have around seven asian staff members working at each time. They all speak to each other in their own language around clients and I could be being paranoid but I am pretty sure it was about me sometimes, they would laugh and look at me, which I thought was very unprofessional as it made me feel uncomfortable. Quite a few times, my fingers got cut when they were using their electric cuticle remover, which is basically like a tiny sandpaper block on a spinning mechanism. I'm also pretty sure they don't change the heads for each client either which is really un-hygienic. The end result did always look really nice, but I don't go anymore because the bad aspects weighed out the good I'm afraid. Read Less
