I've always liked this place and go here because their prices are good and reasonable and the service is good most days, until last time I had went when they had charged me almost $30 for a fill saying there was extra charges for shape and cut down....when i always get the same shape done. What am I paying for on a fill then? What's included in the fill charge before all of the "extra charges?" Kind of misleading especially when they don't tell you you're going to get charged extra for anything you ask for until after they finish your nails. Each time I go here to get a fill, I always get charged a different price....that's my main concern, and I don't get nail art or anything besides regular nail polish. This has only been my second time here but I am very satisfied with my nails. I used to go elsewhere and was unhappy with the service so I started doing my own. While on vacation in Chicago my step daughter treated me to a nail day, that is how I got hooked on gel instead of acrylic. When I came back I needed to find a salon to get my fill and my daughter in law told me about the Polished Nail bar. Jenny is sweet and a bundle of energy running around keeping things going. Yesterday I came in at 515 with my daughter Brooklyn for a 530 appointment. I left a 615 because I couldn't wait any longer. Patrons were taken before me however my daughter was being serviced. When the appointment was made we were told that Linda (who always does a good job) was my tech and I don't recall who my daughters tech was. Anyway I heard one of the girls state that we were told no one was specified. No biggy but untrue. My daughter was there on her hour lunch so whe...n she messed up her polish she said she would just come back tomorrow to get them fixed. She called the salon to tell them what had happened and that she was not satisfied with the shape of the nails and that they would be glad to schedule her an appointment with Jenny tomorrow. My daughter message Jenny to tell her what had happened and how long we waited and Jenny told her she would be glad to fix her nails for a additional fee. And that she should have waited instead of giving the staff a hard time. Nothing was said to the staff. I've been having my nails done for 30 something years and have never had to pay when I went back to have something to be fixed that I didn't like. That is not the way you do business in my eyes. We have referred so many people to your shop and to be treated this way is really unfortunate. We love the work you do but to be treated unfairly and have to wait an extended amount of time for something that was scheduled is not fair. My daughter told the staff that I had to get home and that I had family members to fix dinner for. I have four other children and that I could not wait any longer and they didn't like that. I can understand if we were a walk in but we were not. I must have caught this place on a bad day because I can not believe how many people gave 5 stars. I had an appointment that I showed up for early. Not only did they take a walk in before me, (after my appointment time) but I sat there for an additional 48 minutes until someone asked me if I wanted to get anything done. Not for nothing but I thought people make appointments for a reason. They had a group of people with the same appointment time in the waiting area, so how is that supposed to work? Needless to say, I wish I could have had a better experience, because I heard great things about this place and left with nothing. I was told my nails would cost $62 for both manicure and pedicure. My total bill was $90. To top it off, my skin on both my hands and feet are cut in several places. The lady who did my nails was rough and snarky. I won't be going back there. Read Less
