I have been at this place twice (to give a second chance) to get a manicure Shellac done and both times. The shellac chipped within 4 days - what a waste of money! Paid $45 for dip powder removal & shellac French manicure last Sunday and by Thursday 2 nails were already damaged. HORRIBLE customer service. Went there on my birthday and when the owner saw me (haven’t seen me in couple of months) called me FAT. Repeated it to me couple of times but brushed it off thinking cultural difference. Today, I called and they said ok to come in 30 minutes and when I did, they said they don’t have time for me and to leave. I had the most wonderful experience today at urban nails! a very lovely girl (maggie???) helped me with both pedicure and manicure. not only was the establishment extremely sanitary, I was treated with respect. While the ladies are very kind, I am very disappointed in the two times I came to this salon and I am sad that I have to write this negative review. The first time i came, the technician was so stingy with the UV powder that only half of my nail was re-filled, and two nails broke 3 days after. Furthermore, two nails had the UV gel polish peel right off after about 3-4 days. The second time I came I was hoping to give them a chance, as all the ladies are very kind.However, no...t only was my finger cut because the tech was filing so roughly and aggressively, there were NO MEASURES TAKEN TO DISINFECT THE OPEN CUT. I asked to wait a bit, but she did not clean or wait until the wound fully stopped bleeding, she rather continued to file and apply chemicals to my hands. Furthermore, I was the one checking the length and shape of my nails - all of the nails were different thicknesses and with varying shapes (one nail was slightly less narrow than a square and one right next to it was a stiletto, how does this happen?), and I took extra time to point out the nails to the tech to have her even them out. Made an appointment on a Saturday as a group of 4 for pedicures and the service was amazing! Lots of care was taken so we were comfortable and happy. The ladies here took the time to talk to us and it made us feel warm and welcomed. Pedicure chairs were very comfy and relaxing. My only complaint would be that the pedicure was a bit too short, but nonetheless, I would come back and recommend to anyone looking to get their feet done. My feet feel great! :) Read Less

Came in without an appointment and received amazing customer service from the moment I walked in! The wait time was not long at all, there were so many different colours to choose from, pricing is reasonable and the end result always makes me smile as I cannot stop starring at my nails afterwards! Best nail salon in KW. The girls aren't overly talkative which I actually appreciate as I want to relax when getting a mani/pedi. Clean, good colour choice and they even have a child's size chair if you want to bring your daughter in!Read Less

My mother-in-law and I made a same day appointment for a mani-pedi. We were running a bit late but they were happy to accommodate us. We had a wonderful experience. This was our first visit to Urban Nail Studio & Spa and only heard about it from signs placed on corners. I didn't know about this location and it's very close to where we live. HORRIBLE SERVICE! SUPER RUDE! I just want to start off by saying I have never left a bad review anywhere but I was so shocked by how I was treated. I have been to many nail salons and this was by far the most horrible experience I have ever had. I did not even get a chance to take off my jacket or pick a colour for my nails and this young lady named Anna? starts working away at my nails. Did not say hi or smile at all, just seemed very angry the whole time. I had shellac on t...hat needed to be taken off. She wrapped it in acetone for a total of 5 seconds and then proceeds to painfully take off the rest with an electric file even after all the shellac was gone. When asked about the length I would like, I ask for shorter than what she showed me, so she just stared at me like I asked for something crazy and then rolls her eyes at me. Same thing happened when I asked to file a sharp edge a little bit. To let me know she wanted me to place my hand under the lamp, she would just grunt and tap/push my hand. She gave me so much attitude for no apparent reason, rushed the whole thing, and seemed super impatient. I was so uncomfortable and just wanted it to be over. Do not recommend this place at all. I called and said I just wanted shellac, no manicure and was told $20, then she charged me $25 even though I told her I called ahead. Doesn't make sense that a manicure with shellac is only $5 more. They are over priced and my shellac started peeling in 4 days. The girl who did my nails wasn't talkative or friendly. Didn't seem to be enjoying her job. Read Less
