I am editing my previous post of only rating it two starts. Marci heard my concerns, and was determined to show me how great the services were at the beauty lounge. I was given an amazing facial by Charlotte, who was very experienced and knowledgeable about the Dermalogica products that she was using, and she walked me through every step she took and took the the time to get to know my skin concerns. If I could give zero stars I would. I went in for a blow dry this week. The girl was not experienced. She gave me the worst blow dry. My hair never looked this frizzy and damaged . This was clearly not a blow dry. At the end she ended up straighten my hair which made it looked more fried . Would never recommend this place for a blow dry . Read Less

I had the worst salon experiences in my life here, twice! If I could give negative stars I would. I had bought a coupon booklet of services to try here and I have gone for both a bikini wax and a blowout(my sister also got a blowout on the same day.) The bikini wax was awful, I paid to actually upgrade it to sugaring and the woman who did it, missed quite a few patches of hair, I told her she missed some patches so she re-did it and still when I got home there were so many patches I ended up having to shave anyways! I decided to give them another chance and go in for a blowout and what they gave me was NOT a blowout, they left my hair looking frizzy, puffy, damaged, dry and hideous. They couldn't have made it look worse!! They did the same to my sister's hair, but I took pictures of mine. We were both attending her graduation and had so many pictures to take and I ended up going to another salon to have it fixed. The woman behind the counter even had the audacity to charge me an extra fee for using "hot tools" on my sister's hair, which she never asked if we wanted her to us them, she just did it. Marci and Charlotte are extremely knowledgeable and have educated me on proper lash care. This is the first time in 3 years that I have had my lash extensions grow out to see that my real lashes are STILL THERE! When I was seeing another lash tech and let my lashes grow out, I was left with brittle, short and even broken lashes. Marci and Charlotte provide an extremely professional and educational service. They make sure that the lashes are the proper length and width for what your lashes can handle so that they're not damaged in the future. Right before Christmas I got my hair cut by Andrea. I've had my hair cut by her before, but this was my first time at Uptown. The environment there was very clean and professional. Every time Andrea cuts my hair I'm never disappointed. Whatever you request her to do, she will do it. She does amazing work and she is very proud of her work, as she should be. Andrea genuinely cares about the work she does and the people it's for. She makes you feel very welcome and comfortable. You can tell that she really enjoys what she does in how friendly and interested she is towards her clients. Marci microbladed my eyebrows today and I am at a loss for words. They are absolutely perfect. I have no eyebrow hair left and it was a huge blow to my confidence- but after today I feel incredible. I recently visited Uptown Beauty Lounge for an eyelash lift and tint with Taylor J and it was life changing!! My eyelashes grow down and since I work in a humid environment, curling them with an eyelash curler doesn't cut it and they fall down again quick. But the lift was incredible! They stayed beautifully curled for about 2 months, even at work! I wouldn't do the tint again because my lashes are already pretty dark root to tip, but I'm glad I tried it. Taylor was awesome d...uring the procedure - she explained every step clearly before she did it, which was super helpful because I was worried about having things around and on my eyes for an hour, unable to open them, and not knowing what was going on. I had eyelash extensions last November before going on my 2 week vacation in the Dominican and they lasted without any issues. Even with the hot humid weather, sea water, pool water, wind and sun block, they never failed.....they looked great even when I got home. I've had eyelash extensions elsewhere before but they were never as good as these ones were. This year I'm going to try the eyelash lift and tint. Visited Uptown Beauty Lounge in the spring to have microblading done by Marci. Permanent makeup is just that and I was very impressed with her professionalism and precision. This is the second time I've been here to get my lashes done. The first time I had Charolette and the second time was with Taylor. They were both so wonderful, friendly, and dealt with the concerns about how I should do my lashes. I left it to them to decide what lash style would look best on me and I couldn't be more happier with the results each time. They seriously impressed me big time! The entire staff there is friendly and quick to respond with booking appointments, answering questions, and making sure I was comfortable. I would love to give this place a great review and had several great last extensions with them in the past. Unfortunately the last time they changed the lashes they used on me without asking or informing me and I ended up with a very fake looking costume-esque lashes. When I called to ask for a removal appointment they could not get me in right away and didn't seem very concerned. I ended up talking most of them off myself (ow!) because I couldn't show up to work wearing them. It sucks to have wasted so much time for such a poor experience. Although I now live outside of the City I continue to travel to Waterloo to have her to do my hair because quite simply, she is the best! I took my daughter for a first time real eyebrow design. We hadn't had great experiences at the previous two attempts at different facilities in the region. We were accommodated with an appointment when we needed it. My daughter was naturally nervous but was treated gently with great professionalism. They did an amazing job and my daughter couldn't have been happier with her eyebrows and experience. I was also very pleased and will continue to take my daughter back. I wish they also include negative reviews not just positive ones to make there business so great !!  From my experience from this place is not a happy one.  I have invested so much time and money and the young lady that did my lashes was terrible.  This place was highly recommended by the young lady that does my nails.  First of all. I rather pay more money and get the job done right.  The first time I tried this place, I asked for a full volume.  I was not happy at all.  I did not get full volume and paid over $200.  The same day when I came home few of the lashes fell off.  I called them back and spoke with the young lady that did my lashes and she said it was  not common that they fall off right away.  She said I could come back at no charge and I told her that I don"t mind paying just to fix the problem that I was not happy with.  My phone call was followed up by a phone call by the owner Marcy.  Who told me  that basically her word was " I hurt the young girl"s self esteem"  That it was not good for her.  Well, as a professional who is running a business and dealing with different type of people..  She should know that not everyone is the same.  My intention"s were not to hurt anyone but, to expect to get what I paid for.  I came back and Marcy fixed it and again I apologized for any hurt taken the wrong way by the young lady.  They told me that the lashes will hold for 2 to 3 weeks..  They did not and came back after a week.  Spend more money.  Again, done by the young lady Taylor.  Again, fell off.  I figured not to call anymore and give her another chance.  Came back after another week and this time I asked if it would stay on for my birthday.  I was told yes !  Again, fell out.  Each day 2 to 3 fall out.  I was told by Taylor, that it is natural for them to fall off.  Even my own lashes fall off every day and I loose 2 to 3 lashes a day.  Surprise, I am not without my own lashes all this years???The last straw was when I went last week and paid $75.00 for re-fill.  Got in the car after, my husband says to me.  What is on you cheek ?  He picked it from my cheek and they were lashes.  I called the Salon right away and spoke with Taylor and she was not happy.  I can tell !  She does not like people telling her these kind of things going wrong.  But, this is the only way you could learn and perfect yourself.  By knowing what is going wrong !!!  I offer to pay again and she said no.  So an appointment was made.  Called back a day after or so to confirm my appointment and the secretary was also, acting weird.  She put me on hold and the owner Marcy, came to the phone.  The outcome of this was I told her that I decided not to come back.  They make you feel bad and they want you to pay and not say anything if you are not happy because you paid for something you did not get.  I feel that they cannot do no wrong and they don't want to know what is wrong with the job that a customer is not happy with.  You cannot perfect something in life when you make mistakes when you always think you are right.So, before listening to anyone about this place !  Read up other reviews not just the one on there sight.  Yours Truly,Customer Treated Terrible by Lashing Out Read Less
