I'd give your salon 6 stars if I could!! The staff is knowledgeable and resourceful. It is clear that not only do the management hire well trained stylists, but that they invest in their continued professional growth. Christie has been my stylist for the last few years, and she has taught me so much about how to care for my hair. She has recommended products and services when I have asked for suggestions (but certainly isn't pushy about trying to sell me any of the products/services the salon sells/offers). Christie exemplifies what one would look for in a hairdresser. She is personable, knowledgeable and keen to learn more about her profession. I worked for Thuy when she and Jon first opened their Magazine street location. After I few months the bad ergonomics of the pedicure stations and passive aggressiveness of Thuy forced me to find another place of employment. I assume I was the first of many employees to quit. I gave 2 weeks notice, worked those 2 weeks and left on what I thought was good terms. Fast forward to almost 2 years later, I'm applying for a federal job that requires an extensive background check. So..., I do my background interview and think that is it. Then several months later, I get called into a meeting with my Special Investigator specifically to clarify what happened when I left Blanc Beauty Bar. As Thuy had reported I did not give 2 weeks notice and did not leave on good term. I got a balayage by Johanna. She was amazing. Very friendly, chatty enough not to make you fall asleep or have a migraine. Very client oriented. She did everything just like I asked. Made sure that I knew exactly what would happen and what colour to expect. She was pushing all of their products, but I can't blame her. Probably she makes a buck off of it. I LOVE Blanc BB and especially Thuy- the owner! I am notorious for being a picky B***H when it comes to my nails- I'm very particular. I found her at another location (after going through two other techs) and followed her to her own, new place. The salon is clean, relaxing, and contemporarily classy. And, the people are great! Did not get the color right for my dye and the hairdresser was not very gentle with the coloring brush on my scalp. Plus, my hair smelled very very strongly of ammonia for a week after. Would not have minded so much if the color stayed in my hair, but after a couple of weeks, the color was almost completely gone. Read Less

I went in yesterday after discovering this new place on Yelp. First, let's just talk about the environment. That salon is beautiful! Relaxing, peaceful, light, white, fresh... The decoration is modern with clean and pure lines. I loved it! The girl who did my nails was really nice and talkative, but not too much either. She tried the gel nail polish on my pinky and asked me if I liked it or not. I decided to change and go for a more opaque shade. It was very nice of her to th...ink about that.
