I came to Essence Nails about 2 weeks ago. I needed a biogel fill for my nails and tips on just two of my fingers, which took about 2 hours. My appointment was for 8pm and I left the store at 10pm. Two days later the tip on my thumb broke off and I had to go back in to get it fixed. Two days after getting that fixed I had to go in again because the tip on my other finger broke off ad well. The rest of the nails which were my nails were perfectly fine. I just don't like the fact that I had to drive back and forth 3 times because it just was not done right the first time. My third week now and the shellac is intact (don't know why people say it doesn't) even though I've been traveling out of the country for the last 3 weeks. My friend and I went in just on a fluke, but boy am I glad we did! I got a polish change and the lady took such care in shaping and painting my nails, which I really appreciated since it wasn't an expensive service. Also you'll never run out of options, they literally have any colour you could imagine! My friend got a full set of bio gel (they don't do acrylic) and they turned out perfectly! The service isn't fast by any means so if you can't wait for great end results then I wouldn't come here, because they really take their time to do the best job! The service is great and the place looks amazing. They raised their prices which makes it crazy expensive and the manager doesn't seem to be truthful with prices. Their price list says 20$ for shellac change which last time I went was $15 including removing old shellac. Now the price is 20$ just for the change and an extra 3$to remove old shellac which wasn't said anywhere and never happened before. I honestly think the owner ripped me off. However I gave this place two stats for my nail artist. She was so sweet attentive and a pleasure to talk too!Read Less

If you want to get a gel nail done then this is not a place! they clearly don't have the expertise. It took them 2 and half hour to do a new set and the finishing is not that great. I did a shellac and I wanted to have an accent ring finger nail but they suggested to put glitter instead of an accent color. When the bill came they charged me $5 for putting glitter on half of two nails!! When I asked why didn't they mention that it will cost me $5 more and specially when I wanted something else they just didn't bother to listen to me! Have come here a couple of time for a gel fill, and a pedicure. The prices are fair and the decor is quit nice and modern. I liked the fact that they were able to do my nails and pedi at the same time. But I personally was not happy with the final product. The quality of the pedicure was not detailed and not very neat. Not enough 'dead skin was removed' My nails were done fairly well, but I was a bit disappointed with the girls personality, she came off unpleasant at times and would not stop chatting with the other staff in her language.As it is common in this industry, I personally find it rude if it is not at least filtered to some degree. Made an appointment an hour before going and wasn't sure what to expect.I just needed a shellac pedicure since I just got back from my vacation! It looks exactly like the pictures and Beautiful inside! They are extremely clean and tidy. The pedicure bowls are covered with a plastic bag for sanitary purposes and exchanged out after ever customer. The lady doing my nails didn't talk to me and rushed the job. They're very busy and I'm surprised there isn't any reviews here..I wouldn't go back.Expensive - $50 pedicure with shellac..Plus tip..Was a nice change from my normal nail place but the job was half assed and not impressed! I was in desperate need to get my nails done, and everywhere in maple closed at 8pm on a weekday! Thankfully I found this salon that closes at 9pm (which is amazing) and they took me as soon as possible! Being a picky person with my nails, I am very very pleased and satisfied with my experience here! The staff was very respectful and CLEAN as well! I debated writing this review as I believe this nail salon is fairly new and most businesses have a few kinks to smooth out at the beginning of their journey. However, I feel like I need to write this review in the hopes that this will at least shed light on things that need improvement. I went in for a shellac manicure, basic nail design (nail art), and a regular pedicure. I emphasized on the phone exactly which services I was requesting. When I arrived at the salon, the girl at the front desk and the owner (?) both greeted me politely and acknowledged I was there for the shellac mani, nail art, and regular pedi. The owner suggested I select my shellac colour and then they would select a matching pedi colour for me. Sounded good to me. I then sat down and my pedi and mani were each done by different people. The pedi lady asked me what polish I wanted; I repeated what the owner had said to me at the start. The mani lady was in charge of bringing the polish bottles over. She brought over the shellac polish only. The pedi lady then had to remind the mani lady to bring the pedi polish as well. Finally, the pedi was done without issues and looked great in the end. The shellac however was a different story. Overall the look was fine; however, all of a sudden after the application of the polish she applied oil drops. Usually this is done at the end of a manicure. I inquired about my nail art and she looked surprised; she said she didn't know I was doing nail art. The owner walked by and acknowledged I was getting nail art done. The mani lady looked dismayed and said that she couldn't apply nail art to the hand with the oil but she could do it for my hand without the oil. I said I did not want nail art on just one hand. In the end I told her to forget the nail art and just finish the shellac mani. During this time, I did not hear anything from the owner even though she was right within earshot of us. No one tried to rectify the situation. I paid and left. When I got home, I noticed that there were these weird tiny small circle indents in the nails on my left hand. So now I have marks on my fingernails with no nail art as requested...This place needs to work on their communication issues so that their customers do not need to remind each nail technician what services they are getting done. This place that does a great job AND treats their customers properly.  The owner, Susan, is kind and respectful.  She talks with her customers and really listens and gives honest advice (on good and not-so-good options for your nails).  The staff is very happy and competent.The place is busy and I can understand why it would be.  Each time I have been, there have been men there as well (even they like it).Susan - keep up the great work.  You will be rewarded by loyal customers.Truly impressed.  Thank you. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! the owner Susan is a doll and the very bestest nail artist is GET. She is so patient and thorough with pedicures especially! I've been going to Get for 6 years now and followed her to this new location. They use top quality polishes, service is great, atmosphere is relaxing ( unlike other places) and they are very clean. I live in the States now but every chance I get when I'm in town I go to her. Wherever she'll move to I will follow. Susan is also a sweetheart. Very loyal and patient aswell. Beautiful clean work.
