The technician I had complained to me how she doesn't like her job and how Torontonians do not tip as well as when she worked in Vancouver. I came here for a relaxing experience but it turned into an awkward experience. I was expecting the gel manicure to take an hour (as that's what my coworkers said how long it takes) and I spent 2 hours. The chairs need to be more comfortable if the service is to take that length of time. And as for cleanliness, the technician shook the towel off (with dust flying everywhere) and then had me do my manicure on a dirty towel. I can't imagine the tools or how dirty the drawers are when she pulled out the supplies. The edges of polish by my cuticle were not clean or pressed down properly as my hair would get caught underneath the polish (when I would move it away from my face) after I left that day. Nebula is a no frills nail and beauty salon that recently got a well needed interior upgrade. I have been coming here for a few years now and love the staff and how they're always accommodating my schedule and walk-ins. Recently renovated with marble floors and tables, this spa is more economical than other nail places. Unlike other nail salons, they don't do your toes and nails at the same time. They separate both services which gives them more time to do them with care (albeit takes more time). For Mani (shellac French nails), pedi and brow threading, I allot about 1.5 hrs in my day. Their pedi chairs are comfortable with massage capabilities. Added with a little foot and hand massage for your services, you really can't go wrong coming here. Don't go here for a Bio Seaweed gel polish! I went for a Bio Seaweed gel refill and the girl apparently skipped some of the steps, filed my nails unevenly and didn't even sand down the base gel, so my nails looked chunky. In fact, one nail looked like it had already grown out 1 week because she didnt remove the cuticle. When I pointed out the uneven nails to her, she actually said, "Good eye!" and would re-file them a bit. They were still uneven by the end of it and the color was applied streakily. I actually went back two days later to have my nails filed to an even length (someone else did it for me). Never going back again, only reason I'm giving it 1 star is because the other nail lady uncomplainingly filed my nails to even lengths. Read Less

Had a basic manicure and it looked nice on the first day, but started chipping the very next day (I didn't even do dishes or wash my hair or anything). By the third day, 6 of the 10 nails had chipped (pictured). I've done my own nails that lasted longer. Service was good but the results were disappointing. Read Less

Came back for a second visit after an amazing first time experience (the shellac on my fingernails didn't chip at all, even after I had to finally cut them shorter). My second mani visit was poor. I saw a different technician because my original one wasn't in. The shaping was uneven even after I requested that it be redone and after her second pass, she told me it was "even from her view". I had to shape them myself at home, and now I worry the shellac won't last as long at the tips. I'd like to go back and see my original technician, but I can't say I recommend seeing Sue.Read Less

AVOID THIS PLACE , DO NOT WALK IN!! I was going out for my birthday that night and wanted everything to look good. How ever my experience here was terrible. First the lady was continously on her phone that was hidden in a cubby below the table, i got bio gel nails and she put the fake nail litterally over top of my whole nail I said this wasn't how to do it and she ignored me.She asked me what colour I said a black matte so a black with a flat finish I explained it to her in 4 different ways and she assured me she knew what I was saying she then started putting on a black nail polish with a shine. I told them it wasn't what I wanted but they weren't going to fix it due to them being busy... which they weren't no one was waiting... after 84 dollars spent I had a nail break off the day after and 2 the following day because she did not do it right. Be aware!!! They don't hygiene their tools by Uv machine. They do it only one time a day , when I asked them why they told me they are busy and don't have time to hygiene them for each customer. This is dangerous!!!!... I have been there today for the first time and didn't expect Indian nail artists. I have to say as a business woman's Their behavior and customer service was very very bad. Non of them smile at a customer or even starting a conversation. Any way I went there for an interview as nobody treat me as a person who is there for a job I sat somewhere and wait. After sometime One of them asked me to do pedicure for a customer . I finished the customer's pedicure and she said thank you then left. The Indian lady who was a manager asked my name and said ok good job do the next one. I was almost done with the second lady that suddenly manager came and asked someone else to come and finish the nail Polish for her , a customer who I was working on her nail was shocked and told the manager no need I am fine . They didn't care and didn't let me finish. Manager just said thanks for your support go home. I asked her what happened, don't you need me to come and work she said go home!! I asked whyuuuu she answered your polish was not good!!!!!!!?????? Really ???!!
