I was here once. I was going on a trip to Vegas with my in-laws (yes, I know. But I actually get along really well and we had a GREAT time. I'd tell you about it, but you know...what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas and all that). Anyway, I was really excited to finally try out this place because I'd heard about it and it came recommended by someone who lives in my condo building. So I made an appointment and got a shellac mani-pedi. Now, I knew going in it was bit pricey, so that's not why it's only 3 stars. And they did a great job (for the life of me I can't remember the names of the 2 women who worked on my mani-padi). What got me was the service. While I was greeted when I came in, it was with no more than a passing thought, as though it was too much of a chore for the woman who was working at the front desk. I didn't wait too long for my appointment, I had just enough time to choose my colours, so I didn't think much of it. People have bad days so it wasn't really a big deal even though it was slightly annoying. However, when I sat down to get my appointment started, I instantly felt as though the two women were in a rush to get me in and out of the salon. I didn't want anything fancy; purple toes with a bit of sparkle; and matching purple fingers, with an accent finger with the same bit of sparkle as my toes. The two women weren't exactly engaging in terms of conversation, but much like the woman working the front desk, I felt they carried on a conversation out of necessity. To be honest, it kind of felt like they were at the end of their shift and in a rush to leave. Granted it was late on a Saturday afternoon, but come on. Be present when you're working with someone. I read another review from a fellow Yelper on here. She described this salon as 'cold and pretentious' and added that 'it's difficult to book other appointments because you're beneath their other clients'. Sadly, that's true. If you're not a regular, attractive or 'posh' enough to their standards, they'll put up with you because they have to. When a regular customer came in and sat down in the chair next to me, I was completely ignored. The staff aren't very welcoming and at the end of the appointment I was asked to leave a tip, as if I was dumb enough not to do such a thing. Let's just say they didn't get much of one. I really don't ask for much, but when I'm being pampered, whether it be on my own or with a friend, I want to have fun and engage in the person I'm working with. I've been going to Polished since the day it opened, at least twice a month. The mornings I have an appt, I wake up with a little flutter, because I know I'm going to be pampered with good conversation and quality products in an extremely hygienic surrounding. I've never been disappointed with the care I've received or the results of my appt. I have been here twice for their 1 hour gel manicure and got polar opposite experiences. The first time was amazing - the ladies helped me pick colors with letting me try swatches on my nails, were patient and acted like they cared about me. I felt very pampered and was excited to come back, as well as I tipped them.The next time I came, I felt rushed to pick my color and the lady doing my nails was colder towards me. The whole manicure was rushed and only took 30 mins as oppose to the 60 mins I paid for. I also needed to wait for my ride to come pick me up, but because the other client at the time already left, the ladies went to the back of the salon and I was left alone at the front. I did not tip this time and I am considering not coming back. The second experience alone makes me want to give this a 1 star but will give 2 for the first time and the quality. Read Less

Fairly clean with chic decor.  They do a great job with nails but that's about it.  The environment is very pretentious and cold. Customer service is not their forte which makes it difficult to recommend.  They make it hard to book other appointments...almost feels like it's on purpose because you're beneath their other clients. This a nice place to get your nails done. The women that work there are pleasant and professional. The place is very clean and they have a vast selection of polishes to choose from. They are on the expensive side and they do not offer a discount if you do both a manicure and pedicure in one session. Most places offer that type of discount so that is something to keep in mind if you choose to visit this place. While I was there I purchased a gift certificate for my sister. I love Polished for the ambience, customer service and quality of service/ products. Now that I am a new mom, I want to make it worth it when I leave the house. I love to come here to pamper myself.I took one star away because the price is quite steep. Mind you, you are getting what you pay for. While it's true, I've been told, that you can find a cheaper salon with the same quality, the chances of that happening is slim and it mostly depends on the technician you get. At Polished, you will ALWAYS get perfection so you are essentially paying for peace of mind. I don't mind paying a higher price when I know I'm going to walk out with nails that last 4 weeks and I feel 100% pampered/ amazing. Staff is amazing. Kirin and Carrie always do my shellac manicure and pedicure. They remember what we talked about at my last visit and engage me in nice conversation. They're the sweetest! I would give this place 1 star, but the employee doing my nails was their saving grace. Yes, the interior is beautiful and it appears to be extremely clean. It is on the pricier side - I ended up spending around $50 for a basic manicure and eyebrows. However, that is not the biggest downfall of this place. It seems that if you are not an attractive customer, or if you are not a regular, they look at you like you are trash. Like the other reviewer said, all the workers are gorgeous, and in my experience, if you did not look like them, you were not worth their time. Luckily, the girl doing my nails, was extremely nice throughout the entire process. I can recall one other being smiley and nice, but the others, definitely were not. One of the employees ASKED for a tip, as if I wasn't going to give one regardless. At salons, I love to feel pampered, and to carry conversation with all the employees. This salon was not the case; I was afraid to speak in the fear of them giving me judgement. So far, I visited the place twice to get my eyebrows waxed and both times the ladies did an amazing job. The staff is very friendly and polite and provide you with a great experience. They always make sure that everything is nice and even and the shape is exactly what I asked for :) I usually don't bother writing reviews, but they did such an excellent job that I just had to compliment them :D Thank you, PBB, I will definitely visit again!!! Not sure why there aren't more reviews for this perfect little nail bar. Located in the Richmond Heights plaza south of Elgin Mills is this narrow boutique right next door to winners! I didn't have an appointment and needed a quick manicure. I called 10 minutes prior and they could squeeze me in, just. While inward there I watched The Notebook and time just flew! The space was spotless, the girls were wonderful and the manicure was absolutely excellent, all for $30! A helper below mentions the cost is expensive - not to me, $30 for a mani is well worth the price in knowing the utensils are cleaned properly. Read Less

Really nice nail salon, probably the best one in Richmond hill. However, its more on the pricey side. I've gotten my eyebrows and nails done here plenty of times. The girls are all gorgeous and really kind. The shellac they do lasts a lot longer then most places, they also add a strengthening powder when doing shellac.  i've had mine last for 4-5 weeks without chipping ( of course my nails grew out)  but the fact they were still there was amazing.With their eyebrow waxing they make sure you really like it before going through with waxing it.
