Came in and the atmosphere was of a clean, quiet and calm place which was nice. Had a 4:00 appointment and had to wait until 4:30ish which wasn’t really a big deal just a little inconvenient. Sat down and knew what I wanted, acrylic nails, white tips and a thin layer of a pink shellac. Ended up getting gel nails instead which I’d never had before but I figured it would be okay. She rushed through sizing the tips, didn’t touch my cuticles or even push them back. The shape was not what I asked for, even though I asked multiple times for her to round them out more, they remained square and she seemed almost annoyed that I insisted more than once. They didn’t use new files or buffers which was very unsanitary. She left them too flared out at the top of the nail, the gel on the nail bed was uneven to the point where I can still see deep dips and bumps in the layer of gel on top, and she didn’t even try to buff it out or fix it. A few nails were unevenly shaped and I asked her to fix it and she couldn’t understand. In no way am I against employees who can’t speak English well but if customer service is vital or even remotely important to them they should try to exercise their English speaking a bit because the directions I gave were not followed or understood at all which was of course extremely frustrating and resulted in me not getting the quality or what I wanted for my money. I got home and was extremely angry and disappointed that it came out to $55 for everything and yet I had to shape them myself and they still look absolutely horrible. I needed a last minute appointment on a Friday before I attended a wedding the very next day. They do close at 7pm, so they were able to squeeze me in for a shellac manicure and regular pedicure at 5:30.Although they were running late, they ladies there were very nice and gave me the full treatment I had requested.They talked to each other, as there was some language barrier between us. They staff there had basic English and spoke in Mandarin a majority of the time. I was able to throw in some Cantonese words to let them know what I wanted.Overall, they did what I had asked and completed in quite a timely manner.I don't expect someone in a salon to talk to me as I prefer to keep to myself, so Nail Bar on 14th definitely delivered on that! Walked away with a cut up pinky, and acetone burn on all my fingers. I've never had such a horrible experience getting my nails done. Understaffed, they started taking my shellac off and left the acetone on my nails for over 20 mins.I told them they were burning, and still left them on for about 15. When buffing my nails the girl wasn't paying attention and scrapped skin off my pinky. It bled a lot and hurt like crazy after already being burnt by acetone. Days later and my fingers are still red. I had purchased a groupon with 2 of my friends and decided to try it out. We booked at appointment for 4 pm for a mani & pedi. Upon arriving there were already four people being taken care of so we understood we had to wait a little bit. We waited about 30 minutes until we got seated for our pedicures. The place was very clean and well taken care of but colour selection for regular polish was small. There was some misunderstanding or issue with booking because they only booked 2 of us down so my other friend had to wait 10 minutes to get seated. By this time there were only 2 other people in the salon besides us. Somehow they decided to do my other friends first so I was left sitting in the chair with my feet soaking for about 40 minutes & I could see the ladies rushing to get my friends nails done. By the time they got started on mine the water was cold that I had to ask them to change it. The four ladies working were very unprofessional. They would barely say a word to you but would speak loudly and laugh as they talked amongst each other in their  own language. As I got my nails done I became more and more impatient. From the time I walked in the door until I left it took approximately 3 hours just to get a manicure and pedicure! The most frustrating thing was to see a gentleman walk in who seemed to be a regular customer get pampered even though he came in more than an hour after I did. Two ladies immediately became attentive and did his manicure and pedicure for him at the same time so he could get out quickly! When my friends finished they seemed to have a decent job done but the lady who did my nails was absolutely awful and did not really know what she was doing. She continuously kept going over the nail with polish and a number of times she accidentally touched my nail so she had to keep redoing it. When I sat down for my manicure she was rough and was trying to rush to get it done. She didn't soak one of my hands so it was painful when she was pushing back the cuticle and cutting off the dry areas!! I couldn't wait to get out of there. Definitely will NOT return! Read Less

As soon as I said that I had a Groupon on the phone I would automatically get somebody telling me that they're already booked. I finally got the approval from someone to come in two weeks ago. ProsI can say that the place is clean. ConsI walked in and I was ignored for a good three minutes. So I was basically left standing at the door....There's not a lot of regular polishes available.I wanted to use an official shellac colour but they didn't have it. They had Gelish and another brand.The staff wasn't very friendly. My water for my pedi was ice cold and I felt like a nuisance having to ask them to warm it up.Overall I probably would not come back. Will Never Go Back! I have gone to this nail salon since it opened. Less than 2 weeks ago I had a set of Bio Gel nails put on by "Lisa". I left for vacation the next day and 3 days later 4 of the nails broke. Two on each hand. Because only half of the tips broke, I had to cut them down so they would be even. I went in this morning to explain what had happened and she was there doing another customers nails. SHE STARTS YELLING AT ME THAT I CUT THEM!!!! I said, of course I cut them! I only had half a nail on each finger! Then she says are you sure it was me, I've never seen you before!!!!! Love my shellac!  This is the thinnest coat ever!   I called at 10am Thursday and they put me into a 1030 appt!  They were very professional and did a great job cleaning up my cuticles for the season!  It's a very no frills salon that offers mani/pedi for $30 and an extra $20 for shellac.  My pedicure has a bit of splitting but I'm loving my manicure.   Will definitely come back again. Very disappointed. I got a male technician and I wanted acrylic nails with french tips. He rushed through it, tore up my cuticles until I bled and glued the french tips on in a hurry without even measuring which meant he had to file down the sides until the sizes matched which hurt! The gel part that he put on-top was put on unevenly so some nails are thicker than the others and it just looks plain stupid. Also he glued them on in such a rush that some are crooked. This place is usually good but if they try to put you with this male technician I suggest you ask for one of the ladies, they do a lot better of a job. I'm not pleased with this at all. Read Less

I had an lovely experience here and can confidently recommend it to those who are just looking for a standard, no-nonsense nail salon for gel nails. I made an appointment today for 3:15, calling an hour beforehand. They fit me in without issues. I arrived around 3:10 and got sat down immediately. I wanted a full set of Bio Seaweed Gel Nails with tips. The lady that did my nails took time to be extremely detailed in making sure my nails were filed properly with a drill-bit while also watching out for my thin nails that needed some extra attention. During that time, I had a chance to look at their color selection and design options. There's definitely a good number of colours to choose from, and they can do designs like flowers, marbling, striping tape, the list goes on! I asked for a french manicure and could not be more pleased with how neat and tidy they came out! Other salons have left them crooked, sheer, and sloppy. My technician took time to tidy the edges and make sure they were all even, like what a french manicure should look like. The only little detail I found a bit strange was that towards the end, she skipped using the clear BSG to top off my nails, and used IBD instead. It kind of defeated the purpose of Bio Seaweed Gel, seeing as BSG is a soak-off gel while IBD is a file-off. It cost a total of $50 for a full set, plus $5 for the french manicure (most places charge $10). Would I come back? If I was in the area then absolutely!! Read Less

They are currently having a promo for a paraffin treatment, hot stone massage and foot scrub for an additional $15 on top of the mani-pedi $30 deal. I would advise on making an appointment though. It was my first time here and I came right when they opened. I was taken right away with no appointment. It wasn't too busy (granted it was Saturday morning). Passed by this place one day an decided to come in for a manipedi and waxing. I called in beforehand to ask if they accepted credit, and the girl who picked up said yes. When I arrived the first thing I noticed was that there was no airconditioning on during a hot summer day, and I almost turned right back out. But I badly needed to get my nails done for a date later that night, so I stayed because the reviews I read about the place might make it worth bearing the heat.The lady doing my pedi was very nice and professional and she really took care to pamper and clean my feet. But then she had to go because her shift was over. One of her co-workers will take over, she informed me.I expected her colleagues to be of the same manner, but I was proven wrong. The mani was rushed and sloppy, and the lady was eating at the mani table while my nails were drying. And then when I went to pay, they took longer than 5 mins to ring me up a total, and said they can only take cash or debit, when I sepcifically asked beforehand if they accepted credit! Then when I got home, I noticed that the waxing on my legs was poorly done as well as I had patches of hair still left over that I had to fix myself! I honestly do not know how they have gotten such high reviews, or how people said that they have a clean environment when there were at least 3 flies buzzing around because of the open doors and windows. I'm a basic classic manicure kinda gal (only nude mani/pedi for me) and I refuse to step into dirty places. Sure it's not that busy, they speak a different language, they dress causal BUT they are clean!!!!! I like that I can walk in anytime and never have to wait (but I always call ahead and have never been refused), I like that it's clean and quick. Came to this nail salon on a Saturday afternoon. The place is very clean and had a great atmosphere. I ended up getting a biogel manicure, which took around 1-1.5hrs. I got a marble-like design, and I really liked the way it turned out. The staff members were also very friendly and accommodating; fun to talk to and offered me water. Definitely NOT the best nail salon! Came in for a shellac manicure ($30) and I was the only client there. Two staff were working - one was the manager. The manager started eating pizza at one of the nail tables, while blasting her TV show on her phone and yapping away with the lady doing my nails, in another language. I thought it was unprofessional (and unhygienic) behaviour, especially for a manager. The manager seemed like she just rolled out of bed, wearing sweatpants and her hair all over the place. The lady took her time filing my nails, but as soon as two other customers walked in, she suddenly rushed the job, only did 2 layers of shellac polish, put lotion on my hands with no massage, and said I was finished. Super rushed job! The place isn't the cleanest looking either. I gave it a 2 star because the manicure looks ok and they were friendly, but I probably won't be coming back here. This newly opened nail salon and spa is bright, clean and spacious. I came with my cousin and 2.5 year old daughter and made a girls pamper morning out of it.  My cousin and I got mani pedis (my mani was shellac), my daughter got a mani (multi-colour as requested), and I also did upper lip and under arm waxing.  We were not disappointed! The staff are a pleasure to chat with, extremely patient (with my toddler and also taking their time with our mani pedis) and have a great variety of nail polish and shellac available. The 60 minute facial was really worth the time! I have sensitive skin with acne scars and usually facials irritate my skin -but I was impressed with the results. After 5 days of a crazy busy week at work, my skin was still soft and no breakouts! With aoft music , you can rest from your busy life and felt like a real spa experience and professional service. Thanks ladies! I also tried the waxing service for my eyebrows and underarms. With Indian skin- wax usually gets stuck or dries out. After one strip, my skin felt very soft and painless.
