The staff are very nice. I didn’t have an appointment but they made time for me. When I walked in, they were all busy but asked me what I wanted done and gave me the acrylic nail polish colours to choose from while I waited. The woman who was doing my nails made sure to ask me if what she was doing was alright and continued to make sure that I was getting exactly what I wanted done. If there was anything I wanted changed, she was happy to fix it for me. They do chat amongst each other a bit but I didn’t mind since they were still very focused on what they were doing. If my hands were doing something that made it hard for her to do my nails properly, she would lightly tap my hand and tell me what I needed to do or just tell me. All of my acrylics broke off two hours after I got them. When I called and asked to come back in to get them done, she said I could. When I did they just told me to sit, and the lady who did my nails was extremely rude. She wouldn’t look at me and spent the whole time talking to the girls walking around. Not only that, she muttered something I couldn’t understand, & when I asked her “sorry what?” She hit my knuckles with the acrylic brush and told me to relax my hands. She did that several times, then at the end, told me to put my hands under the light then just walked away & didn’t come back. I went to leave and was unsure if they were going to make me pay, and the lady who works at the cash told me “You can go.” The other girl was very rude to my friend as well when we went together & cut her nails so short that you could see the tips of her nail beds. I love Jenny's Nails. I've been to a number of other places in Ottawa for shellac manicures and Jenny's is by far my favorite. $28 for a shellac manicure and they don't charge me to get my old shellac taken off. My last shellac manicure lasted me almost a month without chipping. The staff is great, they are all so friendly and fun. The last time I went, I brought my 83 year old Nana and they treated her like a queen. It was her first time ever getting a manicure and she loved it. Would highly recommend. Read Less

Kelvin is the best...I have never had my acrylic nails so consistently impeccable, practically flawless. If I don't need a fill yet he tells me. My nails never catch in my hair or lift and I've never had fungus issues since I started seeing Kelvin. Best nail tech ever, I highly recommend The Nail Bar! Yesterday I was there with 3 friends for our friends birthday! I have worked customer service many times and the first face a customer should see when they walk in is a friendly one and the lady at the front desk was not friendly at all! The people that did our feet made the experience so much better, they were great! When we asked for a drink the man doing my friends toes asked the front desk lately and she made us wait while she had a conversation non related to the salon! I have been going to Tina for over 15 yrs. She consistently gives me great service and I highly recommend this place for cleanliness, and friendly service, by all the staff and the owners as well! I read a bad review and I know you can't please everyone, but these people do try to help their customers, and will gladly redo their work if you are in any way unsatisfied. I am a very picky person, so if I'm happy, I'm sure you will be as well! As a client it is your responsibility to be clear as to what you want. When I get my porcelain nails done, they last between 5 and 6 weeks and I do gardening and dishes by hand and rarely break a nail. A friend and I have been here recently, and she got her brows done and I got my nails done. And it was the worst service I have ever gotten. You cannot understand what the people are saying to you and they give you dirty looks when you ask them to do something differently from what they want. And now to talk about my friends brows... She told the lady just to clean them up and she completely reshaped them and didn't put any shape!!! They came out to be 2 lines on her forehead from something that had nice (strong) arches. I would give no stars if I could. Yes the prices are cheap but the quality is just not worth it. I would gladly pay a lot more for better service. They have lost my and a lot of my friends service. Great spot to get your nails done! I desperately needed to get my nails did before a week of meetings. Had a recommendation from a friend to try Jenny's. Very nice clean salon, quite a few stations for pedicures with massage chairs and there were about 8 stations for manicures. Very friendly staff and they do basic polish, shellac, gel and acrylic. They have some beautiful samples of the designs they can do on acrylic nails! I don't know what the difference between the nail bar's gel polish and other places is, but my nails have a strong unpleasant odor and the staff hurried to get us done telling us that they wanted to get done quickly so they could leave. Not a very relaxing or pleasant experience. Read Less

The tech got nail polish all over my hands and the gell under my nails. One of my nails is lumpy. She pulled my arms so far away close to her I was sitting squished up on the bar. Very uncomfortable and bad experience. Will not be returning. Not worth the money. Read Less
