Since I am away from Austin for an extended length of time I scheduled a pedi at a highly rated salon here in Monterey, CA. While I’m waiting in this small place, a hideous, intolerable chemical smell fills the airspace from service to another customer. I have to wait outside. I like the concept, the boutique, and the friendliness of everyone who works there. The quality of manis and pedis compared to other places I’ve been in Austin is severely lacking. For example: The nail tech began polishing my toes w/o a basecoat. I said, “Oops! I think you forgot the basecoat. Her reply: “No, I didn’t forget. OPI has a built-in basecoat so you don’t need it!” I gave them three tries, but each time was a little worse than the first. It’s too bad, because it’s so close to home. Read Less

This is a new place in Bee Cave and it’s the perfect place for a girls day out. It’s next to greater goods coffee and the French bakery so it makes a perfect girl stay or mom/daughter treat. It’s soacious and doesn’t smell AT ALL like chemicals. You get a neck wrap that smells like lavender and a little dish of chocolate. It’s a wonderful nail experience and I loved it. Usually I LOVE Embellish but today was, sadly, an expensive mistake. The embellished pedi was so-so, nothing special. & the very sweet manicurist cut my big toenails uneven/not even close to the same length. Polish was gloppy, not using the base & topcoat to go with the Smith & Cult polish. Now, I use that polish because I like the colors but I especially like the 8-free formula which I didn’t get with the technician using another base. Finally, the toe separators weren’t well seated & smeared several toes. Someone else was able to mend that somewhat but the very spendy pedi looks worse than when I do my own nails. Not a relaxing treat at the end of a hard working day/week. Lesson learned: stick with the basic pedi & only book when favorite manicurist is available.Read Less

Thanks Micah and Embellish for the best facial experience the other day. I chose the "Stop the Clock" facial and Micah did such a great job with the facial and massage of scalp, hands, feet that I fell into such a deep restful state...to me this is a sign of a great experience along with facial that made my skin feel refreshed and hydrated.
