I’ve been using The Ten Spot for the past four years (3 years at the Hamilton location and 1 year at the Oakville location). Today was the first time I have been disappointed in the customer service aspect of the Oakville location. Due to a scheduling conflict, I was unable to maintain the 4 week schedule to qualify for the upkeep discount (My most recent visit was at the five week mark instead of four). At the Hamilton location, it was never an issue if I had to, on occasion, schedule for 5 weeks instead of four. My loyalty discount was still honoured since I was a routine customer (typically every four weeks, but on the odd occasion being required to schedule for 5 weeks instead).
When I was informed that I did not qualify for the discount, I said “ok no problem” and tried to schedule my next appointment to be within the four week window. Unfortunately, the lady who does my waxing (Hong- she’s fantastic) was not working the Friday, Saturday, or Sunday of my next four week upkeep visit. Since this location has decided to be rigid regarding their loyalty discount timing (must be four weeks and never five), I feel like I must try somewhere new since I’d be required to see a new woman for waxing anyway. As a result, I’ve booked somewhere closer to my house for a better price. It’s a shame that this location would rather lose the loyalty of a customer instead of offering some flexibility (4 weeks or 5 weeks) in their loyalty programme.

This place is just the best. They treat you like family and somehow remember the smallest details from past visit conversations or preferences. The receptionist is so sweet and goes out of her way to research things for you. Hong is also just the best (which I shouldn't say so I can continue to get her) but she deserves a shout out.
This place is immaculatly clean and everything (foot file pad, nail file) is changed and disposed.
The only things I would improve here are environmental- like in the backroom chair area the lights are not shining direct into the clients eyes (I know the esteticians need to see what they are doing) but during lash tints I feel like I cry away the product from the light. Maybe point them a different angle?
Also the warmth at winter by the nail bar. Small atmosphere changes will continue to make it awesome.
These are just small suggestions.
You can't beat the people, service level and cleanliness here. *****

Not recommended for winter visits. Store interior is not organized properly to accommodate for the cold months - there are no drying stations for your feet, the chairs are cold metal, the floor is cold hard tile. We were freezing our butts off the whole time. When I mentioned this in a form sent to me requesting feedback, the manager was quick to blame the employees for not offering us a hot beverage instead of owning up to their shortcomings. Take proper charge of your business. If you ask customers for feedback, then take it constructively and improve the guest experience instead of driving customers away.

Great manicure, lovely setting, and the coffee when I got there was a great touch!

I was overjoyed with my manicure. Great ambiance and friendly staff. Two days after my manicure, two of my nails chipped, so I went into the store today, Saturday (4 days after my manicure) to ask if they (or even I) could just touch up the two spots with the same polish. I was happy to just dab on two drops in the areas that had chipped. I was told I could not.
I was informed that because I had a basic manicure ($35 plus tax and tip) that they would not touch up the spots.
I promptly handed my gift card with approx $80 still on it to a lady getting her services and left the store.
I would truly appreciate a response from your manager.

I've been going here for a few months now and love it each and every time! Ana is absolutely the greatest!! My first time visiting she was super informative and relaxing. She talked me through what she was doing during the wax all while friends was playing in the room (which definitely helps take your mind off the pain of waxing)! She (and the rest of the staff) is also always super friendly and welcoming!!

Third visit and will definitely come again... and again. Hong is incredible; super sweet, informative and gentle. Without fail The Ten Spot overall has made every experience enjoyable (and let's be real ladies, sometimes feeling and looking beautiful isn't as painless as 123), having gone to a different place and had a horrible experience I was extremely turned off but I'm so happy and glad to have gone here. Staff is always super friendly and I can't stop raving about this place to my family and friends! Thanks again ladies!!

If you're a fan of the Blo Bar experience, then you'll love this place (which makes sense, since it's owned by the same company). The salon itself was clean and tidy, which is really what you want from a nail place. The employees were all very friendly and warm which contributed to the atmosphere. My only complaint would be that they charged me a bit more for having a glittery accent nail done, claiming it was "nail art", which I've never had any other nail salon do. However, I would come back for a basic manicure if I were in the area.

I booked my first ever Brazilian wax and I couldn't have been happier with the experience. My esthetician was Hong and she was lovely and bubbly and made the whole experience as painless as possible. She clearly explained what she was doing at every step of the way and told me about the aftercare I needed to do. I will definitely return! There were TVs in the waxing rooms and mine was playing Friends on Netflix - kept my mind off what was happening! Cost was $50 which seemed fair for the service. They also have a loyalty program which I though was pretty cool.I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door and offered a seat and a drink. The location was convenient - keep in mind there is only street parking and you have to pay for parking if you go during peak time. Overall, the place is super clean, has a great staff (especially Hong!) and has a really fun vibe. I recommend it!

I LOVE the Ten Spot! I always walked by the salon but never went inside until about 2 years ago. I booked a wax and after I had my first one done I swore by the ten spot and will never go anywhere else! The girls who work there are super bubbly and personable, the wax is painless, and they let you watch Netflix while you get it done! They use different types of wax and the salon is very clean. They make sure you leave satisfied and they offer a wide range of different types of waxing and it's easy to book online! Definitely recommend!

The Ten Spot is the best no-fuss no-muss beauty salon you can find. They are clean (and I mean super clean) quick and friendly. The waxing is probably my favourite service they offer. They do NOT double dip waxing sticks which makes you wonder about every other place. I only wish they were not so pricey

I am a fan of the 10 Spot on Queen in Toronto. Since moving to Oakville, I've been trying to find a good waxer so I thought I would try out the 10 Spot here. It opened in June. Nicky was the front desk girl I booked my appointment with and who was manning the front desk for my visit. She has quite the attitude! I called and asked for a 5:30 PM appointment on a Monday. She told me that was not available because there was 'back to back' appointments at the time. Could I come at 5 instead? I told her it would be hard (as I leave work at 5 usually) and said I could try to make it there for 5:15. So I get there exactly at 5:15 and she reprimands me for being late and that another client who arrived 5 minutes earlier would be taken first. No problem, that is fair. So I wait and wait...at least Nicky offered me some Earl Grey tea with a side of shade! I end up waiting until 5:45 for my wax with Kerri (or Kelly) Ann who is super sweet but her waxing skills are mediocre at best. She uses the same strip of cloth for the entire wax! Talk about being cheap. She also misses several patches that I have ask her to go over. Anyway, I finally finish and pay for my service. There is not a single other person there! What happened to the 'back to back' appointments at 5:30? Could you not have either A) told me you could not accommodate me or B) Please come at 5:45 instead? My search for a waxer in Oakville continues.

The salon itself was clean and tidy, which is really what you want from a nail place. The employees were all very friendly and warm which contributed to the atmosphere. I booked a wax and after I had my first one done I swore by the ten spot and will never go anywhere else!
