We had a party at Glama Gal Oakville last week. My daughter had 8 friends with her. We've never done a spa party before and the girls loved it. We even had one boy and the girls made him feel totally welcome and a party of the party. The staff made my daughter feel so special and the services were great. I took my daughter to Glama Gals Oakville for her first 'spa' experience. She had the "My First Time at the Spa" package ($69 + HST) and I had the "Dessert Manicure/Pedicure" ($60 + HST). The experience wasn't bad and my daughter had a good enough time (probably because she'd never been to a real spa before) however, the amount I paid for the service we actually got was astronomical. The nail polish selection was lacking. The polishes my daughter chose were all old and gloppy which resulted in uneven application and by the evening, the tips of her finger nails had already worn off. We each had one coat of nail polish applied by a teenager along with a base and top coat, however, there was no time to allow the polish to dry and harden so two of my nails were ruined when I took out my wallet to pay. As part of my daughter's package, she was supposed to have a facial masque and cucumbers on her eyes. The masque was brushed on and wiped off 30 seconds later (the product directions state to leave it on for a MINIMUM of 10 minutes) and the cucumbers were not used. Again, the experience itself was fine and I realize it is a spa aimed at tweens, therefore the level of service and expertise is not going to be equal to that of a true spa, but then the prices should reflect that. I honestly could have done a better job of painting our nails and the next time I take my daughter to get her nails done, we will skip the tween spas and go to an adult spa where they know how to do proper manicures and pedicures. If I'm going to spend $129 + to get our nails painted, I expect them to look good and not start chipping or get smudged that same day. The silver lining is that I was considering holding my daughter's birthday there and I now know not to waste my money. We will never go back to Glama Gals. Note: they offer a free mini manicure or cucumber mist facial in exchange for a testimonial so I would be very suspect of all the 5 star ratings. Needless to say, I will forgo that offer. Read Less

We attended a birthday party at this place (Glam Gal Tween) the service provided was the most pathetic/dishonest/ cheap ever received. This place has very high fees for the mediocre service. Please keep in mind that, parents make the effort and are willing to expend a lot of money to make sure their children's birthday party are an unforgettable/special moment. Please keep in mind that, "Money doesn't grow on trees". Here is a list of the things that went wrong at the birthday party: -This placed increased their prices after the booking was made and wanted to charge at the end of the party a higher price than what it was originally booked at. There was never a notification send prior the birthday party. -The party was from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm...there was not a host ready to assist us at 2:00 pm. The party actually started at 2:10 pm. However, by 3:45 pm they were so ready to kick us out. -We were supposed to receive pizza and a spacial drink. The drink was warm (not refrigerated), pizza never arrived. The kids were served waffles (kids were expecting lunch) -They never took in consideration any food allergies. -The music was extremely laud. -Professional manicurist /stylist/statisticians are not the ones providing the service. The owners of this place have very young girls (teenagers, not adults) which is very sad. Most likely these girls are getting paid minimum wage and the owners charge for the services like if beauty professionals are ones providing the services. The girls really tried their best but, it was obvious they do not have any kind of training. -Beauty supplies were dry, old and cheap. -The bathrooms and the entire place have a public bathroom smell. -The arms for the doors do not work and one of the guest a "little girl' got her arm cough on the door and hurt her arm.
