I was shocked to learn my balayage service cost over $300! What crooks! Never going back again. AND they have a menu for drinks and snacks that they CHARGE for (lol). They’re basically picking up SUBWAY next door. You would never get that kind of cheap service at a first class salon in downtown Toronto, where the champagne is always free! Read Less

Unfortunately I had a very bad experience during my first visit. Based on the online reviews, I went with high hopes and walked out very disappointed. The colour is wrong, the highlights are not even and some have been over-processed. The cut is fair at best. Char, while nice enough, was not 100% engaged with his work and I found the atmosphere very uncomfortable. Not sure if it was an 'off' day, but the salon wasn't busy the time of my appointment. That being said, at the prices charged at this salon, 'off' isn't an option. I don't mind paying for quality work, but in my case, that wasn't what I got. My first impression of this place was it's very nice, all the staff were kind! I paid 70 dollars for a hair cut which is alright I guess, a little expensive considering I'm a poor college student. I always wear my hair curly, so when i got it cut the hairdresser curled it for me. This was two weeks ago, today I just straightened my hair for the first time for a special occasion and realized my hair is really visibly lopsided, like the left side is at least two inches longer than the right... For the haircut to be 70 bucks and it to look this horrible straightened, I'm shocked!!! Came here a few months ago for a root touch-up and blow-out. Overall the place is very elegant and clean. I had an appointment and was taken care of right away. My service was fine, not great. I think my main issue was that my skin around my hairline was not treated with any cream or barrier substance and after my hair was dyed my face had black stains from hair dye. This then resulted in pretty abrasive scrubbing with a towel to remove the dye by the stylist. I am not one to complain at the time and since my skin was stained I guess this was the only option? Afterwards another stylist, a very nice Syrian gentleman did my blowout. The blowout was fantastic and it was heartwarming to hear the gentleman's story of recently moving to Canada. I visited Char Le Blanc salon after a  friend of mine recommended Char to get my hair coloured.Let me tell you he is a true artist! he coloured my hair and put soft highlight and couldn't resist but to try his haircut. I walked out feeling like a model!I loved the atmosphere ,they also have drinking menu. I've never witnessed that in any hair salon I've ever been to. A spur of the moment decision to get my hair coloured before leaving for California found me at the receptionists counter on a busy Friday evening. This was my first time at CLB and I was initially a bit apprehensive. Didi said she could fit me in and minutes later we were doing a colour consult with a glass of wine in my hand! Fab! It's pricy, no doubt (my husband would spit out his water in disbelief if he found out my cut was $70), but the service is top notch and I loved the styling. I was due for my once-every-two-years haircut and was looking for to get it done over the holidays in my neighborhood. This place could accommodate and the reviews looked good so I gave it a try.As a side note, there doesn't seem to be a lot of hair cut options in the city, do people not get their locks tamed Mississauga?I showed up, was treated to a lovely cup of hot water (my choice, as all their tea options were caffienated) and a yummy chocolate. My stylist Didi was wonderful, she made me feel comfortable and gave suggestions and was so nice to talk to. And my hair wash was a dream (come on, we all know that's a huge deal when going to a salon)!It seems more people come here to do fancier work on their hair like highlights and colouring, but for a regular cut its also worth it, I think. They helped me out so much! I finally have the colour I've been looking for. After being to another salon and them messing up my hair and then suggesting treatments that didn't work I finally came here. They listened to my salon history and asked a lot of questions so that they understood what my hair needed and what they would have to do to get what I wanted. I will definitely be back. The only negative thing I could say, is that I was charged for a level 4 stylist when his apprentice was the one who was doing 80% of the work. I am totally happy with what she did. Next time I probably won't book with a level 4 though. Paying more for him to just overlook the process kinda felt scammy. But none the less I will be back they were all amazing! Read Less

I entered the salon with a horrible box dye, desperate for a hair cut . I walked out with an awesome haircut that maintained my length and super fly partial balayage. Best hair salon in Oakville, hands down!!! Char is a rockstar when it comes to hair-cutting. I came in with long locks and wanted a pixie do. I was very impressed with the level of skill and care he applied. **Nails**I got shellac mani and considering its spa standards and prices, I was disappointed. I only noticed after leaving that some nails had air bubbles. The whole application (shellac removal + application) took over 1hr30. The cost was $50. I would definitely save my money and go to the Asian nail salons. Read Less

The service was well done and while I loved my hair turn out and was well treated the entire time the price they quoted me with ($160) was not at all the price I payed. Considering I was told it would be under 200 and ended up costing $240 I was pretty upset.. I know it's only an $80 difference but I can't justify going back and spending another $240! Read Less

Checked out char le blanc last weekend and was happy to see that they now have esthetic services and very affordable prices!!  ...the esthetician jessica was very professional and gave me an amazing eyebrow shape, very relaxing manicure and pedicure! This is my new go to place ... I was so impressed with how modern & beautiful the salon was and how talented and funky the hairdressers were that I spoiled myself with booking my next hair appointment with char this weekend for a new colour and cut - stop looking and just come here ...tons of free parking for you to spend a few hours pampering yourself and you dont even have to leave the salon ...get ur hair, nails, makeup and waxing all here - facials too! I had a great experience here. From the moment I stepped in, to the moment I stepped out, the service was absolutely #1. My hair had seen better days, and it really needed some TLC.  I always thought my hair was hard to manage from previous experiences with other salons, but it seemed so effortless this time around. I had an awesome haircut and experience with my stylist, she is experienced, knowledgeable, personable and skilled. She did an amazing job from beginning to end. I have to say I walked out of the salon feeling like new. Honest. I like that they ask their clients for feedback with a quick survey; to me, it means they are committed to  identifying which areas they can improve on. I probably researched about 20 salons since I just moved here from the states... despite this being right around the corner from me, location and convenience is NOT why I chose to go to Char le Blanc salon. A few factors played into why I chose to get my hair completely redone here:1. The easy to use website and lot of social media: This salon actually features on their instagram and twitter before and after pics, tells you who the hairstylist that did it, and more, (features of products, etc.) Prices are featured by which hair stylist levels you prefer too, which I liked2. The customer service: I called and asked probably a million questions to one of the girls, and she was extremely patient with me - actually i called twice. Not only that, but I got fit in, last minute, and was told exactly who I would be seeing, which was cool because I could look up her previous work on the Instagram they had.3. The environment: immediately when I walked in, (despite being drab and almost in pajamas, not quite i tell you, I'm no hobo yet!) my hair stylist and another girl greeted me, put away my coat, chatted with me while she prepared her tools, went over in detail how I wanted my hair cut, etc. She wasn't like most hair stylists that brush you off and "tell you they know what they're doing" which I hate. 4. The perks: during my lavish shampooing it was quiet, they played awesome music in the salon and was extremely quiet (they must have great walls to absorb the sound). Not only that, I was offered a menu of many items, free and for a small fee like coffee, martinis, mini gourmet chocolates to have while I was getting my hair cut - which is foreign to me. I ordered the FREE espresso (yum) and they gave me a delish chocolate.Now, I walked in here for the first time in 6 years telling her to chop it all off (Rose was my stylist) and I don't regret it at all. I was walking into the salon expecting to cry when I walked out, however, I had never felt sexier when I left!They use excellent products, my hair lasted with my blow dry for about 3-4 days, and everyone who's seen is is so shocked at how amazing my hair is/how different I looked. Rose is extremely talented, and knew exactly how the layers would frame my face (I have a weird oblong face going on, obviously) and she totally nailed it.During that time, Char actually came in, I was introduced to him and his wife, and they made the environment even that much more relaxed, joking around having a good friday morning, and made me feel extremely welcome to the salon.Really, right now I'm just yelling at my hair to grow back so I can come back and visit sooner.
