Lady said they don’t take appointments anymore; Walk in only. I asked why, since I made an appointment last month and we were on a time limit so needed a firm time, couldn’t understand what she was saying and expressed that, she yelled I don’t understand you and hung up. What terrible customer service! They quoted me $55 with taxes. Charged me $62 at the end, when I asked why she said it was the tip. Needless to say I did not tip extra. I went to Phoenix Nails today on a whim as my regular place could not fit me in this week. I asked for a manicure and pedicure with shellac. Nancy told me the price would be $70 which I was fine with. When cashing out she then told me the price would be $85. When I told her that was not the price she quoted me she then began to argue with me in front of a fully packed nail salon. I left unhappy with over priced, mediocre nails. I warn anyone who goes there to beware. They ripped me off and I would never recommend anyone wasting their money at this establishment. Read Less

I've been going here since I was in grade 8 LOL it's quite a long time ago! For my grade 8 graduation my mom took me. I remember when it was in a small location back then and look at them now. I seldom write a bad review as I know everyone has bad days. But I've been to Phoenux twice and both times the staff was rude. After the first time I thought well I'll give them another chance. I had an appt and arrived promptly. I was told 5 min wait, which is fine. But, the girl started a manicure on another client. I asked when I would get served and she left the the other lady to start my service. So then I asked her to help me match the polish from previous visit and told "no you have to find it". Ok so I'll find one, and she goes back to the other lady. Finally comes back to me and I tell her I'm allergic to latex gloves. She says they have no other gloves (they used a black vinyl one last time and I told her that) she said not to come back for anymore pedicures! To top it off an elderly lady asked if she could get someone who was fast as she has pain sitting too long. The girl ignored the poor lady and finally told her to go sit down. I walked out. They clearly have no sense of scheduling, customer service or plain old common decency. Definitely do not recommend this salon. Lots more out there that would welcome your business. Read Less

You make an appointment and if a walkin shows up before you do (even though your there before your actual appt time by 5-10 min) they give your time to the walkin. My time is important to me, so if they can't honour that they lose my business. Read Less

Too bad this place is the only option nearby otherwise I would never return. Every time I book an appt and still end up waiting at least 45 minutes. Today it was an hour! What's the point of booking an appt?!? They still just take ppl first come first serve. One hour later someone finally came and it's only because I literally got up and was about to walk out! My aunt once told me that the smartest women are the ones who pretend to be stupid. Why does it work to our advantage? Because people will treat you according to what they think you know and if they are convinced that you don't know much they might use you, cheat you or take advantage of you. I left this salon and I will not go back!I understand that they are very full and that they are always short on time and for the wait time and somewhat rush I do sympathize with them. It's unfortunate that they are literally the very best in all the niagara region. But there are a few things I will not pay for unless they are done perfectly:If my nails are oily the shellac won't stick properly- anyone with training in nails knows this. Why pay $25 more if it's going to lift and peel off within days. (FYI: the very next day!)Manicures so not include massages or any special treatment to your hands so paying for this is literally paying for your nails to be clipped/buffed and polished.Pedicures are not done with Gillette strips like most places (where they shave off calluses) instead they use something similar to the pedi-egg. Not as effective. Massages are rough and you're left waiting at the chair for a long time. My feet were like prunes by the time she came to do them.The stations are filthy and the shavings and remains from the buffering tools are just brushed off. This might work if they cleaned those brushes between customers but they don't. They reuse the same tools, the same files and the same brush.If you have shellac done they won't remove it with the proper treatment- that would cost them more time and money, nope they use the electric buffer tool to scrape it off your nail!There's a fantastic nail course at George Brown....in fact the aesthetics course at NC is pretty great too, I encourage they start enrolling before someone calls an inspection! I have a great nail tech that goes to my house and does them for me...she's certified from George Brown and opens up brand new files and tools every time she comes! Read Less

I went today for my first visit and made an appointment. The staff greeted me when I walked in and were very friendly. I had my acrylic nails taken off, my nails shaped, and then shellac applied. I have never had such a good experience at a nail salon. I am very picky when it comes to my nails. They took their time and went over and above to send me out with pretty professional nails. Had a great pedicure here with my cousin! Lots of color options, friendly staff, and everything seemed nice, new, and clean. I learned they just moved to this new location. The price was especially great at $25 for a pedicure and Nancy didn't skimp on the massage! The bathroom was dirty, which is why I dropped a star. Regardless, the services were good so I still would suggest you give Phoenix Nail a try! Read Less
