Had a great experience at Airbar. Went in for help putting a faux ponytail in (So a dry style). My stylist needed a little help and another came over (Teela in Palm Beach Gardens location)immediately and basically did everything but explained and taught the other what to do in my case. She put hair up effortlessly and secured the pony which was very heavy. All with a smile and in so little time. Pony stayed in through Charity Bike ride (pub crawl)in 100 heat all day long! Horrible service. Waited 30 min for a prebooked appt while they took 2 walk ins while I was sitting waiting. Booked for mani pedi only got a crappy mani because the lady who took me told me to sit in the chair to remove polish off nails I said I was for pedi too she said okay and it was never offered Nails filed unevenly, paint was thin. Told them I would like it fixed. She laughed and pretended she didn't understand or speak English. I got SHELLAC MANICURE for $28. My appt was at 4pm and I finished in 27 minutes. Which I thought was fairly quick but I was happy because I who likes sitting in a chair for over an hour. The lady who did my nails was so rough and kept hurting me. she didn't even do a correct manicure, didn't clean my nails/cuticles. I asked for a third layer because I like it a little thicker and she said "No". I then said, "please, I like having a third layer" and she said "No it's Ok". I thought this was weird because let's remember I am paying them for a service that they provide. If a customer wants something in a certain way they should get it because they are PAYING for it. UPDATE: 6pm. so 2hours later and my nails are ALREADY chipping. When I called in to complain the lady on the phone kept asking me what colour I got. It isn't about the colour. I got shellac. Point is, it shouldn't chip. I'm going back today to fix but I will NEVER return. UPDATE AGAIN: ONE DAY LATER AND TWO MORE NAILS CHIPPED. I HATE THIS PLACE.Read Less

I went in asking for a shellac mani. I was previously told that I could get a layer of gel under my shellac for $2.00 extra, so I asked if I could do that and they told me I could. What they didn't tell me was that they were going to charge me $10.00 extra instead of $2.00! Then she did my manicure un-even, there's a hair underneath the top layer, and she didn't give me a hand massage (she slapped on nail oil and lotion and left my hands super oily and greasy) because she wanted to get another client in quickly. My experience was complete and utter garbage and I was grossly over charged. I will NOT be returning, nor will I let any of my friends go to this absolute dump of a salon. Over all I do enjoy coming here for getting bedazzled sparkle nails. They have tons of options to choose from and lots of nice dangly nail charms too. There salon is more luxurious or chic I should say than most Asian nail salons. They use better quality than the other places I've tried like Pacific mall for example. The price is high but definitely worth it, and if you have issues they will stand behind their work and fix the nail for you. The ladies working here are very nice too and friendly. I recently moved out of downtown, and I've been going to same salon for over two years with the same technician. If my nail breaks or I want a colour change, I've been looking for a back up. I'm particular cause I always get bio gel with shellac for manicure. And I like shellac on my toes. And the nail tech downtown is so good - she knows exactly what I like and paints the colour smooth and flawless (no bumps or ridges). The downside is it takes her a long time to complete cause she takes her time. After reading various reviews with salons that use bio gel and trying out a few in Scarborough I wasn't impressed. I looked in Markham instead. And found this salon. Reviews were good, decided to try.I went yesterday. All the ladies were attentive when I walked in the door. One lady took my hand to look at my nails and the other took my name. They had a pretty good selection of shellac. I've seen more at other salons, but they had variety. They didn't have much OPI, which I prefer. But they had a ton of bio seaweed, which the colour always lasts well with this brand for shellac. The pedicure was super fast. The paint was flawless - no bumps, smooth finish. I did a colour change shellac - again excellent paint job. The woman reshaped/filed my nails exactly the way they were before. Which was awesome, didn't even tell her. Again this process was quick. They had all the latest hip hop hits playing in their ceiling speakers - wasn't a bad atmosphere.  Must have been an iPod, since no commercials or announcements like Sirius. Definitely go back for colour changes or pedicures. Not sure if I'm ready to give up the downtown location for bio gel refills. But Who knows, I may be open to changing after a few more visits. I was so pleased with my first visit to Airbar! I came in with my hair looking a mess and left with it looking fabulous !! I had my hair washed, blown out, and curled for a girls night out and I was so impressed with the end result.
