Darcie has put so much energy into creating a trendy, modern nail bar. She is definitely a trendsetter and it's been amazing to watch her success grow and grow. The shop is always spotless and on my first visit almost 2 years ago Darcie explained the hygiene procedures that she uses to ensure top notch safety. My nails are always amazing , and I love knowing that I can bring in just about any photo and it will be replicated to perfection. I love coming to Gelous to get my lashes done! The first time I had lashes applied (with another company), I had a reaction to the glue (sensitive eyes), and was so sad since I love having lash extensions. I talked to Darcie and she assured me that the products that they use are high quality and not likely to cause issues. So, I went for it. That was about 2 years ago and I've been going to Gelous ever since. They did a meticulous job with my manicure I have to admit but not sure if it was worth the 45$. Be careful with getting light colours because the products they use stain very easily. My nails are always done and this is the first time I've experienced staining/browning of my nails after a week. I regret not getting any of their cool design nails because that's what makes them the unique. I love to support local business but I gotta admit I'm kind of disappointed I didn't get the traditional hand soaking and etc. I felt dirty not having had hands washed then lotion being rubbed into my hands. Today was my first time visiting Gelous Beauty Bar and it's safe to say I will never go anywhere else! My fiancé surprised me with a manicure here, which I would've never booked for myself because I don't get my nails done often. But I'm so glad he booked an appointment for me! Their prices are more than most places around the city, but I promise it's for good reason. I had the privilege of winning a contest from @gelous beauty bar courtesy of @hilary Danielle and was absolutely impressed with the work! First I didn't know what I had won and found out it was for the lashes, all I did was simply mention "ah my lashes are long already" and she took the initiative to offer me a mani and pedi instead!!! I would of been happy with the manicure alone but to be offered not only a switch up but a double service! Right there I was super impressed a...nd very excited! ... Then I went!... and coming from the GTA she worked with my schedule and had alia (hope I spelt that right!) Work with me! She did an amazing job, is super friendly and I felt like I was hanging out with one of my friends ... On TOP of all this excellent service, quality product and gorgeous beauty bar, they both were amazing with my 10 month old son! Had a wonderful experience at Gelous. Darcie helped me grow out my nails for my wedding and then did a fantastic job mixing a custom color for the big day. My first mani lasted three whole weeks and she even fixed a cracked nail such that you could never tell it was broken. Her work is to the highest standards and she keeps her tools and equipment scrupulously clean. Will definitely be a repeat customer. Call early though as she books up quick! Read Less

The first word to come to mind is.... INCREDIBLE! My first experience with this business came about when a friend of mine took me along with her one day to have a pedicure as a little treat...and since then...I have never looked back (and that's saying something considering I have a severe "dislike" for feet! lol). ... My experiences thus far have been amazing. So much so, that I wanted to try the eyelash extensions service (something that I had never had done before) and all I can say is WOW! Her product knowledge and skills are exceptional. Her ability to help educate me on her products, their use and also how I should maintain my extensions and polish etc to get more longevity from them, has been fantastic. She has gone above and beyond to take care of my needs, even squeezing me in when I had a last minute special occasion to attend and was in severe panic mode.... Darcie was there! I am always reassured by her that if I have a problem or issue with anything (and there have been none to date) that she will always make herself available to rectify the situation, which to me, shows her dedication and commitment not only to her business...but also to her clientele! Her attention to detail, the salon cleanliness and it's ambience along with her personality and how I have been made to feel welcome each and every time I have visited, will have me coming back again and again.....and for someone who has never paid much care and attention to these types of services ...I can say I'm officially hooked! :) Thank you for making my many "first" and continued experiences so wonderful.
