Every time I go here seriously my hair never comes out with what I had in mind. Even if I bring a picture to show as an example of what I wanted it doesnt look the slightest bit like it. My hair cut is fantastic but the price was not. Why does a shaved back haircut for hair less than shoulder length require a master stylist and why would you not tell me when I asked for the lowest end. I've been going to Shelby for awhile now. The first haircut was a pretty big job (cutting off 15 inches of hair), and while the bangs/face framing was a little bit irritating, it was overall a decent cut. I haven't really gotten anything overly fancy done since then, but she's a pretty good stylist. She's very friendly and good with customer service. However, the other staff seems snobbish and easily distractable. When trying to book or pay for an appointment in person, they always seem to make you feel unwelcome just by the tone of their voices. I've also seen them walk away from a customer to stand and chat with somebody, while the customer sat there looking around like "What the heck, where'd they go?". Horrible service. The manager is extremely rude and unprofessional. I always get shellac manicure done and am familiar with it. I got shellac manicure done at this salon and it got chipped in less than 24hrs. When i went back (in less than 24hrs) to get it fixed the manager was very rude and the aesthetician (Natalie) put the wrong color and the chip is visible. When i asked them to remove it completely so that i can get it done somewhere else and they can keep the money for the service if they want. In response the manager asked me to leave. I am hoping the salon will have the decency to contact me and apologize. I have pictures of the mess made, if the owner would like to see it. I found this gem in Fairview Mall about a month ago. I went to see Wonder Woman at the Cineplex VIP across the street, but it was sold out (surprise, surprise). I was overdue for a manicure and when I googled what was still open in the middle of the week at 8:00pm, this was the closest one. They were gracious enough to fit me in and Bri took very good care of me.Yesterday, I went for waxing, manicure and pedicure. Again, they fit me in with short notice and my daughter as well! I was reminded why I came back. The spa is tucked away at the very back of the salon, hidden by frosted glass. It is serene, with muted lighted and relaxing music. The pedicure area reminds me of a Roman bath with the tile and cushions. Maha and Tacita were wonderful and attentive, both very fun and talented ladies. I especially appreciated Tacita who gave extra attention to my (very shy) daughter's feet, with very patient exfoliation and an extended foot rub. Maha has a very gentle touch, and when she massaged my hands it was the perfect end to a long day. I will admit that I gravitated to the Asian nail salons in the past based on price. I must say that the prices at Tonyc are not that much higher and can be the same if they are running a special. The products used are not harsh and the air does not have the pervasive solvent smell so common in many nail salons. Definitely worth the little extra $, and this is coming from a certified penny pincher. We'll definitely be back! Read Less

Went in as a walk in needed my hair cut for a wedding, the guy messed up my facial hair when he tried to touch it up, and when he did my hair he had to go over it multiple times. Was not happy with the service, now I have to try to go elsewhere before the wedding. Read Less

Before Christmas I walked into Tonyc to have a haircut that I desperately needed. I had my two Toddlers in tow. One of which was teething and miserable.Kelly managed to give me an exceptional haircut in under 20 minutes all while my son was on my lap. I even got a much needed hug before I left! I went to Tonic Hair Salon as a walk-in. I requested to have my bangs trimmed. Normally, I go to my regular hair salon in Mississauga but, since I was in Kitchener and was shopping for the day. I figured it's bangs how complicated could it be!? Unfortunately, this was a very hard task for the stylist, I even showed her a photo of how I want my bangs to look like. So she gathered my bangs and cut it in one big swoop. At first, I didn't really paid attention to the details so when she asked if I liked it...I said yes and she breathed a sigh of relief and said "great! then I can give you my contact card". It was only until I got into my car did I realize it was SHORT and UNEVEN. There's no way of hiding it!! So, to anyone who plans to have their hair done...think twice...if they can't cut bangs (and keep in mind I have straight hair) I can't imagine what they're capable of....and based on the results and the other reviews....not much. Had a horrible experience by staff here. Have a teen who has anxiety issues and took her in to be pampered. Talking to the cosmetician and she kept harping on my daughter until she started crying! You could see my daughter getting upset and I tried to tell her to ease up but no, she kept going. Hope she feels like a big person now when she's really a heartless bully. Called and talked to the area manager who said she would call me back - never to be heard from again. There are so many good places out there - DON'T GO HERE! Go someplace where the staff have a heart. We had other experiences there that weren't great but this is definitely the last straw for us and I am happy to pass the word to everyone I'm talking to!
