Excellent Service and a very Friendly Enviroment! When you walk in you are greeted right away as you check in. The waiting room is massive and has a peaceful ambience to it. I went here for the first time today to get my hair done. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for an excellent cut and/or colour! The stylists are great, specifically Katty Phillips, who did an amazing job on my hair!! I love it so much and I’ve gotten so many compliments already!! She is an extremely talented stylist! The staff is friendly and professional, the salon is clean and the atmosphere is inviting. I am looking at all the Kingston Spas at this moment and checking reviews, before I book a spa day with my niece in a few weeks. I had treated myself and my niece to a spa day years ago at Serenity Spa. After reading the reviews, I can see they haven't changed much in attitude. My first experience at a spa was Serenity. After which, I wondered if people just accept feeling like it was more like a clinic, why make us wait half an hour in a waiting room. Isn't it suppose to make you feel pampered? People there treat you like an obligation making the experience cold. no kindness, eye contact reflected indifference. even the desk people were snooty. Myself into guest were in for 6 hours each which was for services and a meal. The services ranged from very good to exceptional and I would recommend any of hairdressing, facials, body wraps, pedicures, and massage. The staff were all excellent. They were eager to please and friendly. The only place this fall short is if you're looking for a true Day Spa experience. We were given robes but they were practically see through and not warm at all. The slippers provided are hard plastic. The transition between services felt like we were going from appointment to appointment rather than being in a spa with the luxurious and pampering feel. I also would not recommend eating here. We ordered when we first got there because they cater the food. When we ask what the special was we were told there was none. Out of the 3 remaining items I ordered a soup and sandwich and when I sat down to eat received fruit and cheese being told they were out of everything. Being starving was not the most lovely feeling for the last 2 hours. I would highly recommend going back here as long as you know where the shortfalls are. I've been to Serenity & have purchased spa gift certificates for others many times over the years. I've had many different services done. All services have been wonderful, no complaints whatsoever. However, on a few occasions I have been "forgotten" up in the cafe. I've had to go back to the front desk to see what was going on as my appt time has come and now 15-20+ minutes past. My only suggestion would be, if the spa employee is running behind, the spa guest should be notified so they don't feel forgotten. Read Less

Very disappointing. The pedicure tub seemed dirty and it Felt like I had to tell the lady how to give me a pedicure, took way too much skin off my feet so they are very sore (I told her she was taking too much off and she continued and said trust me). She cut my nails down past the skin and I came out with more polish on my feet than my nails. I was glad that she forgot about my brow waxing I had booked and glad to walk out to go somewhere else. I booked Serenity for my wedding party on August 26, 2017. First off I came to the trial with pictures of the hair and makeup i wanted, The hair was exactly how i wanted although i think the whole hour i was sitting there the girl said 10 words to me... not very good with customer service. The makeup however was a whole other story. She seemed like she was 15 years old and told me oh by the way our air makeup machine isn't working so is regular makeup ok?. ...I told her "well... its not like i can change my mind because my wedding was in a week" After a long while of her keeping asking me what types of make up and what colors I wanted (even though i had a very specific picture ) she finally got it to something i considered acceptable. She took a picture with and without my eyes closed and also said she would write down the lip color so she would remember. When i got there on my wedding day they started doing all the girls makeup first, (I was the last to go ) and she turned on the air brush machine. It finally worked i guess... which if that was the case, all the girls had requested air brush makeup, as we have had this done last year at a different salon and it was amazing. Well lets just say I am SOOOO glad my girls didnt have it done. She turned me pale as a ghost even though i specifically said 3-4 times i didnt wanna be pale as i am pretty tan. Once i told her 5 or 6 times to make me less pale she added a bit more color , Then i noticed she sprayed the air brush all through the front of my hair! it made me look like i had grey hair all over!!!... I was so angry and even pointed it out and she just snickered and said oh haha yeah that happens...The final straw was she was applying mascara and i asked her ...:"This is water proof right" she said ... "Oh no it isnt water proof, they never buy water proof" WTF??? IM GETTING MARRIED AND YOU PUT NON WATER PROOF MASCARA on me and 5 girls?? She had told me in the trial it was water proof... I was soooo heated!... The front desk girl was shoving mimosas down my throat and told me how she got me two cause the day will be stressful , the day was going great untill i went to Serenity and than it was ruined... i couldn't even show full emotion at my wedding cause i was afraid my mascara would run, also i had to get someone to put brown makeup in my hair to cover all her air brush makeup!!!... I would NOT recommend Serenity. They hair stylists are very good, the makeup and front desk are not experienced enough. Please do not ruin anyone else day as you have done mine. Also... Went for a hair/nail appt on a gift card for my birthday. I waited for almost 40 minutes for my hair appt. Then when got called hair stylist told me she was running late and other wash my hair or blow dry/style it. Because she was 40 minutes behind most she could do is a dry cut and my 1 hour appt would be cut in half. Very or a SPA experience I was so looking forward to. I booked a spa day for my daughter, my daughter-in-law and myself on April 1st. I booked and paid for massages, pedicures and manicures to the tune of $565.00 not including tip. We left the spa and went immediately to a restaurant for dinner and my daughter-in/laws nail polish was peeling off. That was only a fraction of all that was wrong as both my manicure and pedicure were beyond a mess, not surprising given none of us even saw anything that resembled a dryer on our hands and feet. I took pictures of the "messes" and sent them to the Spa first thing Monday morning and requested a refund of part of what I paid. I was told a refund could not be authorized but they would send me a gift certificate. I received the certificate but realized after this absolutely horrible experience why in the name of heaven would I want to go back there. I wrote a letter and included a copy of the certificate and said I did not wish to return to their establishment, would return the certificate and wanted a refund. To date, I have not received a response and I advised them I would take to social media if they did not have the common decency to respond. That letter was mailed 7 weeks ago so I am following through with what I said I was going to do. I am a legal assistant and also advised I will definitely proceed to obtain a refund through proper legal channels. I hope to post photos in the comments of this thread . Went to a haircut at the Spa several times and it was really good. The hairdresser knew exactly what i wanted for my hairstyle and gave lots of good suggestions. I was part of a wedding party that had a appointment there for make up and hair! The makeup was beautiful!! However the hair was a different story, it was a tarrible experience! We all showed pictures of what we wanted, they didn't do it, I have natural curly hair, I was told my hair wouldn't curl right! I ended up leaving the salon and went back to hotel and had to curl my own hair! Every time I go there, rather it's to get my brows, nails or hair done they always kill it! I just got lash extensions for the first time and they look amazing, Melanie killed it! The place is nice, the people pretty friendly, but not all of them are competent. I got a truly mediocre (crappy?) pedicure. Left with my feet still covered in dead peeling skin (granted they were in rough shape, but that's WHY you get a pedicure, and if there was a problem I wish she would have said something - I discovered this after she walked out of the room), nails shaped unevenly (one still jagged) and different lengths between feet, nail polish thinly and unevenly applied, not on parts of some nails and ON the tips of my toes (no clean up as she went). Note that the friend I went with got a perfectly reasonable pedicure at the same time, so it clearly just depends who you get. But I won't be back to try my luck again. Read Less

stopped in here today for an impromptu massage. was told it was $75 for a 60-min massage.kaitlyn, my RMT, totally relaxed me and left me feeling great.went to pay, but now price was $80+$4 *spa fee* [+hst].  this bait-n-switch may not have been intentional, but it was annoying nonetheless.when i asked about the price change i was told RMTs charge a different rate than the ones posted. why wasn't this mentioned beforehand???  and why wasn't this strange *spa fee* mentioned before as well???in the end, the receptionist removed the extra $5 charge, but then told me i couldn't claim this massage in my medical benefits.  again, what???this experience started out great, but left a bad taste in my mouth.  it's not the cost that bothered me, it's the fact that no one seemed to be on the same page and no one cared to rectify this for the customer.if you stop by serenity for a massage, definitely ask for kaitlyn, but make sure you clarify prices before you settle in.
