I visit Dolce Bella fairly often - the atmosphere and staff are great (I really hate leaving!) and the service itself is always lovely. However, I use a wheelchair and I feel that there is slight room for improvements, in terms of accessibility. The limitations often mean that I have to miss out on parts of the procedures - which is not pleasant; emotionally or financially. I'm paying for a full package, so, I hope to get the full experience... Their most ''accessible'' room ...includes a giant tub. This tub takes up most of the space and so it's difficult to get changed or to move around and transfer, there. Once I can get onto the bed, I'm limited. The beds are quite narrow; which, for me, is somewhat of a fall-risk. But, also: There have been several occasions where I went for a 45min, full massage. According to my assigned RMT, the procedure including flipping over and rotating between laying on my back vs my stomach. My spine is fused with rods and screws, this means that I cannot turn or flex in the same way as most people; which is where the need for a SLIGHTLY wider bed comes in - In order to flip over, I need room to roll. Transferring from the bed to my chair can be a challenge, too. In short, I am not able to do this without a caregiver - and in order for my carer to assist me, the person needs to interrupt their own spa experience to come help. This is embarrassing and unfair, for everyone. Because of this, I often choose to not disturb them, and so this is why I end up missing part of my service. It would be nice to not have to. As a solution, I would suggest (and respectfully urge) Dolce Bella to either purchase a few wider beds and/or sit two standard beds next to eachother - which would create a wider surface...for the Transferring part, all that's needed is a grab bar or two - these can either be added to the nearest walls, or you can purchase vertical poles that suction to the ceiling & floor. Little things, not a complete overhaul...But :) They would make a world of difference. Not just for the disabled, but also for elderly clients. Maybe even expectant mothers!
