Absolutely LOVE Bare Wax Bar. Best waxing salon I've ever been to. Found this gem when I was living in Hamilton, and now that I live in Toronto I still travel back here as often as I can. I usually see Christina for Brazilian, but I have also seen Chris, and both are great! Christina works very quickly to get it over with and does a thorough job at the same time. Great experience! I went in as a wax-virgin and terrified. The facility was spotless and relaxing atmosphere. The technician and staff very professional and helped set me at ease. The procedure was not exactly painless but the tech did a fantastic job and I cannot say enough good things. No bruising, redness gone within hours and she did a great job. Very professional service, definitely worth recommending! Clean place with nice, private rooms, each of them has a TV screen with shows playing - you can watch to kill time or have a chat with the staff member taking care of you. Not a single hair left on the serviced areas, skin was also cleansed and conditioned - there were no signs of skin irritation the next day. Mind that this place is VERY popular and if you want to book your appointment at a specific day and time you should do it at least two weeks in advance to make sure you get what you want - trying to book a week before might be tricky ;) I had problems with booking online since there wasn't a sufficient time slot available for all the services I wanted done. Ended up contacting the ladies directly and they helped me out by arranging it with small time gaps in between. The last 2 times I have been here were absolutely terrible. It is WAY overpriced for subpar service. The first time I went, I had wax dropped in my hair and had to spend an hour trying to get it out. Both times I went I left looking like nothing had even been done to my eyebrows. I can understand if this was the result if I had paid $3 to get my eyebrows done but I had paid $18 plus tip. I have never had my lower region waxed before and was extremely nervous. Marion made me feel so comfortable and relaxed and took my anxiety level from a 10 to a 1 instantly! I love this place. The service is world class and it shows because sometimes you have yo wait a week for an appointment. Long overdue, but this place is EXCELLENT. Trust the reviews! These ladies are friendly and super professional! No judgement here, they've seen it all. You can easily take your time discussing exactly what you want done (ex. for eyebrows) and they will listen. I had a great eyebrow and upper lip waxing done by Christina today, and have been a regular with Christine for brazilians. If you are concerned about going in for an appointment give them a call first and they will give... you tips on how to prep. I've recommended numerous friends to come here and I think it's safe to say all the ladies that work here are great. I've also had great experiences in the past with them squeezing an extra service (like upper lip) into my appointment when I've forgotten to book it. An OK wax bar. Love that you can book online and they usually do a good job. My only issue is that they always seem to leave wax on me after my treatments which is a huge pet peave of mine when it comes to waxing. LOVE this place! I just started school at McMaster and was looking for a place to get Brazilian waxes. I tried looking on Yelp, but it seemed like most salons had few reviews (other than the 10 spot, which is a chain in Ontario). Luckily, I drove past this wax bar one day, and decided to set up an appointment. It's super easy to book an appointment online, and they have 6 estheticians who work there part-time. I believe they're open 6 days a week, 9am-7pm Monday to Friday, and 10am-6pm on Saturdays. The wax bar is chicly decorated, and has a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere. I love the decorations and colour scheme, and the lotions that they have to sample at the front of the store. The rooms are clean, warm and beautifully decorated just like the front desk area. The Brazilian wax itself is professionally done, and as painless as something like this can be. The estheticians are so warm and friendly, and make sure you feel comfortable throughout the whole service. They have 2 different types of waxes, one that requires a strip of paper to pull off, and a hard wax that's used in more sensitive areas. They also use a calming tea tree oil lotion to reduce inflammation in waxed areas. The whole process takes about 15-30 min depending on the person. In terms of price, Bare Wax Bar is definitely on the cheaper end! It's $43 for a full Brazilian wax, and $40 for the "bare a little less." It's also 10% off Monday-Thursday from 1pm-3pm on all services.Overall, I will definitely be back!
