A gem of a nail salon in Guelph. Although they don't take walk-ins, if you call same day they will always do their best to fit you in as they are very busy!! Since moving to Guelph about 2 years ago I've tried a number of salons and have had pretty terrible experiences. I decided to give Mickey Nails a try this time on a whim and am SO pleased that I did. Lily did my pedicure and she was very professional, kind, and thorough. In fact all of the staff were very pleasant and attentive. The salon was very clean and atmosphere is nice as there is soft music playing and there wasn't much hustle and bustle when I was there. Love this nail salon! Recently moved to guelph and had to find a new nail salon. I get bio gel nails every 3-4 weeks. Mickey nails bio gel nails last for 4 weeks every time with no chipping! Friendly and clean! I got a shellac and it lasted until my next pedicure which is pretty unusual for me -- I am pretty hard on pedicures. When I watched them clean the basins down, they actually cleaned them. They didn't just spray the tub and give it a couple wipes like some places do. Will definitely be back. Read Less

Wonderful experience! I was disappointed by my lack of service at another nail place in Guelph so tried calling Mickey's for a same day appointment. Originally they were all booked up. Less than an hour later I get a call back saying they had a cancellation so I booked my appointment. I arrived on time and was seated right away! Very impressed! Great, friendly service and super cheap! I got shellac (old stuff taken off and new put on). The process was quick and gentle! The new colour is great (I was also impressed by the choices - so many I saw that I'd looked for at other place, but could never find) and she put 3 coats on automatically (I usually have to ask). I came here for the first time a few days ago with a friend to get our nails done. They were friendlier than I was expecting, which made me like the place right away. I asked for an ombré French manicure with sparkles and snowflake designs (acrylic set with shellac as well). They were hesitant to do it at first and they started talking amongst themselves saying things like "it's too much work" in Vietnamese. I could understand it, but they didn't know this. After some discussion, they decided to proceed. The lady was fairly nice, but she worked extremely slow.. I was starting to fall asleep an hour into the session, and she was STILL trying to shape my nails! It took 2 hours for everything and costed me $40. This is a bit more pricey than other places, but I was okay with it because my nails turned out pretty nice. Now this is where this salon lost this customer - about 20 hours later, my nail polish started peeling off! I couldn't believe this because I spent $40 on it, and it took 2 hours of my time. It got worse as each day went by, and it's not like I'm doing vigorous work with my hands/nails to have it peel off like this. I paid an extra $10 for shellac which is suppose to make my nails last AT LEAST 2 weeks, but this didn't even last more than a day, so I feel like they ripped me off! I put on a top coat from home, and it's the only reason why it looks like how it is now in the photos, or else it'd be way worse. My friend who came with me is also very upset. She wanted them to fix this ONE nail they messed up the paint job on and they refused her. Her nail polish is also starting to peel and chip.What's funny is that a cashier at Sears complimented my nails, asked me where I got them done, and when I told them "Mickey Nails", they replied with "Me too! But look what happened after a day" and she showed me her chipped nail polish. I'm very disappointed in this place. I thought it would be my new go-to nail salon in Guelph. Although the people are slightly nicer than other nail salons that I've been to, it's definitely NOT worth the price. I've had an acrylic set and shellac done before at other places and it would last me upwards to a month and a half. This was a waste of my time and money and I will not be going back. This place is likely the best nail salon in this part of Guelph. They are clean, professional and efficient. The salon is beautiful- top notch equipment, soothing music, and a calming, tranquil colour scheme. I always am able to get exactly the style I want and the techs make my dreams a reality.
