I visited this salon while I was in the Cambridge area visiting my son and daughter-in-law. I had an appointment booked for 2 PM and I arrived quite early as I am very unfamiliar with the area and hadn’t wanted to be late. I sat and waited till precisely 2 PM while watching walk ins being served even though I had asked if I might be seen earlier. When my pedicure commenced it was not unpleasant experience but the time taken was incredibly limited compared to my visits to other salons. When it came time to do my manicure I felt that the young lady was now in a rush as there were people waiting. I should have been watching her more closely as she absolutely butchered my nails which I did not immediately notice as I was taken directly to a room to have a lip and eyebrow waxing. She did my upper lip first, stating that this is the worst pain so we will get it over with. I was shocked that she applied no soothing lotions until she was finished with my eyebrows so my lip was pulsing throughout the eyebrow waxing. She applied a small bit of lotion at the end. When I retrieved my belongings and reached for my credit card I noticed that there was actual dirt still under my nails and I asked her to clean them. She reluctantly cleaned under my thumbs and was going to stop and I asked her to please do the rest. Approaching the front desk she stated that the fee was $58. I handed her my credit card and when she passed back the machine to me the readout said $65.54. When I questioned this she said “if you use a card you pay sales tax”. So, I presume if you pay cash which most do, this salon does not collect or remit proper taxes. From the time my first service commenced, water being prepared in the pedicure chair, to payment was exactly 1 hour and 5 minutes. This was for Pedicure, Manicure and Eyebrows and Lip waxing. Record setting time in my experiences to date. Upon arriving home I had to spend time redoing my nails so that they would not be ragged on all edges.
