Victoria is amazing! After years of struggling to grow my nails she has recommended a good maintenance routine, the right products, and does great work! A comfortable and friendly atmosphere every time I visit. One recommendation would be to expand the colour choices for shellac polishes as I find them very limited in comparison to the regular polish options. Not a good experience with Tonya at this location. (She was pleasant but here is the reason for the two star review.) She missed a chunk of my hair while I was getting it dyed luckily after about 10 minutes of processing I noticed and was able to get her to apply dye to it....... Also I went in there specifically saying the only thing I don't want is black hair and yet here I am with black hair / dark brown pieces.... I asked to get as close to my natural as possible which is a light to medium brown. (My hair was blonde at the time.) Not impressed. Read Less

I visited the head shoppe today for a haircut. I had not had one in an embarrassingly long time (growing out an old bad cut) so I was apprehensive too get one done. I ended up seeing Meghan, shes a newer stylist but was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I have to say--she did an amazing job!! I was really worried about loosing a lot of length despite knowing a lot had to go to make it healthy again. She managed to trim off just enough, but still left it at a perfect length. She even recommended a 3 step hair treatment to help get my hair back in order. It was a lovely service: and I will be going back to her again. Great job Meghan! Read Less

I've always received exceptional treatment at the Portland street head shoppe. I saw Jenna for a couple of years and she got my hair looking better than ever and was always so pleasant to deal with! Sadly, due to being a mom I struggle to find the time to book in with her anymore as she's so popular. I called in last week for a colour (I'm not a professional, don't claim to be and did not know I'd need lightened too), so I showed up a little late, which I apologized for but I... had just driven from Bedford with a 2 year old. I was then rudely greeted by Mandy who informed me she wouldn't have time to do my hair today (I was only 15 minutes late). She spoke down to me as though it was my fault I didn't know I'd need lightened, when it's not my job to. I'm sad after years of amazing service that I've had this experience today. I will be rebooking but hopefully with a hairdresser that doesn't speak rudely to me and makes me feel dumb for not knowing every treatment that my hair may require. See More Read Less

I look so bad right now I do not want to go out of my house. My stylist was sweet and nice but new and I wanted ombre blond hair and I have the first half of my head dark red and the rest bright blond. I have an appointment to have it fixed but I don't think I want to come back to the Head Shoppe for fear of it getting worse. It was the first time I ever left a hair appointment devastated and in tears. I do not want to go to work tomorrow. I think your more experienced staff could've helped her out and given her more advise on how to achieve what I was looking for. Been going to see Alan for years now. Great cuts , fair price, nice salon with upbeat yet relaxed environment. They have a great selection of product but never push you to purchase. All the little touches they do make a really good experience every time. Read Less

I went  in there to get a full head of highlights. I arrived on time for my appointment time and I didn't get to sit until 20-30 mins after.After the foils my hair lightened quite a bit which was what I wanted ( I asked for a full head of highlights after all). Then the girl probably put the wrong toner and everything became the same color as what I had before (all dark).I was very unhappy with the results. Now I have to get them done again somewhere's else because my hair still looks exactly the same as I came in. The hairdresser didn't even want to accept the fact she made a mistake but told me it would get lighter with time... (maybe it will but that's not what I came there for)They wasted 4 hours of my time  and $140. Not to mention the damage on my hair (from the bleach) now that I have to get them done again.
