My one and only place to go to get my nails done, period. I moved across the city and trek out to American Nails faithfully. Great quality work, 100's of colors of shellac and polish to pick from, my nails never lift, perfect shape, never bumpy and not thick. The shop is spotless. Sometimes you have to wait a bit longer when they're busy but it's worth it, I usually call on my way for an idea of how busy they are so my expectations are reasonable or I just wait a bit to go, if they say come in 30 minutes, etc. I get compliments on my nails all the time. I just had the most wonderful deluxe pedicure with shellac polish. Just brilliant! My gel nails look so real! This is by far the best set of nails and pedicure I've ever had. I had pretty high hopes going in to American Nails, having many friends who have gone here in the past I thought I’d give it a try myself. I almost always have my nails done & have had them done at many different places. This was my first time here and it was definitely a very uncomfortable and unpleasant experience. I had a “Deluxe pedicure” and “Gel Nails”(which isn’t even real Gel). But before I get into that, when I first arrived I was told to have a seat and they’d be with me shortly. I had to wait about 25-30 minutes before anyone got to me which was fine, today was my day off so I had time anyways. It’s now about I picked my Shellac polish and she began my pedicure, at first the water was too cold and she adjusted it. The whole time it felt like my Nail tech was rushing, at some points she wasn’t even looking at what she was doing & was paying attention to the other ladies next to me. She actually managed to cut open my cuticle on my big toe with the nail buffer. She apologized and just continued on anyways and just rushed through the rest of it, not even taking to me at all. Everything was mediocre about it and I ended up being cut in the process. Yet it ended up being $50 for just the pedicure. at this point I’ve already been here over an hour and 15 minutes or so. Moving onto the “Gel Nails”. It’s not even Gel so they should not be advertising it as such. It was now a male who was working on my nails, the whole time he was rushing and even kept getting up during the process and was more focused on the people coming through the front door then what he was working on. When I had my hand under the UV light after applying the “Gel” the skin under my nails started to literally burn and he just told me to take my hands out and moved on as if that’s normal. That has never happened to me before anywhere else. I asked him if he could match my manicure colour to my pedicure colour, which was a complete miss by the way it doesn’t match at all not even close. In the end my “Gel nails” look very butchered up close and some are crooked. If you look at the cuticles they look very butchered as well. The nails look very thick and bubbly looking at them from the side and do not look like they were shaved down evenly. It looks like a child’s manicure. At this point I’ve been there now well over 2 hours , and they really only spent about 40 minutes of that time actually working on me. I just didn’t want to stay there any longer I got out of there as quick as I could. I tipped them both after even though they did not deserve it. I will not be returning just because they don’t seem to care about taking their time with things and constantly seem in a rush. They should probably have a little more organization there with the staff so people don’t have to wait so long. I noticed several other ladies who had to leave before they were done cause the whole process was taking to long. The “Gel Nails” and “Deluxe Pedicure” costed $107 at the end. How I’m not sure, but I didn’t even want to ask. I don’t suggest this place. Over priced for the effort they put into their services. Or at least that was my personal experience. Read Less

Second time here. The guy who did my nails last time remembered me, how sweet! Paid $56 for gel nails before tip (another worker said it's $52 if you use the ATM and pay cash but I didn't bother) I'm in love with my nails and will keep coming back. Clean facilities, friendly staff, there's always a recent movie playing on their tvs. Staff are a little hard to understand at times but don't seem to mind repeating themselves. Read Less

Great Salon. Very clean and nice atmosphere however I will only give 4 stars as the prices are very misleading. I asked for acrylic (priced @ $35 on the board) and I wanted a matte finish so I expected it would be $5 more. In the end I paid $65 + $5 tip. I got “ballerina” shaped nails and they just make up the prices based on how long you want your nails to be. I asked for a little longer and he said “$2 more” so I asked for a little less long and it went down $2? I have never heard of this in another salon. Other than that, staff are very friendly. I've been a loyal customer for 2+ years and never made a fuss about how insanely slow they were. The whole time I have been coming they knew I lived in LA and would come I regularly every 2-3wks for a fill and pedicure. TODAY the lady decided to charge me $5 for having had to take off my gel polish from "somewhere else". I don't mind paying extra for service but your rule is insulting and stupid. I was here just recently for the first time. The salon is nice and clean and the staff is welcoming. I had a shellac pedicure and came out happy with the application. However, two days later the polish looks a bit dull.. This, and the fact that they charged me more for the shellac removal "because it wasn't theirs" (it was applied at another salon), is why I only give four stars. The only place I go for my nails. They last long and look great. The girls who do the pedicures do AMAZING nail art. Sometimes it's a bit busy during the evening and weekends but anywhere that is good will be like that. The couple that own it are the sweetest.
