I wanted to love this place and make it my new place for a wax.  Nope, not going to happen.On the strength of reviews here, I made an appointment for a brow wax.  Being my first time, I was expecting some kind of consultation with the waxer.  Nope, didn't happen.  I walked into the waxing room and the staff member said "brow wax, right?", which I thought was just the start of the conversation.  Nope, that apparently was the entire consultation.  I hadn't even laid down properly on the table and she slapped the wax on my face, right in the area where I was about to tell her not to wax, because it's my problem area.  Ummmm, thanks!  One whole year of growing that hair back in completely ruined.I think I got about 5 words in total out of the staff member.  I was surprised, considering the great reviews she has online.  I'm convinced that her friends wrote those reviews, as my experience was terrible.  Maybe it was a one off, who knows; but I won't be going back to find out. I've been to Frilly Lilly twice now, and I am never going back to my old place - it's freakin' awesome here! I see Jackie for waxing (underarms and bikini) and she is by far the best I've ever experienced. I had a traumatic waxing experience years ago (think skin ripped off, blood, scabbing for weeks...nasty), but I've started looking a bit sasquaatchy so I've decided to give it another go. Jackie makes you feel totally comfortable even when your bum 'oley is exposed, which is not an easy feat.Cannot say enough good things about this place and Jackie...highly highly recommend! I've been a loyal customer of Frilly Lilly in Vancouver since it opened a few years ago. It's one of my go-to places for manis and pedis. Laura has been my esthetician almost the entire time. I always receive fantastic service and quality and for an awesome value!I was just in Victoria recently for a work conference and really needed to get my nails done. After doing a quick search, I find that Frilly Lilly had a Victoria location. Bonus! Their great reputation crosses over to the island. I had an amazing last-minute manicure, perfect for my evening event. Jackie did my nails, and she was super attentive and personable. Sometimes it can be hard to find a good nail salon that is always consistent, but Frilly Lilly definitely nails it. Love the classy decor too. Read Less

In a pinch a popped into Frilly Lilly (having knowing about the Vancouver location!)Thankfully they had room for a last min appt!I saw Amanda and let me tell you, that girl knows what she's doing! Took her time to explain their waxing technique and of course used NEW STICKS every time! Which is a make or break for me. Painless, clean, and speedy. Couldn't ask for better. I don't understand you ladies who choose to go somewhere cheaper and risk getting infections, it's beyond disgusting.  YUCK.Frilly Lilly is the cutest from the minuet you walk in. I was so thrilled to find this newly opened esthetics spa in Victoria. It is so girly and fabulous. Great brazilians! They even offer high quality eyelash extensions, I believe it is one of the only places in Victoria that offers doctor approved extensions. Their product line is really good to, my favourite is the foot scrub! Read Less
