I’ve been coming here the past few months. I always get excellent service. The staff are friendly and the technicians always do a good job. They ask to see if everything is ok and don’t just go ahead and do whatever. My nails also last a long time. One picture is 5 week old nails; no chipping, peeling, or anything. I’ve been going here for over a year, and every time I never leave disappointed. If you are getting a regular manicure or gel I always go to Mimi. But recently have been getting acrylic fills. Jenny is the best at shaping. She is very meticulous which I appreciate, because I get coffin nails. Which can very easily be done wrong, and look boxy and square. She always checks if you like the shape before going ahead and adding the color. And adds extra powder to the corners of the acrylics so they do not lift. Never feel like I am being rushed or pushed aside. I live in Steveston, but happily make the trip to Yaletown to get my nails done. Other nail salons, take note this is how you run a nail business! This place is one of the best places you can get your nails done downtown, hands down. I think the reason for bad reviews is their unrealistic expectations of nail art capability, are you an artist because if so; do your own nails. I have never, in my two years of going here had a problem. Snow is my absolute favourite, she is so sweet we keep in contact between my appointments. I get a gel manicure, because I do not require acrylic nails, she is so attentive and always jokes with me about how much I love sparkles. They keep track of previous colours that I have chosen and Snow even remembers, she's lovely. I hate seeing this nail place have bad reviews, frankly the bad reviews are either made by people with unrealistic expectations or people with hate to say it, crappy nails? Could it be? To say this place is unsanitary is a lie, I go before they open some mornings to get my nails done and Snow is getting all of their tools ready and packaged for the day of work ahead. I love Yaletown Nail Spa, and I'll never go anywhere else. These ladies are hard working, kind, and considerate. The manager and owner April is so nice and accommodating and she does her job so well. This place is lovely! Got my first set of acrylic shellac nails and they were gorgeous. Jasmine did them and shaped them perfectly. However, since I was new to the process, but my nails were too long to play my guitar. They cut them and re-polished them the next day free of charge. Yaletown Nail Spa is one of the salons I frequent whenever I need a last minute fill or new set. They're very accommodating; even if I call day of, they always try to squeeze me in.Price point here is very reasonable for the Yaletown area and that's what keeps me coming back. The quality of the manicure is dependent on who you happen to get that day - I'd recommend Li if you can request her as she seems to be the most meticulous with the shaping. However, service can be rather brusque. Yaletown Nail Spa is definitely not a place you go for a relaxing, pampering experience. I've also gotten cut while having my nails shaped a few times, but they're always very apologetic and offer me a discount. I was here the other day. Getting my French gel nail for my engagement ring💍❤️French nail is not easy to do with the smile line for the white part but they did great job. I would definitely recommend this place especially for people who don't have much time. They did it with very short time. A while back I had a bad experience here so never went back. However, my friend continuously gets her nails done here and they always look so great so I decided to give them another try. They are very busy(yet accomodating) with many workers so perhaps some are more experienced than others. This time I got Jenny and she did a fantastic job and gave me exactly what I asked for. The shape is spot on and so is the white tip fade. My nails are smooth and the length is even on all fingers. So now I would definitely go back! Read Less

I took my 11 year old daughter in to have her hair braided. Melonie the stylist was amazing. She made my daughter feel very comfortable from the very beginning and did an excellent job with her hair. She even offered her tips on how to care for her hair and skin in between visits. We'll be coming back again and again as long as Melonie is there. Read Less

At least your receptionist gets poor rating. Didn't even get to the hairstylist, as I walked out after 25 minutes of wait. Not even "sorry it's taking so long", maybe "would you like some water while you wait?", nothing! Come to think of it, hair stylist gets a poor rating too - she didn't walk out to apologize after the previous client left, maybe say that she's just getting ready or something like that.
