Came in with my mother to get a gel mani/pedi for mothers day. All the staff were friendly and the salon was very clean, but the quality of service I received was lacking. The nail tech did not introduce herself, so I have no idea what her name was. She was friendly enough but seemed rather bored or unhappy with her job. The foot massage was pretty much non existant - I'm pregnant and was really looking forward to this. Meanwhile my mom is sitting next to me raving about how amazing her foot massage feels. I wouldn't let her trim my toenails so those look great, but she ruined my fingernails. I keep my nails relatively well shaped, but had a few break and asked her to make them all level. She overdid it and made my nails very short and then tapered the sides in too much. 10 days later and I still hate the way they look. Not to mention my gel polish started to lift after a week (my moms manicure still looks flawless). I don't want to give the salon a bad review as I didn't mind it, but the nail tech was not good. I just got a Brazilian wax from Anne. It was the most painless and efficient wax I have EVER had. I would recommend if you need waxing services to book with her. I've heard amazing things about Justin Ho, and a few nights ago, he did my hair. I told him that it'd been a few months so I got my last cut, I needed some texturizing, and just some clean up. He listened and he totally delivered. It's clear that he's skilled because he shared with some tips and tricks about managing thick asian hair. He left me withs some super flirty curls, just in time for my dinner plans. I'm excited to see Justin again in about 6-8 weeks. Great little spot & convenient location. I went for my 1st time this past week and got great service. I called in and was able to gel a last minute appointment on a Wednesday afternoon. I had a soft get manicure ($40 plus taxes) and I'm fairly certain this is the best my nails have looked ever! Mila did a great job shaping my nails and applying the gel. I went here to get my nails done before my wedding. The technician told me that no one does French manicures anymore and suggested an ombré instead. I figured, why not? Well, now in sporting nails with nice ombré on some nails and patchy white and pink nail polish on others. I also have random bubbles on a few nails too. From afar they look fine but up close it doesn't look like these were professionally done. I paid 90 bucks for these and I feel like they could've been done better. I won't be coming back. Read Less

I've paid roughly the same price, if not more, for a manicure or pedicure in Burnaby/Vancouver area and nothing compares to the quality, attention to detail, and perfection that this salon does!Not only do they go above and beyond what is expected, the prices are so affordable for a Downtown location! They even offer you refreshments while you wait for your appointment, and are very accommodating and considerate.So far, I've come in for a manicure and a pedicure (shellac) and I'm very happy with the results of both.Will definitely keep coming back! Ladies. I've tried many places in Vancouver and this is the best salon I have found for Nails. The staff is impeccable and the place doesn't smell any toxic nail products. Really can't recommend the salon highly enough. I'm very picky about my nails and find the staff here are so meticulous about making sure everything is perfect! I get biosculpt which lasts me at least 4 weeks with rock hard nails throughout and no chipping or peeling. Sharaf is who I've been with most and she's amazing but I could honestly say that about any of the staff who have done my nails (I've been to about 4 or 5 different staff over the months). I'm a veteran when it comes to nail and lash extensions - So sometimes I can be stickler at how the nail extensions are applied as well as how long they last! I've been coming to the Salon Beauty bar for nails for years and have never been disappointed. I've had Yuri, Lili, Mamiko & Khana and wow these girls know how to make great nails!Lash extensions were introduced not long ago - I used to be a client of Mink Salon - probably the biggest salon in Vancouver. When I tried out TSBB's new lash tech - there was a massive difference!Helen was super educated about lash health as well to combine the look you want and make sure your lashes can actually handle the look. Long story short, Mink was giving me lashes that were the wrong shape - therefore too heavy for my actual lashes and causing them to lose strength and deteriorate over time. With Mink, I had to give myself a 2 month break just to save my tiny hairs from disappearing for good!Helen looked at my lashes and told me that "they were like chopsticks on a toothpick" the lashes were too long, with the wrong curve, and was breaking my lashes from where they attach! After a nice 2 hour session, she educated me on the different types of curls of lashes, as well as how you can achieve the same look you want, but in a smarter application of lashes. I loved the open eye look with a touch of cat eye. At Mink, I had lashes that were size 14 in a "C" curl. Helen applied a very light 3D Russian volume with an "L" curl and I woke up with really light eyelashes, normally, when I wake up at Mink, my eyes would feel really heavy!The results were unbelievable. I've had them for over a week now and they STILL look the same and maintain the look of the eye without any droopiness! Had an amazing nap session while Helen's gentle hands worked their magic on my lashes. I absolutely love my natural and light feeling lash extensions! The room is private with a cozy bed, smells nice, very clean, with soft music and air circulating so it makes the experience so comfortable! Helen was very quick with the application! My go to nail spa for sure! With great prices for downtown and always on time I can count on the salon for every occasion. They also have great hair products, while I've never had my hair done here, they can suggest great products for my hair type. Love this place, and Mamiko is a fantastic manicurist. I tried this salon because it's one of the few in Vancouver that does Bio Sculpture gel nails (it's a brand of product, lasts for ages and doesn't cause damage to your real nail). Right away I became a regular customer because Mamiko is just GREAT - just an hour for a gel fill, yet they last forever! I went on vacation and couldn't be careful with my hands because I was hauling luggage around, yet the gel nails lasted more than 4 weeks without a crack or chip! I work downtown, this is located just around the corner from my office - so it's perfect for an afternoon manicure. I've been twice now and had both Lili & Mamiko do my gel nails + shallac. Hands down the best manicure I've every had. Both are equally as good! They mostly hand file your nails to shape them, trim your cuticles, the attention to detail is on point and the finished result is really great!I paid a fraction more than I usually pay at a "nail shop" however, they treat you like your important here, it's clean and very friendly. I live downtown, and I've tried many of the nail salons, and blow bars that are within walking distance, and I have to say THE Salon is definitely a one stop shop for everything you need. I come here for nails, hair, and to even buy my hair products. The service here is amazing, and the salon is very well kept. They really maintain a high level of consistency & quality. I highly suggest making an appointment for all your needs. Walk in's are welcome, but appointments are definitely the way to go.On my first treatment here, I got the spa pedicure and gel manicure. Upon arrival, I was offered a refreshment. There's not a lot of salons that do that, so I was definitely impressed. They had a vast selection of gel nail polish colors and the coolest nail color display I've seen! (you will know it when you see it). I've had two different nail artists for mani/pedi, and both paid great attention to detail. The polish and shape of my nails always comes out perfect, and lasts a long time. You will NEVER get a bad gel job here.I've also had my hair cut & treated by Gienny. She is totally amazing. She gives a great blow out!  I've had blow outs all over downtown, and I always end up going home and restyling my hair, but with Gienny, I don't have to do that. She uses special washing & brush techniques. She is also very helpful with hair products, and any styling questions you might have. After my hair appointment, I left THE Salon really wishing I had somewhere special to go. Instead I left feeling fabulous just to go run my daily errands. Haha! My hair was also easy to style and looked fabulous weeks on out after my cut.THE Salon only uses high quality products & equipment. That being said, prices for the quality of products and services is totally reasonable for downtown. I've paid for lots of treatments downtown from other salons that are nearly the same price, but not even close to the same quality of service. I love the pampered and polished experience I get when I come to THE Salon.Also, their selection of Kerastase is amazing! Try the Baume from Kerastase for Styling. I can't live without it! Read Less

I've been here before when it was under other management and then just came again recently to get some nail extensions with a minnie mouse design! my nails turned out so cute and also lasted 3 weeks, which is unheard of for me. I went again and this time I have an amazing lavender grey colour on my nails (with the extensions as well). The girl you need to go to is Nicki. I think she needs more clientele that want designs since she really only gets to do the corporate lunch crowds. So glad I found her. Read Less
