I did not have a pleasant experience at this nail salon. I was a first time customer and I went there only for gel nails. The staff suddenly charged 20 minutes of hand massage (at a rate of $1/min) near the end of my manicure without asking/telling me about it. They added this service without my consent. I feel so uncomfortable at ShiNail everytime I go. I see that they pour tea for all their clients but of the 5 times I went, they only served it to me once. Furthermore, This place is insanely expensive, around $120-$300 for the simplest nail art. Nail art materials, such as glitter, costs less than a dollar to buy, meaning they are making a very high profit margin. Their primary customer base are super rich Chinese people so they expect you to tip 10% at least. If you spend $300 on your nails, you will need to at least tip $30... or they will give you a dirty look. Also, it takes them so long to do one session, something as easy as a french nail set will take around 2 hours to complete so it will be “perfect”, but I still see the bubbles and weird shape on the nail. The first time I went there, it was great, they convinced me to buy a $2000 package, which I did. Ever since then, service has just been a disappointment. Ranio had worked on my nails my first time here and what a delight! I am the type to get quite uncomfortable with going to nail salons due to the stigma that lie behind the aestheticians that work (Vietnamese stereotypes). They speak english, mando and canto here. The receptionist is very welcoming and attentive. Complimentary parking in the building parkade out back. They serve you tea or water upon your arrival. You definitely feel like a VIP coming here. Everytime i go somewhere else, I regret it. Their service is unbeatable. I've been able to have a new experience with a different lady doing my nails every time and yet I've received amazing service from them all! Great standards for their customer service. The environment is clean, the music is enjoyable and they have great styles to chose from. If you can request it, they can design it on your nails. I usually pick their monthly special and they have a board to chose a design from. I got a pedicure one time in their giant pods, it was relaxing and comfortable.Read Less

Customer service was fine and the place was clean and pretty but they quoted me the wrong price on the phone and ended up charging me ten dollars extra for my service. I got gel extensions and they told me they use hard gel on the nails but Two nails broke off without warning in a matter of two weeks. When I went to get a refill from another place because shinail informed me that they do not perform gel refill, the new technician filed off the colour to reveal that several more of my nails were near falling off and two more broke off during my new service and I was informed that shinail had used a soft gel on my nails rather than hard gel and that's why they were weaker.
