I have gone here twice. The first time I was late and asked how long the pedicure is. They said 30 mins, so as I was 13 mins late I expected a 17 min pedicure. I received 12. Second time I went I was 5 mins late but asked if I could receive the whole services bc I was her last client.they agreed. Literally 15 mins later she was done with my pedicure. I even asked her to spend more time on the massage. I cancelled my manicure after that bc she did as little as possible. No scrubbing my feet at all and 1 minute of massage. Plus mediocre nail care. My friend opted for both services and they charged her $20 for shellac just on her fingers. They told her $10 when she called. I will not be back. Worst mani pedi experience ever. Cut cuticles. Smudge gel that lasted less than a weekend, and Don’t be fooled by the hygiene in here either, the little packs they open .. they make them up themselves. Have only been here twice and in both instances the technician was rough with cuticle treatment and removal, bearing down into the nail bed with the metal cuticle remover. This last visit resulted resulted in my requesting she proceed with less pressure which had to be requested 3x during the treatment. After leaving the treatment, with pain in the affected nail (and, as a result of the Shellac polish lasting only 3 days) damage was evident (deep troughs where she had applied the pressure and bruising) on the affected nail bed. 3 visits and two of them a disaster.. never again. 1st disaster was after gel nails .. they had bubbles in them and ended up flaking off after a day. I should have cut my losers then but a few months later I tried again...The second disaster they cut my cuticle so bad it wouldn't stop bleeding. They tried to just gloss over the fact there was blood everywhere and proceeded to try rubbing moisturizers in!! I left with a nine finger manicure.. but the worst of it was seeing them rinse their tools under a tap and pop them into small plastic bags and seal them. No disinfectant nothing. I was actually under the impression those little sealed bags were outsourced and came from some nail hygiene cleaning service or something. Never again. Read Less

I live a four minute walk from this salon and really wanted to like it. I booked my first service about a month ago and was pretty indifferent about the experience. My pedicurist was pleasant, not a big talker, although I was there with a girlfriend so that could have played a factor as we were chatting a bit. The job itself was good. They use regular couches rather than massage chairs and they play rom coms on loop which I personally don't think contributes to a tranquil environment (my preference). Nonetheless, I would return. And I did. Today I booked myself in for a shellac mani/pedi, with paraffin wax treatment and added some nail art. I was pretty happy they could fit me in on such short notice. I came in for my appointment 15 mins early, they already had my station set up so I was able to sit down right away and start choosing colours. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do in terms of nail art so I had asked the girl who was seating me what they typically do. She said flowers (not my preference) so I chose to work with some of the jewels they had on hand. I thought I would get each service consecutively but it turns out they do them simultaneously. I was looking to kick back and relax but found it hard being that I was pulled every which way. Once we had started, I asked my manicurist what she thought would look nice for jewel placement and she did not understand me. She brought the girl who had seated me over to translate. I was told that I should have brought reference pictures and was not recommended anything. I thought this was quite rude so I said it was fine to not go ahead with the nail art. The poor manicurist took her phone out and we figured it out together. I wasn't too impressed with her translator though. She just seemed lazy and not interested. The total came to $105 after tax, before tip. I paid and left. Shortly after I had realized my rewards card did not get stamped. I came back and spoke to who I believe was the a manager (potentially owner?). I explained I had been in for a mani/pedi today and did not receive my stamps. According to their policy, if you get a "combo" it cancels out the stamps because you save $10. Very well, I asked that rather than getting two stamps, if I could claim one seeing that I still spent more money than I would have if I only booked in for one service. I was told no. I didn't just get a combo, I also purchased add-ons to my services and paid double the price of a full price manicure or pedicure. It makes absolutely no sense to not receive a stamp for this reason and is just bad business practice. Although the girls completing my service were nice enough, the front desk girl was inflexible and rude and the rewards program is a joke. I will not be returning. Read Less

Worst. Manicure. EVER. My nails look like I did them myself. Completely unprofessional. She also didnt smooth my nail tips at all so my shellac is jagged. To make matters worse, she completely ruined my shirt! I told the girl to not worry about moving up my sleeve for the lotion, she did anyway and got shellac on my Aritzia shirt. No offer to compensate me. They even tried to make me pay full price! I insisted I am not paying for a poor job and a ruined shirt. They tried to give me a free polish change only... Ridiculous! Very clean and great atmosphere compared to other nail salons. Smells amazing in there. They open the instruments in front of you. They don't use those swirl pool basins that are known to carry germs. They use a simple bowl instead that can be cleaned out. No massage chairs, nice couches and chairs instead. I always thought the massage chairs never made any sense at a nail place anyhow because you can't be moving around while they are doing your nails. I got a gel polish mani/pedi. They didn't use the drill so bonus points for that. They were very gentle and it looked great in the end. It would have been nice if it went a bit faster- it took over 2 hours. A lot of other places will have someone working feet and hands at the same time to speed things up but this place didn't have an abundance of help to provide that sort of service. Went in for a simple shellac polish change. Had been growing my nails for 2 months for a special event. She asked me if I wanted to keep the length and I said YES, please just file them square. Well, I guess that wasn't clear because instead what she did was cut all my nails off right down to the skin. They actually hurt they were cut so short. Then asked me what I thought. I was horrified. The nails look AWFUL and I told her. She didn't care. When I went to the front to pay, the lady at the front (owner I imagine) asked me how it went I again told them it was awful. She just shrugged and said $26 please!My advice is unless you want your nails to hurt and look ridiculous, you should go somewhere else. Read Less

I've tried to give this place another chance but still unhappy. They are rude and Unaccommodating. Every interaction I've had with the staff has been negative. They should change their hours to 6pm on Saturdays instead of the advertised 7pm if they don't plan on offering service after 6pm. It's too bad because the place is clean and bright. Went to Citrus today to get my digits painted. It was the first time out of the house since dental surgery and I was feeling a bit fragile- they were great. I chose a shellac colour by accident, they helped me find a regular polish that matched. I had a book-on-tape going, so they gave me directions (foot up, foot down) without making me take my headphones. Some little girls came in with their moms, the Citrus staff put Frozen on at the bar to keep them happy.Everything was spotless, every station was cleaned immediately after it was vacated. The ladies were nice- sure, they were quiet, but that does not mean bad customer service. They were focused on their clients! And when they weren't, they helped each other tidy up.I would definitely go there over the Pure that is close by. Thank you Citrus! Read Less

The nail bar itself is pretty cool. Prepare yourself to be engulfed with a pleasant citrus scent as soon as you enter. It may be overwhelming at first, but I enjoyed it. I got a shellac mani and pedi done here. I am not satisfied with either. The shell ace mani lasted me about 5 days before it started to crack. I did go back, but they only fixed the ones that were visibly cracked/or breaking. The pedicure itself was alright. Lasted quite a while however, they got stained super easily from my flats. I've never had that happen before. Very unfortunate because I really wanted to like this place. I would only go back for a shellac pedi. PROS:  I really liked the ambience at this nail salon...the decor is lovely and the seating on couches is very casual and comfortable.  I went with a girlfriend and it felt very natural sitting on the couch, chatting side by side.  My nail artist did a fabulous job on my polish and was very gracious when I requested a different polish colour after she'd already begun to paint my nails.  Also, I was given plenty of time to sit on the couch and allow my toenails to dry, and they gave me disposable flip-flops to wear leaving the salon because I'd worn running shoes.CONS:  My girlfriend showed up eight minutes late for her appointment and, even though the pedicures were scheduled together, they asked if they could start my pedicure ahead of hers.  I consented but was left wondering what the point of scheduling the appointment together was.  Also, the callous removal definitely leaves something to be desired.  My feet were just as calloused leaving the salon as they were going in...it would have been nice if they'd been a bit more thorough there. I so badly wanted to love this place. It's cute, clean, and they are very sterile and well sanitized with all of their tools. The girl that did my both of my shellacs(2nd was just a shellac change) just didn't do a good job. The polish was way too far out to the sides, and when I asked if I could have some nail art(nothing crazy) on 2 nails they made a huge deal about it because I didn't book for it so I finally just said forget it because they made me feel bad. She was nice but didn't talk much. Actually, no one in there talked much. I saw other reviews complaining about the customer service. I totally agree! It is a very expensive spot with indifferent people who do not need your business much.They do not care about customers.They have a big TV and always show the same movie...every single day, many times a day...I had bad experience and my toes and fingers hurt for two days after visiting this place.Will not return and will not recommend! I wish it was a full serviced spa with the massage chair and the whirlpool water for foot soak---but it's not. I made an appointment for a mani/pedi and eyebrow wax. They did a great job. My eyebrows haven't looked this great, my nails (I got the French nail shellac) looks very tidy. Not like the other places I have been to where the polish is over my nail bed. I love this place! I usually just get a polish change (shellac) and the cost for removal and the new colour is $20! I don't do nail art or anything fancy, so I don't have any experience with that at Citrus. I've paid more than double that (for the EXACT same service) at other salons in the area! I'm happy to have Citrus a 4 min walk away from my house :) It's bright and pretty inside, usually playing a rom-com on the large television. I've had a gel manicure done there as well as waxing services and was pleased with both. The waxing was well done and a bit cheaper than other places. You can often get an appointment last-minute here, though not always: it probably depends on what service you're booking. I've sometimes had a bit of a language barrier with the staff but they're always very nice and we get things figured out. I'm going with my bridal party for mani/pedis, should be fun! Read Less

I do like this place but I'll explain my 2 star rating.  Been to Citrus a few times since it opened last year.  Clean, very nice decor and most of all because I can walk 2 minutes there from my apartment.  The only thing I ever found so-so was the  language barrier with the staff.   But really, that's life here in metro Vancouver so who cares.  If you're driving here, there's no problems with crappy parking as there's plenty out front, unlike Pure Nail in Suter Brook.Took my mother in law here to get a pedicure tonight.  Pedicure was great, though I had to wait about 20 minutes before my pedicure started after my mother in law's even though I had an appointment for both of us.   I'm just guessing, but they may have had a walk in before me and being understaffed on a slow Saturday evening weren't prepared, and didn't turn the walk-in away?  They gladly accept walk-ins, according to their signage.  I dont remember having this issue with my other appointments there.  The wait itself wasn't bad as the girl doing my M-I-L's pedicure did at least get my foot bath ready and me and my M-I-L just chatted in the meantime.  But what was weird was the manager stood watching the Sex and the City movie on the television while the staff worked, and I waited...if you're customers are waiting don't you jump in for a bit to help?  Or offer tea/water at least and apologize for the wait?  So what was her job exactly?Like the last reviewer (Jessica C) I am a fan of customer loyalty programs.  I brought my stamp card with me tonight (pay for 7, get 8th free).   However, when paying the manager wouldn't stamp my card.  Why?  Because they are having a "special" on their pedicures.  Special price: $29.  Regular price: $34.  I was paying for both pedicures and I said OK well how about one stamp then for the 2 pedicures.  She still said no.  I paid for a friends pedicure before and got a 2nd stamp so that's why I asked.  I agree that 7 full-price manicures & getting the 8th free is the same as what you'd save over the course of 7 "special price" manicures so it really doesn't make sense to do a 1 for 1 stamp.   But if you consider that for one stamp I would have paid $60 and she still wasn't willing to do it...well that's not the greatest management policy or loyalty offering.   Or if they've scrapped the stamp card all together maybe the language barrier got in the way of communicating it.   It bugged me enough that I won't go back, unless Im desperate.  And in that case I'll probably just slap a new coat of paint on my tootsies at home.So much for loyalty programs. I started going to Citrus Nail Lounge, despite living downtown Vancouver, when my mum started raving about it.My mum use to go to Pure Nail Bar in Suter Brook purely out of convenience (because honestly that place has horrible service) and I use to go to a place out in Vancouver.  We LOVE Citrus and I know my mum is especially happy that there's a place close to her house that she can always go to. The two of us always start off our mother/daughter dates here. The interior is clean, bright and fresh. Comfy couches, a good selection of magazines to choose from and always something fun to watch on their tv. We always go for a mani-pedi combo, and get gel polish manis. The girls that work here are great. Super nice and they do a great job. I once chipped one of my nails a few days after getting a gel polish mani, and they were happy to have me come in so they could fix it for me. Price wise, Citrus is reasonable, especially when you compare them to places downtown and even in the area. They also have a punch-card which I love! Super clean and friendly staffs with comfy spa chairs for mani and pedis...My friend and I paid for having wonderful service and inviting atmosphere was very pleased actually it was my very first visit to do main and pedi. After a long week at work, there is nothing better than relaxing late Friday afternoon with a nice foot (sc)rub. Located in New Port Village, this place is nice! They have comfy couches and the lighting is spectacular to look at!  It almost feels like you are at a downtown spa with the decor.As a self proclaimed pedicure connoisseur, I have to say that I was not impressed with the service at Citrus.  I really felt like the lady doing my toes was rushing through it because it seemed like they wanted to close up shop (even though I had an appointment).  As a runner, my feet tend to get quite rough on the bottom and none of this was removed and I barely received any massage!Despite receiving many compliments on the nail art that I had them do, I have to admit that the process was painfully slow (AND NOT CHEAP!).  I had my toes painted and wanted some white polka dots on top of the big toe.  First off, the girl who was doing my toes had no idea how to use the dotting tool, and when she was shown, she had so many problems that she had to take off all of my polish twice before it looked decent.  The polish part of the pedicure (say that 3 times fast HA) took almost 30 minutes.  Not to mention that the 4 polka dots that I finally did have done, cost me $5 PER TOE! Yesterday was my first visit to Citrus Nail Lounge. This place seemed brand new, because I haven't seen any nail shop in New Port before. The first impression of this place was very elegant, clean, and bright. The interior was very beautiful and I really it. When I walked into the place, every single girl were greeting and welcoming me. I got both color gel manicure and regular pedicure done at this place. There were a lot of color choices almost 300? 400? and there were color palettes made with nail tips which made me easier to imagine the color on my hands. I was very happy with the color I chose, it looked really good on me. Also I was very satisfied with the cuticle care, my hands and feet are very clean right now. I used to go another nail shop, but I'm sure that Citrus nail is way better than another one. The service is great and kind, they have expert technicians and the place is very clean. I'm definitely going back to Citrus Nail and this is the best nail shop ever! Read Less
