Horrible would never recommend for anyone. If possible I wouldn't even give them one star. The staff were extremely rude and unprofessional. I asked them if they could do marble design on 2 of my fingers and I showed a picture. They said yes, so I assumed they were able to do it. But it took just under an hour for them to attempt the design but never succeeded when I told them it was okay I'll go without it they simply painted over they're several attempts leaving it messy and fat. I ask for them to redo it and what I recieved was several eye rolls. I like this place. I went in for a nail fill and decided last minute to get shellac. The lady who did my nails was very gentle in cleaning my old gel nails. The shellac job was really well done and the color came out beautiful. I would really recommend this place, especially when they're not so busy. Going in the morning or early afternoon is a pretty good time and there's a nice waves coffee shop near by to pick up a coffee before or after hand. The parking situation is pretty great too, so you don't have to worry about that. Its never really all that busy. Read Less

Came in with my sister for a regular pedi. I didn't realize how big it is inside. I believe there are 12 chairs. The experience overall felt a little rushed but compared to other places I've received pedis I feel she took a little extra care to make sure the bottoms of my feet were soft. I really love this place. Have been going here since I was 16 and love that they always give me and my mom great service and are always so nice. Sometimes yes, if they're swamped, they rush but they still leave my toes and fingers beautiful. And anyone complaininh about how they speak in their language all the time and that they answer their phones while on the job, just be quiet. They have to deal with nasty feet and hands, waxing private parts and etc so they should be able to do what they want. Prices do vary, which is why you should double, triple and quadruple ask just how much it would be for what you are getting. They are amazing ladies. And do a great job. Read Less

Have been going there for years. Sent my daughter in to get her nails done. Quoted her and I a price, I gave her the money and I left and got a call from my daughter telling me they were charging her $20 more and wouldn't let her leave until she paid. She had no extras, no nothing, just a regular full. I had to go back to the store where they proceeded to argue with me. The price at this place changes too often and different price for differ customer. Extremely unprofessional. The girl was very rough with my daughter to boot and when my daughter said she was hurting her, she laughed! Not impressed that they would try and take advantage of a young person. I was a regular customer at Solar Nail and been going there for 5 years. I love the job and most of the time left satified. I wish I can say that now. Since Ling left, the service I recieve is awful. I went in there 3 weeks ago to see Selena and I had 2 nails gone and wanted a fill with Solar Gel.Then she decides to take off 2 more without telling me because Tony the owner had put them on incorrectly. The acrylic nails he put on me were placed back to far and not at the tip of my nail so it was lifting. Once I was finished they charged me $70.00. For what? A fill a 2 broken nails with Gel? Unacceptable and Im getting annoyed that every time I go in here its a different price. Also, when I call to make an appointment with Linda (bcuz I'm picky) they put me with Tony. It's happened twice now. I was pissed and told Kelly. She just brushed me off like she didn't even care. I felt like such a burden. Seriously, how rude! And for god sakes Solar Nail, when you have customers that don't speck your language at least be respectful enough to speck english.When you guys talk to each other, joke around and laugh its makes us feel your talking about us. Solar Nails is highly professional and family-run, with utmost attention to detail. They always go the extra mile -- whether it's making you a cup of tea or giving you slippers if you accidentally wore socks on pedicure day. I find many of the poor reviews on this page very unfair (and perhaps rigged). This place is a gem in Coquitlam and they've been nothing but fair, high-quality and professional. Read Less

I had a very unpleasant appointment at this nail salon today. I have been here a few times and have walked away unhappy for the most part due to to poor customer service, I will not be going back. The staff are fairly rude and rush you in and out as fast as possible, they try to work so quickly I have been cut a couple times. They don't listen to what you ask for, when you try to explain what you want they give you attitude. I went in today to get just a simple shellac colour change (no manicure) it took an hour when normally it takes 30 minutes. 35 minutes of that was me sitting there with a job half done waiting for the technician to come back and finish. When she did finally come back she argued with me about what I wanted done and then tried to make me feel bad for not getting a full manicure. She was so aggressive with my hands she kept flipping them over back and forth roughly and pushing them away rudely when she was done.  Really upsetting experience. Read Less

Almost every time I have come here I have always gotten a really good and thorough pedicure. I am super picky with pedicures but this place out beats many of the places I have been to and I have been to everywhere from high end hotel pedicures to nail bars. I only docked one star because SOMETIMES the aestheticians aren't always consistent. I have gotten (for the most part) amazing technicians who do a thorough and amazing job but there's the odd time I've had a sub par experience. Maybe the aesthetician was having an off day! But overall this place is amazing! Each pedi station has a massage chair to enjoy while you're receiving your service and the chairs are all side by side which is perfect to host anything from a double date to bigger gatherings. They also have the other side separated by glass dedicated to their foot massage services and they do some great foot massages there too! At $35 for a classic pedicure, you just can't go wrong! It's the best pedi and especially for the value  compared to anywhere else I have been. I would recommend though to call ahead before popping in because they are now very popular and sometimes during busier hours they can't accommodate you right away. Read Less

Unfortunately every time I've gone here I've left with tiny cuts all over my fingers around my nails. I gave it a 3rd try today thinking maybe I was getting the wrong girl. But yeah they all work so fast that I feel less care is taken. I asked the girl not to use the motorized sander to take my shellac off and she still did, disagreeing that it's not what is making my nails thin and uneven. I also asked for a shellac change only, no manicure since I'd had one two weeks ago and they still charged me for a full service and she barely put lotion on my hands, no cuticle oil or anything. I hate having too write this but I must warn the public about this place. I am 9 months pregnant and went to this place before Christmas to treat myself with a pedicure and nails, the nails turned out fine but I got a terrible staph infection from the pedicure. I have been on powerful antibiotics and now have to go to a podiatrist to get the ingrown toe nails out that the technician gave me. I don't know if it was the basin or dirty tools but it's definitely not something I wanted to deal with at the tail end of a long pregnancy. While I was in the basin the drain cover fell off and it looked very dirty. The tech was digging around in my nail beds so much that I was bleeding, it was honestly the most painful pedicure I have ever received. I went back the next day with my toes all full with puss and the tech said that she didn't touch that toe. They did give me some of my money back but not all. I'm in the beauty industry myself and absolutely hate leaving this but I just can't get over the fact that I have had to deal with foot soaks penicillin and polysporin for the last month and if I can save the next lady this misery I will. I used to love this place, they are quick, give a decent pedicure, had some very good nail artists, and it was reasonably cheap. In my most recent visit, I was absolutely disgusted when the woman who was doing my toes went into her pocket to get change for another woman and handled a copious amount of loose change, and bills before returning to my feet... without changing her gloves or washing her hands.
