The salon is spacious and Nicely decorated, they use covers in the basins of the pedicure baths which is more hygienic. I called and they got me in right away.  When I walked in I was acknowledged by the owner and seated right away.  The color selection is good and they used OPI avojuice lotion which smelled great and is a great product. All and all I would say this place is above average. Beautiful decor that is comfortable and inviting. Very eye pleasing and modern. The pedicure chairs are awesome and you can tell that they are very serious about keeping everything clean and sanitary. As they were doing my services I saw them opening all the tools from sealed sanitary packages which I loved. I had a mani and pedi done at the same time which again I loved it made it so I didn't have to spend hours there. No complaints about the service what so ever. The only thing O will say is the prices are a little higher than average. They charge $15 extra for gel polish which seems a bit steep. Most places I have been to (even Absolute Spa) charge no more than $10 extra. Great services and super clean. Read Less

I got a gel mani pedi here. I am forever in search of the perfect nail salon to go to. This place was very easy to get an appointment at, not very busy. They were very gentle except I was not happy that they use a drill to try and get the old polish off. You are supposed to just soak and scrape to avoid damaging the nail bed. It was very clean, they opened the instruments up in front of you. Not a bad atmosphere overall. I had to switch spots to finish off the manicure which I always prefer not to but oh well. They had your basic massage chair type set up. They did have two people working on me at one point to make it go faster which is always appreciated. Not bad overall. I have been to this place three times and this post reflects the third and probably final time.The first two times were great and I had the same girl do my pedicure and manicure.  The job was well done and was done in a professional and timely manner.The third time I went I wanted to book the same girl but she no longer worked there which was disappointing (it had only been a couple weeks later) and the owner assured me the new ones were great.  I booked one gel manicure for myself and one for my sister.  My nail clean up was done by a new girl and she did an okay job.  The girl that actually painted my nails fixed some of the things the first girl missed and did a good job painting my nails (I had seen her there before).  The girl painting my sister's nails was also new and finished a little faster than typical but the job looked good so overall I was happy. My real issue came a couple days later when my sister's gel manicure was chipped on multiple nails and one actually broke.  For those that have never gotten a gel manicure, the reason I have issue with this is that you literally need to soak your nails in acetone for half and hour or file the polish off to actually remove it.  The fact that multiple nails were chipped after a day make me question the quality of the new hires and the integrity of the salon. I was really happy because I thought I found a regular nail place but now I guess I'm on the search again.  For those that still do go there, I would recommend booking your treatment to be done with ONLY the owner as he is really good, but definitely don't risk with one of the other technicians as the quality really varies. I made appointments for myself, my mother, my cousin, and my grandmother as a belated mothers day outing. Initially, the appointment was for 4 manicures, but right before the appointment, my mother and cousin decided they wanted pedicures instead. Not only were the staff at Sugar Nail Bar very accommodating, they were quick with their work, professional, and courteous. My mother, cousin, and grandmother all got regular polish on their nails, but I opted to go for french tips (not gel). Not only was my nail tech able to do it, she did it FREE HAND! NO STENCILS! I was BEYOND impressed. They had individually sealed packages of tools that were either discarded after use, or then sterilized and repackaged in clean packaging. I don't know how long my family's polishes lasted, but mine lasted 5 days before it started to chip (and would have lasted longer if I hadn't picked at it). Went for my daughters bday, mani pedi. They put us both in chairs and she sat for half hour before i asked if someone was coming for her, one girl had started on my feet first with no one else around. Finally the guy, he came and took on her pedi. They traded her to a woman who was rough with her hands. Very disappointing took hours instead of being on time. We had prebooked they knew it was two and for her bday.I gave another chance, wanted a set of nails for myself another time. The guy Tommy was difficult to work with, nice until I corrected what I had asked for and discussed. Poor quality work, not evenly done or well groomed, left unhappy.I am a nurse, all my coworkers have asked about that place and I am honest how poor the service and high the prices are. Not good value. Go see anyone at BeautiNail in guildford they are fantastic and worth every cent. Take notes Sugar, word of mouth is key. Read Less

I came here cuz the other nail salon was busy. Luckily I got a spot as a walk in. I was a bit in a rush but I confirmed with the lady that she would get my manicure done in time. She said she had plenty of time so I wouldn't be late for my next appointment. At the end, she had to rush my nails and I was still late for the next appointment. For the nails, the colors are not even and the edges are not smooth. The gel is sliding to one side on my left hand. She kept trying to fix it while polishing it but still made a mess. I will not come here again and I will not recommend this nail salon to my girl friends. Read Less

Was offered the new Gel polish. It cost more, but what the heck- you only live once. They didn't tell me that you have to go back in to have it removed - it's about a half an hour process that costs $20. Not exactly the way I like to become a repeat customer. Read Less

They do the most amazing nails. I was recommended this place by a friend of mine who always gets her nails done. They did the most amazing Seattle Seahawks nail art, all done by hand, no templates that took 3 hours of work to do. Very hygienic. They give you a new nail file each time and you can see them take it out of the pack. You get to keep the nail file which is a nice little take home thing. Very friendly mom and pop shop. So happy to have found this place! Tom always takes care of my gel fills in a timely, professional manner. The Salon makes every effort to use sanitized products and never reuses files or buffs. I usually bring a picture in of a nail design I like and Tom is always able to duplicate the design but I can also count on him to help me come up with something original. Sugar Nail Bar is the newest place to get pampered at New West. As soon as you walk in you are warmly welcomed by Tom or Julie. The salon is very clean, bright, modern/elegant and inviting.
