This salon is within the walking distance of my home, and I have been there almost 5 times in the past five years for meni-pedi, facials, and waxing. I think the quality of service is not THAT bad as most people say but it depends on who you are going to. I got my facial done two weeks ago with Jasmine and I was really satisfied with the service. The pressure was good, the products smelled nice, and my skin looked really clean and dewy for a week. The only MAJOR issue with this place is their customer service which I would agree is HORRENDOUS. The staff is incredibly loud and unprofessional and fail to maintain a peaceful "salon-like" atmosphere in the main area. They are talking to each other in very loud voices in their native languages when they have a customer sitting in front of them getting a pedicure done. I am not sure if they read their reviews online, but someone needs to train them on their quality of service or else they are doomed. The price they offer is good and the services are fine as well, but they could do way better under the guidance of a better manager who speaks English and understands the importance of customer service which means making sure that their customers are happy and satisfied. If I can give them 0 star, or even negative, I would. This place is the worse I have ever been to. My shellac came off after 2 days. Quality of work is of the lowest level and lacks customer service to boot. I think the only reason why they still have customer is because there is no other option in Queensborough when Alpha Nails on Ewen is packed! Will never EVER be back here! Waste of time and money! Went too this salon on friday January 19. The visit was nice and the people looked like there happy. But  the job they did on my nails is awful. Asked for acrylic nails with white tips. Ended up leaving with uneven and crooked nails that broke or chipped off with in 2 days. I well not be coming  back to this salon and I highly recommend not going to this place.  Save your money and your time. And go somewhere better. Read Less

I am enraged with the service and the quality that they produce, for someone who is suppose to be professional is a complete chop shop they don't care about the service of quality it's all about getting the next customer in! I went in today to get a pedicure. As soon as I walked in, it was busy, but I was showed to a pedicure chair right away. The technician began right away. I chose my nail color and decided on the $40 pedicure (which I think is the deluxe or herbal) sorry I can't remember! But I was amazing!! Fixed my broken acrylic thumb nail last minute. I have acrylic ombre French nails and although I was a bit behind getting them filled, the bottom half of my right thumb nail broke off turning off my wireless Bluetooth speaker at 6:30pm on Thursday! Obviously every nail salon in New Westminster was closing right away and I had to be at work at 7am the next day so I needed it fixed ASAP. Although their rating wasn't that great but better than anything else that would be open long enough to take me and the reviews were back and forth. They took me right away, the girls were nice and the lady that did my nails was quick, gentle and let my boyfriend sit in the empty chair next to me since he didn't believe me when I said they use tiny power tools on my nails lol. In less than 30 min she had fixed my thumb and did a fill on the rest and it looked well done, just a little rough on 1 or 2 spots which I was able to fix with a nail file in 2 seconds. It's okay. I think they could go a little farther with customer service but then again, it is a regular, traditional nail bar. There is still the feeling of being just another number and I really dislike the way the Viet nail techs chatter in whole Viet conversations to each other and ignore the customer. If you're getting fake nails the process is closer to one hour or even more probably for some elaborate designs. There's free wi-fi available. I felt some reluctance from the staff here to do pointed nails for some reason, maybe because they didn't have the time allotted for me to file them down as it does take a lot of filing to get them in the more rounded/pointy shape as opposed to square nails. Walk-ins are not okay. Unless it's a totally dead Sat or Sun on a long weekend where everyone is away, don't do it. It's also out of respect. All in all not terribly bad. But the nail work itself doesn't really make me want to go back....didn't sense much enthusiasm from the techs and I couldn't get the pointy/rounded tips I was looking for without a fuss. Hard to explain - I just didn't feel inspired here and it was more of a chore. It's also fairly standard which is pretty expensive for fake nails. I remember getting a small gem/white diamond looking thing on 2 nails for accents and it was french gel. It came up to about $80+ after tax. Read Less

This is the worst place to get your nails done! The polish choices are limited and most are dried up. The service is sub par and the quality of the application is extremely poor. It was as if they were practicing on me. When I was done, my nails were uneven and goopy. No one seemed concerned even when I mentioned it to the girl in charge. I would never come back here. After wasting a good hour and a half, I now need to go somewhere to have it all redone. Read Less

This place is awful. Went here on Friday November 18th for a new set of acrylic nails which according to the pricing is $35. I ended up leaving with crooked nails and it cost me $60. No explanation as to why just that's what the cost is. Besides my nails being crooked, the nail technician left dried acrylic bubbles underneath the nails, and on top of my cuticles. Instead of the acrylic being thin it is so thick that it's bubbled and chipped on my cuticles. This place is way to expensive for doing such a terrible job. I will never ever return here. I've had amazing service at this salon!!! Jasmine does the best French acrylic and gels... They are very natural looking and not thick.  Kim does an amazing pedicure. The last time I had a pedicure ( regular polish) it lasted almost 2 months.... And didn't even chip!! I've been to quite a few different salons.... And this one is a best I have found! Read Less

I've been coming here for about 4 years now and within a handful of visits, Mr. Lee recognized me and remembered how I like my nails done. He is very prompt in greeting customers as soon as they walk in. The best is I hardly ever have a wait time. Everyone's very nice, they do a great job and the atmosphere is cool as well. Went here to have my acrylic nails removed and it was the worst experience ever. I was in so much pain. Halfway through I asked if she could soak them first and she said that's worse. I've had acrylic nails for 17 yrs and this was by far the worst "nail takeoff" treatment ever. Now my nails are peeling, cracking and so damaged. She used another acrylic nail to rip off my nails!!! My friend and I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance to get our acrylic nails filled. We arrived on time and they had us wait for 5 or 10 minutes before starting. Once we did get seated, it took 2 HOURS to get our fills done because they kept taking clients and were completely overloaded. To top it off, two employees started having what was clearly a heated argument in the full salon and made several customers uncomfortable. We won't be back. Read Less

I have been seeing Deena at this salon for over a year now for my monthly pedicures. She always takes extra time massaging my feet and finishes with hot stones. There have been many times when I've accidentally smudged the polish while drying. Deena is quick to act and will redo any nails always with a smile. Colour choices can be limited. I'd recommend bringing your own polish just in case you don't find one you like from their selection. Read Less
