Out of everywhere I've got my nails done, this was the worst! Horrible horrible horrible place I do not recommend. Yeah the location is nice and clean but the technicians don't know what they are doing. My nail polish started bubbling and peeling and one nail broke all after 5 days of having them done. And I am a student all I do is take noes all day so I'm not hard on my nails. And all the nails were crooked and uneven. Such a bad experience. I usually don’t argue and I definitely didn’t want to but doesn’t mean the techician should take advantage of that. I got a matte fill. When getting this done, the lady with the short blue hair suggested I get a full set next time. Within a week my set started chipping on the ends. I thought I would leave it until it started chipping more and bothering me and if I’ve paid $50 for a fill I expect it to last. I tried calling but the call never goes through. I emailed and the lady, I believe the boss was kind enough to respond and let me know I can go back to have it fixed. I went and I had to schedule an appointment because I did not want to wait. So I went and the technician who had done them and had to fix them had so much attitude. She kept checking her calendar for exact date of when I came in, which is okay. Then she said I should’ve come in earlier which is hard when I have a job and school and had emailed and came in prior to this appointment. She was eating away her Burger King on the same station she was doing my nails- I also noticed this the first time I came in. She had her whatsapp chat open while doing my nails and seemed careless. After my initial appointment I didn’t care to write a bad review. However; after my nails chipping and her basically placing blame on me for it, being careless both times- I’m not sure why this is allowed. All it took was to pay attention and be polite about it and I would’ve been okay, but she let me leave with such a sour taste about the salon. She is the reason I will probably not go back. Got in to get my nails done today and this was my first time to this shop as I don't live in BC but I was super impressed. Ashley did my nails and I've had them done many times over the years but I love my nails I got today better then any set I've ever had. I got the solar and then I got a French manicure with orange and a beautiful flower on each ring finger. Now when I get flowers done there usually drawn on with nail polish but what Ashley did was amazing. I went to get a fill and color change after getting them done at SLS Salon on Robson 2 weeks ago - who did a terrible job btw, they were so thick and chunky, misshapen and uneven, and absolutely the wrong shape. I made an appointment with Katina, and it was like night and day when I walked out. They actually look like my natural nails, and follow the shape of my nail bed perfectly. She managed to get the exact shape I wanted, even though I limited her by wanting them somewhat... short (I use my hands a lot and cant do the long claws). She was so friendly to chat with, and very obviously technically skilled and experienced, especially compared to the 2 hour nightmare I had previously experienced. I got my nails done black, and when I left they looked very navy blue to me in the light. I came back the next day to ask about it and see what happened, if there was maybe a mistake with the color, etc, and if they could do anything to make them blacker. I'm always nervous doing something like this as I generally make sure to avoid confrontation, but Katina was super understanding and patient, she troubleshooted the potential issue, tried 2 different top coats so I could compare and choose which one I was happier with. When we found out which top coat made them less blue, she redid the topcoat on the rest of them for me without charging me, and made sure I was happy before I left. On top of this awesome customer service experience, which could have gone so many other ways, during the initial appointment she was super clear on making sure I knew the prices of what I was getting, that I was getting exactly what I wanted, that it was possible before she agreed on it and got started. I was going to get matte black designs on the glossy black, and she made sure to double check with me that I knew it may not really be seen so may not be worth the extra cost. Went in on a weekday without checking reviews online, without any appointments. I wanted shellac mani and some waxing done. Anna suggested to get threading done instead. I was so scared cause I had really bad experience with threading but she did it so well, there was barely any pain there. The shellac lasted longer than when I get it done at other place! Used to come here until I had a bad experience, then tried a few different places. Today I was already at Metrotown and needed to remove my artificial nails and decided to try the Metrotown location because of convenience. The young lady that did my removal seemed as if she was rushing to finish and was SO ROUGH with the removal - she had jammed the metal pincher under my nails so hard that she cut my real nail making it lift and bleed. (I posted a photo for reference.) Right away I told her "that really hurt" and showed her what had happened and her response to me was "well that happened because your natural nails are really weak. You should keep getting fills instead of removals so that that doesn't happen" putting the blame on me as well as trying to sell me a service! ... I've been getting gel nails as well as removals for YEARS and my natural nails are quite strong and that never happens whenever I do removals.. it happened because of how careless she was while removing them. I don't think I'll be coming back as I have given them a few chances to redeem themselves and every time I go, I have a bad experience. If you have the chance, check out their new Highgate location. Worst customer service ever. I booked my appointment far in advance because I know they are always busy. When I got there 10 mins prior to my appointment, I let them know I booked myself for 5:30 pm. The owner Stanley let the staff know, so I didn't mind waiting extra 10-15 min since it was busy. I was so impressed with the service and quality of this place. I've been on a hunt to find a nail salon to go to for regular fills and I think I just found it. Tracy was the lovely esthetician that did my nails today. I was shocked that she actually took the time and effort to make sure that my nails were perfect as opposed to just rushing to finish them. Considering the fact that it was quite busy during my appointment, I appreciate her efforts into making sure my nails were up to my standards. Made an appointment for me and my friend which started 15 minutes after the scheduled time. We had one young person assigned to both of us while other people who walked in got served instead of attending to my friend while doing mines. The person picked the wrong colour and didn't say a single word to me so I didn't exactly know what she wanted me to do with my hands. She did however just sign and mumble and yell out in another language to her fellow coworkers. This place is fairly rude and is not sanitary. It is however cheap and my nails did turn out okay. A few chips that she didn't buffer cause she was inexperience and did not care. The lady I had was very young and came in late for her shift. I definitely will not come back here. Rude employees and horrible quality. The lady doing my nails was talking to another employee in Vietnamese for a few minutes, seemingly to be talking about me. Then one of them looked at me, asked if I was Vietnamese and when I said no, they continued talking in Vietnamese. Then I was told my nails would cost $40 instead of $29 because they were fixing one nail (applying the powder coat on top to strengthen it) and also to "file" my nails. This is the first time I've ever been charged to get my nails filed and shaped. This would all have been fine if the quality was good but the shape was horribly done and so was the polish. The shape was very uneven and the polish was sloppy (thick in some areas and not painted close to the cuticle even though I asked her to go closer to the cuticle).I only tried this place out as it's close to home and my regular nail tech from Welcome Nails in Vancouver is on maternity leave. Very friendly and helpful! My friend and I went to get our nails for the first time and they gave us many options! I showed a picture to the lady helping me, and she did it exactly how I wanted it. She was also very thoughtful as she asked me if I was feeling okay and asked if my nails were the right length or not! I have been to Stanley nails many times but this time has got to be the worst. My friend and I came in to get pedicures and a acrylic fill. The acrylic fill was done well. But the tech was super pushy on what kind of fill I should get done. But when I got to the pedicure chair. I sat there for atleast 25mins. No one came to ask me if I was ok or turned on the water for me to soak my feet. Both of our pedicures lasted a mere of 10 mins.. I am pretty sure a pedicure should last atleast 20-25 mins. It seemed like they just wanted us out. The pedicure did not even feel like I got anything done. Jusy felt like she slapped on the nail polish. No cleaning or anything. I really thought I found a new salon but I guess I am still on the hunt for a place where I can get good service. :(Read Less

Actually one of THE WORST nail salons I have EVER been to. The woman (Ashley) that did my nails FORCED me to get a new set when all I needed was a fill. My nails are ALLL crooked and different lengths. I asked for coffin and I have nothing close to that on my nails. They're just big ugly squares. They're also SO sharp that I've cut myself once already and I keep scratching myself (and other people!). Above all else, after she INSISTED I get a full set, so went on to remove what I had on by TEARING off my old acrylic, instead of sanding it down. It was SO painful I nearly came to tears. At that point I wanted to just walk out but she had already cut all my nails down and I didn't know where else to go. My nails are SO sore today I can't even type on my keyboard. I am never going back there and I suggest others refrain from visiting this place too.Oh and lastly, their advertised prices are BullSHIT. Full set is NOT $34; she charged me $50, for shit work. Went to get my nails done. Paid $83 for my nails and they're all wrong. The design is crooked, "out of the lines" , and my nail shape is all wonky. Areas that should be filled are only half filled. I kept trying to tell the nail tech what I wanted and she just was not listening. I was getting my nails done for an event and got stuck with this horrible job that I way overpaid for. My first visit was probably back in 2011, and I was really impressed from the get go with their creative designs and colour selection. The application, shaping is the best in town, other places butcher the look. They can do any design you ask for and you wont be disappointed. I had my pedicure done and they soaked my feet in water for a few minutes then put nail polish on my toe nails, which cost me over $33dollars.
