This is the very first nail salon that I've ever been too that is horrible. The reviews don't lie this place is unhygienic, over priced, awfull customer services, they will laugh in your face for wanting your equipment clean. I will never return nor would I recommend. Read Less

Cheap, efficient, ok massage chairs. Only person I would go to see there is Tony. He's good, quick and a nice happy person. Everyone else there looks bored and could care less if you're there or not. Like you're a burden to deal with. So all stars are really for Tony. Read Less

I think the service I received yesterday was trash. My nails looks horrible and the tech. Had the nerve to get an attitude because I said “I won’t be back!” My nails are lumpy and you can feel the dust. That the tech didn’t bother to wipe off. Before she put my top coat on. Staff is extremely rude and rushed. Salon is dirty and i do not see any sterilizing going on. Tools are reused from person to person. I agree with previous reviews where when you pick a colour, they tell you it's ugly and to pick another one. Work is way below par. I have been there quite a few times over the years out of desperation because they have decent hours. But every time i leave angry and wondering how people (the staff) can be so rude??? I made a last minuite appointment in a Friday as I knew they were opened the latest in the mall. I called and they had a appointment opened. I get  there at 7:20pm and I was put in one of the pedicure chairs.  My service requested was a gel polish mani plus a pedicure.  First of all I know they most of not all Professionails are Asian runned and they will talk in their language.  I was fine with that.  They had told me to pick a polish and I did.  The lady who was doing my pedicure was removing my existing nail polish on (Regular).  She used remover then the electric dremal Machine ( okkkay I was a bit nervous)  Water to too hot as well.  The pedicure turned out okay (or so it seemed).  She only did one layer of top coat which I asked for 2Lady doing my manicure was very rushed and told me the colour I picked wasnt good.. It was too Summer ?? Overall they chatted with each other and I was in and out.  Nothing too crazy happened. As I get home to analyze the work I noticed my left foot still had a blue stain on the heel and ball of the foot. The blue stain is the stuff that was in the pedicure chair. Very unhappy with my experience. I got my nails done by Savenda & she was very lazy. The length of my nails didn't match. I had to return the next day so another tech could fix them. Her light also wasn't working well so the polish dried streaky. The filing was harsh & uneven as well. I can't speak for other techs at this salon but Savenda did not pay much attention to detail. After only 3 days I already had an acrylic nail pop off. Very poor job. Read Less

I had nice long nails which I got done at another parlor and I went to get refill done and Trina who was doing my nails asked me if she wanted me to cut and I told not much “ very little” She cut them small and when I asked her not to cut more. She kept cutting and saying “ it will grow”. I told her pls don’t cut and she kept on cutting. I turned around and spoke to another person saying that she is not listening and cutting my nails instead of I telling her no and Trina literally grabbed my hand and her nails were hitting me hard and i told her to leave me and she holded my hand tight saying “I have to finish the service”. I told I am ready to pay for whatever job u have done but u cannot keep cutting and she kept saying I have to finish my service or she will call the security. Before I speak to the manager, she started taking pictures with her cell phone without my consent. I paid 42$ instead of my nails getting worse and when I spoke to the manager, she was also rude as Trina had already called her and manager was prejudice and not believing what I told. I started following Riya's on Instagram and was amazed by the Styles and artwork available at this nail salon, booked online and got in the next day! One nail technician started my coffin shaped nails and detailed the design from one of the Instagram photos I snapped from their page, my design was a new one the quilted look with crystals Riya herself helped work on my nails and I couldn't be more happy with the results! I love that you can go online to the website and see gal...leries of each lady's work so you can book with someone and actually see their nail artwork great concept especially if you are looking for high detail design nail art. The salon itself had easy access ample parking on the side of the building. The salon was clean well organized and has aesthetically pleasing decor, I also like the way the pedicure chairs are off by themselves in a open floor design but not right by the nail stations. Special thank you to Riya and Kierra for all the hard work they did getting my nail designs exactly how I wanted them pink to white ombré, gold and prism crystal accent nails and the wonderful 3-D quilted accent nails with tiny prism crystals. You lady's put in a lot of work for my beautiful nail design and I couldn't be more impressed! The receptionist was so friendly and even found a port to charge my phone so I could check in and take my finished nail photos. The options for nail art design are unlimited at this salon which in near impossible to find on the west side or Ohio for that matter, I've had my nails done in Vegas a few times and the designs pale in comparison to Riya's If you frequent salons nail or hair, if you want perfection or have a complicated design in mind you better be ready, I always pack a light snack and beverage in my purse because this kind of detailed artistry Takes a great deal of time placing tiny crystals and accent pieces. My cousin and I got acrylic nails and I only needed fills and I figured this place would be good since the prices on the sign outside the place was cheaper than what I had seen. For both me and my cousin, we weren't even asked how long or short we wanted our nails to be, they just cut them and then asked if it was good but by then it was too late to say we didn't like the length. They didn't do a good job with shaping or painting the nails either, and had made our nails bleed many times with how close and harsh they were to our cuticles. They hardly spoke and when they did it was super quiet and the masks they wear don't help one bit. When we went up to pay, our total ended up being $48 for a fill (they had it as $25 on the board) and over $50 for a new set yet $40 was the price on the board. The finished look of our nails was not what we thought we would get and now we were being charged way more than what was on the sign. I ended up asking why the price basically doubled and the lady was saying how she used shellac nail polish which is "better for you and will last longer." But she didn't tell me that is what she was using before she started on my nails. Like if I knew it was going to be almost $50 I would have just gotten a new set instead of fills. Even if shellac is better quality I don't think it should have doubled the price when I just needed fills. Also if they only use shellac nail polish--which I'm assuming they do--they should probably put 'shellac fills' or 'shellac full set' with the actual prices since those prices didn't seem to be true. When we told them we were not happy, they just laughed and the three who were working ganged up on us in a sort of way. In the end, we left the salon not happy and pretty mad. I've never had a good experience with this place and I've been there twice. The first time was to take my acrylic nails off and they constantly tried to up-sell me on getting polish so they could charge me double. I came in with my friend for the mini pedi/mani special. Big mistake. Not only did we felt rushed during it (even though it was completely empty) but it was just a horrible experience. 2 people worked on us both (so a total of 4) and instead of me chatting with my girlfriend, it was the four of them chatting and rushing us to choose a color... let me remind you that the store is empty. Anyways, so the lady tells me that since I have sneakers I should use a diff method that dries quicker and I thought ok that makes sense, and she says it costs $15 more. Ok. But somehow they decided to do both my hands and my feet even though we came in ASKING ABOUT THE SPECIAL and saying we would come back for it. The total went from $35 to $68. And they said that I didn't listen, despite their loud conversations amongst each other. I've paid $60 before for nails AT OTHER PLACES but I left satisfied and pleased with the service. I've been coming there for a few months now and Deirdre has been the best nail tech I've ever had. Well Deirdre was booked up so I had to get a fill with someone else and it ended up being Savenda. Well savenda was lazy when she did them. I've never had this many flaws in my nails before, my thumb nails aren't even the same shape, and when I tried to tell her, she told me to wait until I got a new set to reshape my nails .. ok, so then I asked her to trim down my regular nail...s bc they were getting long underneath. She did the most half ass job ever, and not only that, there is literally a hair that was on my nail that I told her about and she didn't care enough to get it off she just painted over it so now I have a fucking hair stuck underneath my nail polish. And she charged me 60+ for it. Not worth it by a long shot. I have no problem paying for quality but when the quality is trash, I'm not paying for it. I would like a refund or a credit towards my next set because I'm very disappointed in how they look. I got them done 5 days ago and the girl didn't even paint my entire nail!!! I have gone to this salon for a number of years simply because it is convenient.  That may change now.  I am pretty tired of the rudeness there.  At best, they ignore you and talk with one another as if you are not there.  At worst, my last visit, I was chastised for not picking a nail polish they had in stock.  I used their samples and tried twice to pick a polish.  I was told each time that they no longer had that polish.  Then she showed me some polishes, none that I liked. She then told me "I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS !" I tried to turn in my chair to look at what they had on the shelf, but it was hard to do since someone was working on my hands.  I then told this woman that she needed to have some patience as it is certainly not my fault if some of their samples are not actually available.Although at times things have gone well, you will never know until someone works on you.  And for sure no one had ever engaged me in any conversation.  I just watch them talk to each other and leave the customer out.  I sense disdain for the clients.  If you can choose another salon, it might be wise. I've been going to Riya's over a year now and have watched her business grow dramatically, with that being said they handle it very very well. I have never had a bad experience and always leave in awe of what the ladies have created on my nails. Make sure you make an appointment, show up early, check your attitude at the door and have fun! The guy made every single one of my nails a different length and shape. I said I didn't like it. And then him and his mom yelled at me and had a nice conversation in another language that I obviously don't know. It was very rude. I didn't even let them paint my nails after they did the clear gel. My toes shellac hack job was so bad it was bonded all over my skin. And they said I was moving around too much... well then why did they cure it.. why didn't they wipe it off my skin first? I was in tears when I left. I hate this place. I was looking for a little relaxation over the Christmas holidays and now I have to go see all my family and friends and I'm embarrassed on how bad it looks. I would seriously advise anyone to not attempt to go there... oh and btw: my toes shellac wasn't setting properly and she kept wiping some off and painting over it so I was getting all these weird layers of half set and half wiped off... Came in for the $15 "MINI MANICURE" but ended up paying $35 + 15%tip = $42.26 ! What I got was a GEL MANICURE $35... when we asked for the mini manicure. Didn't realize this until she was done with my nails. First off, I didn't even get to choose the color I wanted. The first color I chose Kimmy said was very ugly and that I shouldn't get it and told me to get the color she chose. So I picked another color instead ... but she ignored it and gave me the color SHE WANTED on my nails... very bossy she is and gave me the dirty look as if the colors I chose offended her. This place is absolutely disgusting. NONE of the nail tools are sterilized. They are thrown into a basket the girl is working from and re-used on clients with no cleaning in between! The entire salon is dirty including the massage pedicure chairs which are covered in polish and other various substances. They do not clean out the foot spas after clients and the hand towels are filthy, stained, & have a weird smell to them. While recieving the spa pedicure the nail tech took the remote for the chair out of my hands and shut it in the side drawer saying something I did not understand. If you look closer around you the products they are using, ie. Salt scrubs & lotions are stored in old food containers, labeled as "salted duck eggs" and other various containers all improperly labeled and unidentifiable to what the products truly are. Instead of having the cheap throwaway sandals for clients to use while feet are drying, they have a pile of very visibly dirty used flip flops !! When politely explained to the girl i would prefer my own sandals, she promptly tossed mine on the ground, scoffed at me in an unknown dialect and went directly to the next client. Last night was my second visit. The first time I had a set of nails with Kimmy. She was friendly and did an ok job. Last night I saw a man who was very friendly but didn't do the best of job. 2 nails needed to be fixed and they dont look like the rest of my nails. Whatever I thought to myself I cant file them when I get home. Then when I was doing the gel polish on top, he cured one coat then told me i should pick another colour to go on top of the first layer. I thought maybe cause the colour was running out but seemed to have a lot of product on the brush. I said umm no I want the colour i picked and that you just cured 1 layer on my nails. So he continued with the same colour and there was more than enough product for a second layer. I paid and left a tip. The salon looks dirty, I was noticing all the old nail clipping along the window edge and dust powder. All the towels are ragged and cloaks were stained. I would like to rate 0. Got an acrylic set. The guy who did my nails had used an unsanitized file on my natural nail. I can tell because there was powder on the file from whoever he used it on last.All my nails ended up lumpy and different shapes and completely different lengths, I asked for a rounded almond but ended up with sharp stiletto shaped nails.When I asked him to round them more he only rounded 2 nails...so i have 2 nice ones and the rest are sharp.To top it off there are many large air bubbles in my nails as well as a hair that seemed to get encapsulated in it.The acrylic is all over my cuticles and around my skin and one day later I can already feel them lifting.On a sign they advertised a full set for $40 but in the end i ended up paying around $60 due to add-ons that I didn't know cost extra. He was very fast, And honestly I felt uncomfortable because every time i tried to start a conversation he would shut it down and acted as if he was speeding through his work to get me out, not to mention he yell talked across the room in a different language to his co workers.Not Clean. Worst nail salon ever. My nails were looking very gross so I was desperate and needed a polish change. When I went in the place seemed crowded but I was told 5 minutes. I ended up waiting about 10 minutes. Once the service started the women was extremely rushed. I have never had someone take of my Shellac nail polish so rough. I asked her to change the shape of my nails to an almond/pointy shape. She told me that it couldn't be done because my nails weren't long enough, when in fact my nails are extremely long and everyone thinks they are fake. She then changed we mind and said that they would look ugly if I changed the shape. I started to believe she didn't want to go the work. It was the fastest roughest polish change of my life. What really irked me was that during my service she was going between myself and another girl. This place was also very expensive. $30 for a simple gel polish change. First time at this place and I will not be returning.I came in to get a mini pedicure with gel nail polish. I was told that someone was available but ended up waiting half an hour before someone came. The woman who did my pedicure proceeded to cut me while cleaning up my cuticles and I didn't notice until I saw her putting nail glue on my skin to adhere it. I was not okay with that. I had asked her what happened and she said it was a "hang nail". Then she started applying the gel polish and she would clean up around the nails with her nails, which were very sharp, and she kept hurting me. After she was done applying the gel she left me with the machine on and never came back. Someone else had to come and get me out of the machine and clean up my nails with alcohol. I took a look at my pedicure and noticed there was still excess nail polish on my skin, despite her clean up efforts. I've heard fantastic things about Phat Nail Salon but when it was closed on BC Day I ended up going to Lougheed mall to this place.  I never read a review on it so I went in blind and was not disappointed.  Even though they were packed, the man said 5-10 min and in fact, it was 6 min so his estimation was correct.  I thought she appropriately did my pedicure and the leg and foot massage was fantastic.  My feet feel great and toe nails look awesome.  Not sure why some other people here had such a dreadful time. I go a few times a year to get pedicures at professionail.  My feet are pretty well maintained so they don't require a lot of work.  I just go to get my nails painted nicely and I like the designs they do.  There are other locations around but I like the Lougheed mall one the best.  I liked their nail art the best here.  It can get busy so it's good to make an appointment if you're planning on going.  The place is pretty clean and they have massage chairs for you to sit in when you're getting your pedicure.  It's nothing special but it's close to home and convenient to go if I want a simple pedicure. Since moving to North Burnaby, I have been trying to find a replacement for Pretty Nail, which I practically grew up on, in Central Burnaby.I do not often get a manicure as I cannot have nail polish on for work, so this review only applies to pedicures.I rarely make an appointment for pedicures, I tend to walk in...unfortunately, you cannot seem do this in north Burnaby. I have been turned away at salons and nail places in this area of town, so I appreciate being able to walk in at Professionail. The bonus is that if they are too busy at the moment and you need to come back in fifteen to twenty minutes, you could always walk around the mall or grab a coffee at Starbucks. Now the service. My attendant was pleasant enough and efficient without being rushed. I felt comfortable and my tootsies were soft and moisturized after the treatment. However, it is now two weeks after my pedi and the Polish is already chipping.I would visit Professionail again but this is not a replacement for Pretty Nail. Read Less
