I ALWAYS come here to get my eyebrows waxed. Have been for at least 10 years now... Yesterday I had the Worst experience and will probably never go back. They were very busy, and instead of telling me there's going to be a wait or at least letting me know they have no time they took me in anyways. The lady comes into the room, RUSHES me through the process.. didn't say hi, didn't ask what I wanted (like they normally do).. she didn't even carefully apply the wax, she just slapped it on without a care. Then after all is said and done, she left the room without me even looking at them first... so I look and she BARELY EVEN TOUCHED THEM! There was no shape, and they were still bushy. I went to pay and complained and told the man at reception that I wasn't happy with my service. so they took me back in, her excuse for not asking me what I wanted and rushing through it is that "most people want big eyebrows".... which doesn't even have anything to do with my complaint. she she puts MORE WAX on my eyebrows to shape them and she ended up taking a layer of skin off with it. I didn't notice until I got home and touched my eyebrows and it started to burn. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT. I hope they get shut down. they have no idea what customer service is. I too am surprised by the negative reviews on here. I had a personal recommendation by not one but two coworkers who have been going here for years, so I tried them out a month ago and got UV gel/shellac with a design on each finger (snowflake) which Tammy did freehand and they looked amazing - I got so many compliments. I wanted a holly sprig on my thumbs and she didn't know what that was, so she asked me to draw it which I did, and also quickly brought up some pictures on my phone. She didn't push back or resist, she just did it and did it perfectly. She was efficient as well, about 40 min total. This could have lasted longer than the 2 weeks I left it on but my nails were growing out (the gel was still perfect) and Christmas was over so I wanted a change. I went back for removal/re-shellac and the tech wasn't as friendly as Tammy but she treated my hands/nails well and did a competent basic colour job. For my next colour change I booked an appt. with Tammy specifically and again I'm super happy with the results. I'll be back. Read Less

Do NOT go here. I'm writing this review on behalf of my mother, who went here quite often. Her nails usually cost 70 for the first time and 45 for each fill afterwards. She's gotten fills for over 6 months, twice a month, which means she's spent well over 600 dollars there. Then in November of 2017, they messed everything up. It usually takes only an hour to do her nails and this time the lady took over an hour and 40 minutes. She knicked the skin around her nails probably around 8 or more times with the electric sander, and to make it worse, the nails didn't last. Within about just over a week, they started cracking and the finish peeled away. She went back to the shop and politely asked for them to perhaps discount her next fill because they were already ruined and it didn't last half as long as it's suppose too. The male owner refused to give any sort of discount and said they only give discounts if it doesn't last a week (just after my mother said it only lasted JUST OVER a week) despite nothing being displayed saying such things. We didn't want a refund, just a discount since it was quite ridiculous how badly they managed to do. I went to your Lougheed Mall location on Wednesday night. It was 7.45, the mall closes at 9pm. I asked would there be time to do shellac pedi and mani. I was told yes come back in 10 minutes. I was surprised as most times it takes over an hour to do this. I was started with my pedicure around 8pm. It is OK, but the varnish could of been applied better. Time was running out, and I double checked, stating I could come back another time. I was told, no its OK. The guy that runs the place came over to the pedi chair and took off my shellac. Then another lady came over and started the manicure. I could tell she was rushing, and stated again that I could come back. When all the manicures are done at a table under proper lighting I was questioning how could she do a good job standing over me. My hands were not even resting on anything. Today is Friday and my fingernails have already chipped. My nails still look a bit yucky underneath. I feel as though I was rushed through just so they got a payment. Of over $80 I may add. Worst manicure ever. I rarely leave a review non the less give 1 star. DO NOT GO. My mom, my sister and I walked in to ask if they had time for 2 fast manicures and pedi. The lady sat us down to do both of us at the same time which was a bit odd but sure. She must have stood up at least 15-20 times to take payment and direct people and clean and welcome every time someone walked in. I mean, seriously.... My nail got bubbles so I asked to be fixed but she said it was because of the top coat, filed and suggested that we apply sparkle to "hide" it. Nail polish and top coat was applied so sloppily. If you are busy then say you can't take walk-ins. We stayed in the shop for more than 1.5 hours for a manicure that was suppose to take 20 minutes according to herself. We asked for basic pedi for my mom and she charged us for the "spa-pedi", $10 more expensive. I tipped because I figured my mom got her pedi but after I regrette even tipping a little bit. The quality is worse then if you were to do it at home. You can see the line where she hurried to put on a top coat and didn't cover the whole nail. At the end we were so frustrated that we just left the shop thinking we will fix it ourselves at home. I started going to Professional Nails about 4 years ago on recommendation of a friend who had been to them. I have always been very satisfied and happy with the results of both pedicures and manicures. The staff are friendly and helpful, will fit me in when I don't book ahead, rescue me when my hands and nails are suffering from overuse and I always leave glad that I took time out to visit them. I am shocked by some of the reviews, I have been going to this place for 10 years! All the ladies are super sweet and they all do a great job. If I have ever had a nail break or messed on up myself they take care of it. I have never been over charged. They are always up front on their prices if I want a design they tell me the cost before they start! Read Less

All these negative reviews are just people that want to complain about everything. I've been going to Professional for over a year, often and I've experienced not only great manicures, fills and pedicures each time, but good customer service. It is a cheap nail salon, known for that... If you want exceptional customer service, go to some overpriced swanky salon in dt Vancouver and get basically the same job for quadruple the price. Don't go to professional, pay cheap prices and complain about customer service. I've been to all types of salons and I choose to go there because I'm looking for a good priced nail fill or pedicure.
