Beware of the eyelash extension service here. I booked a classic set and left with volume that made me look like I was wearing glamour strip lashes, and the entire set is covered in excess glue so they're really uncomfortable on my eyes. 2polished down the road is 10x better and only slightly more expensive. I walked in with no appointment on a Saturday when they were understaffed, looking for a shampoo and blowout. I was getting a fabulous shampoo and scalp massage within 15 minutes and they even curled my hair after once they found out it was for a wedding! My sister went in this salon to get a subtle balyage on her dark brown/black hair. She provided the darker picture as the overall look she wanted. They said they do that all the time and quoted $200. 4 hours later she came out with the mess in the lighter picture. I come here as often as I can. Good customer service, warm welcome and very nice owner, Jenny. I don't trust my nails and eyelashes to anyone except for ANNIE. She really makes time in scrubbing my feet, cleaning my cuticle and making sure that the eyelashes extensions are perfect. JENNY, is very good in styling, coloring my hair. Messy Shellac manicure... I came in at 5pm and they close at 7pm. They informed me that if they finish quickly and there are no other clients they get to leave early. I was the only one there. They rushed my polish change and did a messy job compared to the other place I usually go to (Chi Nails in New West). Grossly Overcharged and poor colour job from Eric. I found them on the web and booked the services online. I thought this feature was really neat. I have blonde hair and asked for some highlights and a "few" low lights with a balayage. I got DARK hair and honestly the worst colour ever. I ended up having to go somewhere else to have it corrected. The price at the till was $100 MORE than I was quoted which was $275. I ended up paying $375 for a treatment that lasted less than 1.5 hours. They refused to honour the web price because I had long hair. It's just kissing my shoulders. Its not long and they never mentioned the higher price. It's a nice salon but the price and colour job with Eric were awful. I would never go back. I paid 50$ for the worst haircut I've ever had. The goal was a trim on my long layers. The result was one blocky, blunt layer all the way around with a chunk on the right side that is for some reason 2 inches shorter than anywhere else. Unhappy about dedicating the next year to growing this disaster out. He deserves a negative rating for his work. I'd like to shave a 2 inch chunk off his head so he'd know how it feels. I've been here for nails and hair and it's always been a nice experience. Recently Eric cut my hair and put a few summer highlights in. When I got home I noticed that there was a bit of a chunk in the front which I wasn't crazy about, and when I called, the booked me in for the next day and corrected it for no charge. I'm writing a review about my wonderful hair stylist Tina ! My service was absolutely splendid. She was patient when I really gave her a difficult time with my hair. I had previously dyed my own hair blue and then tried to cover it with black.... If you can't imagine it... Just think of it as a total nightmare. I started off my first session with just highlights. By the time I was done with my 2 sessions with Tina, I was able to get my hair to a metallic grey ombre !!!She fully educated me and answered all my questions. I have very fine and thin hair. So, two sessions were perfect enough to lift my natural color and then dye it without totally obliterating my entire head. My hair was dry from the bleach but she reccomended me great masks and was thorough with the after care.Its always a great time with her and afterwards. Thank-you J.diem salon! Read Less

Came in on Sunday for waxing. I was quoted $30 for half leg, $15 for underarms $10 for eyebrows even asked the price at counter when I got there. In the end I was charged $76.... they charged me $39.90 for legs and $25 for underarms. Fealing ripped off and won't be coming back. Read Less

I don't know how their hair stylists are but nails aren't good. I got a gel set with plastic tip extensions. Unprofessional, I was rushed out and didn't get what I wanted and the aesthetician knew it and let me walk out unhappy. After I went home (to clean up my own nails..) the polish that was overhanging off the tip came off and looked jagged and disgusting so I took the nails off myself. I'm not usually one to complain, but I'm hoping by this comment the owner will take hiring more seriously.I went in for a hair wash and blowout yesterday, which I think is the basic of the basics of hairdressing. But, it went wrong right from the get go. The girl who was washing my hair asked me to take off my own hair tie, which was weird. At every other salon I've been to, they are the one who does it for me (yes even cheap ones). But then I thought it wasn't a big deal. So I took out my hair tie. Then the girl grabbed my hair very roughly that she snatched my hair and I said "Ouch!" out loud from the scalp pain. Instead of, "I'm sorry", she proceeded with, "Are you okay?" like I did something to myself.She only wet my hair for a few seconds. Only the ends were wet and my scalp was still dry. She puts shampoo on my hair but barely touched my scalp (Do I need to tell her the scalp is the dirty part that needs cleaning??) Instead, she was rubbing the ends of my hair. I cringed on the inside hearing the sound of my hair rubbing against each other. And she did this TWICE! After rinsing the first time, I thought she's gonna get it right the second time around. But nope. Every time she rinses my hair, my face gets wet from her touching it, trying to cover it from water, which she didn't do properly. After "washing", she puts conditioner on my hair. And guess what she did? She worked on my scalp!! Which hairdresser doesn't know conditioners shouldn't go on the scalp?!Her blow-out skill was just as horrible. My roots were still damp when I walked out of the salon and my hair was not soft and silky as it should be with a blowout. I gave her some tips out of habit, only to realize later that I shouldn't have. She did everything that she was not supposed to do! Doesn't even have the basics of hair washing down. I don't even know why she works in the salon. Or worse, who hired her? It's only the second day and my scalp is already oily and dirty again (I had flakes on my scalp walking out from that salon). My wavy hair can usually go for 4 days without washing and not get oily.Never thought I'd ever write such a long complain for just a wash and blowout. What a waste of time and money. I have had maybe 8 pedi/ mani's. Started out good, last 3 have been unsatisfactory! One did not have enough coats on toes so it looked spotty. One the nail polish cracked after 10 days while on vacation, I was away for 3 weeks, when I got back in to see the staff, I was treated like I was lying, then I was told I must of been rough on them, then I was told a pedicure only last for 1 week. On Thursday I gently told them again, and was told in front of another customer that ped...icures only last for a week the women beside me states hers usually last for a month maybe even 2 with good care, certainly not only a week. However the mani I had done this past Thursday was done while sitting in the pedicure chair, my cuticles were not cut away, or hang nails, no hand massage and the line between polish and nail bed, looks like I have had the mani for 10 days ( gets shellac). I feel ripped off and intend on going back for refund, will never return to this place of business again! Due to poor treatment! I know people make mistakes, but own and amend it!!! If I could give a negative star, I would. I made the mistake of trying this place out because a friend got highlights done by Jenny.  I went in to get caramel highlights and a trim. I have never had such unhealtthy hair in my life after my visit here, it took me about a year for my hair to go back to it's normal state.The "trim" consisted of a unique method called "texturizing" which basically meant thinning out my hair at the roots. I do have thick hair, and I have gotten it thinned out by adding layers and thinning the ends, however, I have never had my hair thinned from the roots.I didn't realize what she was doing until the end when I ran my hands through my hair and could feel a buzz cut like feeling underneath my hair. She basically cut hair out from the roots in order to lessen the thickness of my hair. After a month or two when my hair started growing, the roots that she cut would  stick out and it just felt so gross to run my hands through. It was a traumatizing experience and it took me a really long time to step back into any salon after this visit. never never going back or recommending this place to anyone. Read Less

This place knows how to take care and pamper their customer's. The owner knows everyone by name when they walk in. They are friendly, and create a fun comforting experience. I have only ever had the owner cut my hair, and she is amazing! The colour work she does is second to none! I have told a few girlfriends about this salon, and they are now repeat clients. I went to get my eye brows and lip threaded and I was so scared because I don't do we'll with facial pain lol but to my surprise Jenny had such a soft hand and I didn't feel a thing and to top it off she did such a great job . Also the same day I decided to get my hair done by her and it came out better then I would have ever imagined ! She's great to talk to . Also when I was getting my hair washed her assistant or someone else who works there gave me a great massage and always made sure I was comfy . The price was great and I'll defiantly be coming back . Although Yelp is all about the good, the bad, and the ugly, it is after some thoughtful reflection that I have decided to review only for the good - taking up the 'bad' and 'ugly' with a given establishment directly from here on in. As someone with a significant other who owns small businesses, I want folks to do well! Raves are better than rants. And I digress... As such, I charge forth with my first review in forever! After a 3 year hiatus from beautiful nails (no thanks to school!) I have been on the hunt for a nail tech that could even come close to the one I previously had that has gone on to bigger and better ventures too far away for me to commute. After 3 failed attempts at other nail salons (again, no business bashing!), I've finally settled in to what will be my new go-to nail joint, with Kathy T at the helm. Quick, thorough, reasonably priced and open Sundays and holidays?! Sigh. So. Very. Happy. They also take walk-ins; perfect for my on-call, shift-working, disorganized ADD self. Also, I am thrilled to report that the salon is impeccably clean and modern and close to home for me. Done and done! I will be giving their hair and threading services a try in the very near future! J Diem Salon is terrible for hair, their products dried out my hair to straw. They also dyed it the wrong color I asked multiple times for dirty blonde they ended up giving me dark reddish brown. I had also shown two pictures of the blonde color I wanted and explained on a lot of occasions what I wanted to make sure they got I right. I have extension that also needed dying, they dyed them brown as well but a completely different shade than my reddish brown hair they gave me. When I went into to complain about the bad hair and they denied my hair ever being blonde even after multiple pictures of my natural hair color. They then said they would try and use even more toner that would lead to even dryer hair. I will never go back to this place. It's the worse hair place I have ever been too. This was a different experience than what I was used to.  Karen R. is right about the spa pedicures.  But I am used to going to a pedicure place, getting my pedicure in peace (usually the ladies don't talk a whole lot to the clients because they talk with each other in Vietnamese at my other place--and that's okay with).  At this place, my pedicurist was very chatty.  And I can do chatty.. sure.. even though it was a day where I just went out of the house without putting much effort in how I look and wasn't in a mood to socialise.  But I respect efforts made to interact.  However, my pedicurist went into asking me awkward questions that you don't ask when you don't know a person very well... Anyway, I was debating on whether to write this review or not because I didn't want only this experience above to be reflected.  The pedicure itself was clean, I saw her pull out clean tools. And the nail polish job was nice. But I did think more effort could be made to make the experience more.. like more scrubbing/buffing... massaging.. The whole experience felt quick.  Just with this I was going to go for 3 stars because $30 wasn't too bad for price, +$6 for design. In total it ended up being $45 with tip.  Also, not even a week has passed and already the stones in the design are coming off.  At my other place, it would always last 3 weeks, minimum. I'm not too sure if I would be back for a pedicure because apparently $30 is just a special and normally they are $45.  It was definitely not a $51 experience for me.  But they also do hair, so maybe i would try them out for that.
