Absolute and total rip off. I told the lady it was my first time getting gel extensions in the hopes of getting a more detailed explanation, but instead I got taken advantage of big time. I got charged $75+tax when all we did was 1 colour that costs $5 extra and glitter on one nail each hand which I was told was another $5. Your website states that gel extension are $50+, so considering I only went $10 exta it should have cost only $60. I wish I had realized that in the salon! I cannot believe I tipped her too, because upon further inspection, my nails are uneven and the colour is not completely opaque on all nails. Yesterday was my first time there. I took my daughter who is 8 with me to get her nails painted too. I wanted gel powder nails because my nails are so thin. We waited for about half hour and I was told there was only two people who can do the gel powder and I couldn't get them done with it. So I said acrylics are fine as long as the person who does them are easy on my nails. The girl that did them was sweet and nice and did a great job with my nails. I had a wonderful experience today . I received a gift card last year for Christmas, so I had to use it by this holiday. For another Nail Place in Cleveland! I went to this place....Horrible is the only word to use. I had enough left over for a fill in on my card. Not wanting it to go to waste I return. I am seated by one of the owners. The owner begins working on my nails saying how bad a job it was....I told her it was done here,and pointed to the person that did the... job. Could not be 3 minutes a friend of hers walks in the door...she had someone else finish my job....I had 3 nails that came out awful......that's the behind the scene story........CITY STAR NAILS here I come....I walk in TRAN is the person that took care of me.....she told me the problems with the nails she told me what to do to fix it. Yesterday was my 2nd time there. There will not be a 3rd. The wait was horribly long, then they put me in a chair, to have me wait some more. Then the guy who was going to do my nails, looked at my nails, which are mine, which are long, called the manager back, had a discussion in their language, then asked was I planning to use all 3 colors I picked. Was I getting a design similar to what I had now? Then states that because of my length, it would be 40 for my nails without d...esigns or anything extra. Who does this? Why did there need to be a meeting before starting my nails, after a almost 2 hour wait. I did notice that they were very nice to their White customers only, prices are to high! I've been to this Salon a few times and will not return. Every time I've gone there, doesn't matter what day or time of day it is, I always seem to wait wait over 1 1/2 hours before I'm seen. People come and go before I have to ask why I'm still waiting. Being a woman of color and seeing that there are always, only Caucasian women being served when I go there makes me think somethings wrong with that picture. This lady was so rude. Like if this work is too gross for you, You should not be doing it! I went to get a mani and pedi because I have been walking around town and the beaches for the last 2 weeks visiting vancouver. So my feet were in rough shape. People go get pedicures when their feet are bad. This lady made me feel so bad about how bad my feet were. She moaned and complained the whole time. Took at least 4, 5 minute breaks. Then continued to talk about how bad my feet were to the owner, right in front of me. She even charged me extra to clean up my feet. If I'm paying extra you should shut up and do your job. Not make me feel worse. I was going to get a mani too but I did not want to give this rude establishment another dollar of my money. $60 for a pedicure and she didnt even put cream on my feet or givr any kind of massage and to be treated like that!!! A great little nail salon across from Metrotown that's bright and airy with a pretty decor! I always drive by this area and never knew this place existed until a friend told me about it. This shop has been around for 10 years! May, the owner does beautiful nails. She takes pride in their work and cleanliness! I recommend trying Blue Moon. Read Less

I have been to so many places to have my pedi and mani and extensions. And to have it all done in one place was Only for convenience but I was very skeptical; I mean they can't be good at everything. Came here on a lunch break between clients and got the paraffin wax and pedicure.  My gal pal got the full treatment, Mani, Pedi, Paraffin Wax, nail polish.  Pricing is decent, about the same as the places I go to in Richmond or elsewhere.  Service was decent.  The staff here were nice.  Bi-lingual Chinese staff and friendly too.One thing I noticed about most of these places is that the Paraffin Wax doesn't seem to be as good as when you go to those really expensive spas.  Other than that, I think it's always good to take care of  your feet and hands regardless if you are a man or woman.Who wants to look at ugly wrinkled, dried up feed anyways?So do yourself a favour guys and treat your girl or lady friend or wife or significant other. I love this place. The staff is amazing and will listen to all your requests. My technical for my first visit was Andrea and she is amazing! I got UV gel nails for $35 and was also presented with a $5 off coupon as well. I'm very happy with my manicure!As for the actual salon, it was very well kept, clean and tidy. They had the tv on an entertainment channel when I was there and then it changed to an episode of Dr. Phil, my favourite! This just added to my wonderful experience. Got gel nails french tip at this place today. if i had checked the reviews before i probably wouldnt have given them a try. i had a very good experience. the space is clean and i like how they have a nice waiting area. i was the only one there so i felt like i was first priority- 1 person working on them & 2 other workers watching in interest & making conversation. she took the time to make sure they were perfect & what i wanted. the only reason i didnt give this place 5 stars is because it is a bit pricy compared to other salons ive been to. 14/100I have been going here on and off for a few months seeing Renee. She is very particular, Very precise. The polish is always even. Perfect, I might say. And she seemed happy I remembered her name. Bit pricey for the neighbourhood for a polish change ($20 with tip), but she does a good job. Now we will see how long it lasts. I never bet on more than a week, from any salon. I think  this will be my new salon since I always get taken right away and sometimes they have the soothing nature channel on. If I could give this place no stars I would because this has got to be the worse nail salon in burnaby! I've been here two times because the lady I usually go to was always booked and I work ood hours so very hard for me to make an appt because at the time it wasn't convenient and I needed to get my gel nails refilled asap so I came to blue moon nail salon. First thing I noticed was the place was really cluttered and kinda dirty.. the staff mostly spoke chinese and the girl I got was a young girl who had her table in the middle... she was kind of rude and seemed bored doing nails.. my biggest complaint is she was really rough with my nails and every time she buffed and filed my nails they hurt and burnt. She and her another staff kept talking in chinese i actually understand chinese but they dont seem to care and spoke openly about about charging everyone money money money and the girl who did my nails kept starring down at the clients walking around afraid they wont pay for they're nails and kept telling the other staff to watch them and make sure they pay... talk about akward. anyways thinking maybe other staff wont be as rough and more professional i came back for a second visit and this time I got an older lady. She was worse than the other girl because she ended hurting  my cuticles.They were sore red and bleeding so I asked her to be gentle because she was causing me pain but she just smiled and said oh it doesnt hurt. She tried making small talk and told me about herself and about her working in the nail salon. I asked her if she enjoys what she does and she looks at me and saids no. The same girl who did my nails the first visit was also there next to us working on a client and the two staff start to speak chinese about money.. again! anyways I ended up with average looking gel nails with sparkles nothing speical they over charge for everything and they're quaitlies suck,  My nails were buring from the drill I had cuts on eight of fingers/cuticles they were throbbing and appeared red. The part that really pissed me off was when she applied cuticle oil on them she scraped the pointy part across the sore cut cuticles that were inflammed because of her in the first place.. this has never happend to me before of the 4 years Ive been getting my nails done. To make things worse after two weeks of having those gel nails eight of the nails starting breaking from within the nail bed.. it was such a painful experience a lot of blood, pain, sore finger tips and ugly broken nails. I just came back from Blue Moon and I'm sure I won't be back anytime soon.Today the salon I usually go to was booked full so I decided to look for other places and ended up giving this one a chance. I called to see if they were available and asked for the price. The lady said 20, in broken english. Since I really wanted to get gellish/ shellac nails done, I gave this place a try. Everything seemed fine until she was done and I noticed she painted SO far from the skin that it looked like my nails had already grown enough for a week. Then the lady said the gel shrinks once it is cured; so I wonder why she painted it so far. Once it came to the payment she announced it was 30 dollars. Then I told her that next time just say what the real price is. Then she said 20 dollars would've been if I had had a manicure done with them. Which angered me because that's not what I asked her . I tipped one dollar because I needed her to fix my nails again; and wasn't willing to shell another 30 dollars to go to another place and get my nails fixed. Read Less

I found this place because I got a promotional flyer and liked how the place looks spacious and clean on the website.  Decided to try out gel nails for the first time.  Went with my cousin and we were both very happy.  I am also pleased that I got to be the first one to review this place, yay!  I have been to 3 other different nail salons since visiting, 2 in LA and 1 in Richmond and I have to say Blue Moon gave me the best gel nails that lasts and looks the most "natural".  The other places were so mediocre that I don't even feel like yelping about it.  IMO, gel nails are a great option if you don't like your nails getting chipped or your nail colors wearing out.  I think it's also good for hands with small nails or when you want to "elongate" your nail length.  Some say it's not good because it's hard to grow out and you have to keep getting it filled.Since I was happy with their gel nails, I also tried other services offered here.  Eye lash - I tried the semi-permanent eyelash extension for my birthday and that was my first time as well.  I did get many compliments on my pretty eye lashes as they were very natural.  I so wished I had long lashes like that every day for the rest of my life.  For the work to maintain the eyelashes and not get water in my eyes in the beginning, I may not try it anytime soon without the special occasions.  The lady was experienced and I didn't experience any pain and I like how she does each lash by each lash instead of the whole row of fake eyelash when we put on our own lashes.    Eye brow - I am happy with their eye brow waxing service as welland have gone back many times.  I used to try threading for my eye brows and I am now switching to waxing because waxing definitely lasts longer.This place is easy for me to book and in a convenient location.  I would recommend for someone who wants to try gel nails or is looking for a place for your beauty needs in Burnaby.
