Me and three of my girlfriends went for pedicures and had a great experience. The quality of the pedicure was excellent and the polish selection was huge! The chairs were very comfortable (massage!) and had adjustable backs (to recline!) and seats so you could sit as close or as far from the tub as you wanted. All of us were seated in a row and were able to visit easily. The staff were very professional and made the experience an enjoyable one. When we were all finished we were shown to a lounge area with a big couch and snacks and were encouraged to relax until we were ready to go (and our toes dried). I had a massage yesterday morning (90$ for 60 minutes) the massage itself was really good however they have Japanese mint oil advertised on their shelves and I had that used on me once before and I loved it as it helped me with headaches and muscle aches. when I asked my massage therapist to use it - she said she can't use that oil because she is pregnant. nothing against her being pregnant - I just wish I knew about the restrictions when I booked and when I pay 90$ for a treatment and I can't get to use the oil I requested. there should be something letting the guests know about the restriction during time of booking. My first time here and I had a great experience. Chrystal was amazing, she was my massage therapist. I prefer to not talk during massages, and she was quiet as a mouse which I loved, and gave me a great massage. Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff I will definitely be back. The prices are a tad high ($90 for a 60 minute massage) and they only direct bill for Blue Cross, but I am thoroughly relaxed and happy with my overall experience (that's where benefits come in handy!). I have used Urban Retreat for a couple years now for massage therapy. I was first introduced to them by a gift card that was given to me. I was lucky to find Crystal, a wonderful Registered Massage Therapist. Over the years I have had many back issues stemming from a rear end accident several years ago, re injuring it a few years later. Crystal has since worked along with me to create better movement and significantly decrease pain, as well as provide me with several helpful ...tips to work on at home to keep my back in the best condition possible. There has been a few times I have called in short notice requesting a massage asap as I was in a lot of pain or have a migraine that wont let up. The staff was very considerate and accommodating getting me in the same day or the next. They are very professional from booking to services to payment. The space itself feels warm and comfortable surrounded by knowledgable staff members. I just spent most of my day here, and it was magical. I'd highly recommend getting a treatment at Urban Retreat! I was lucky enough to experience the "Pamper Package" which was almost 6 hours of pure luxury. Everything from the massage to the mani-pedi was amazing! I especially loved my facial with Katie. I was in Edmonton over the Christmas visiting my Children and lucky enough to visit Urban Retreat. From the moment I entered the beauty salon the staff were so friendly and amazing I knew I was in for a great experience. I had a full facial as Pamela designed it around my skin needs as it was quiet dehydrated due to traveling and to much celebrating over the Christmas ( Being Irish we celebrate each occasion way to much ) Wow it was the best I have ever experienced and the massage to follow was amazing! I felt my skin looked and felt 20 years younger, I felt I floated off the table I was so relaxed. The whole experience was amazing and would highly recommend Urban Retreat, I will definitely be back on my next visit. Just wish we had such a great facility back home! I see Sandra on a regular basis and would not have it any other way. She knows exactly what needs to be done without even asking.
