I have used this salon twice. I will just share my 2 experiences and let you make your own decision. My first experience was great. The best gel nails I have had in a very long time, amazing shape and the design was beautifully painted. The lady I saw (Chantel) didn't seem very pleased to have me as a client, but thought maybe she was having a bad day or tired from my long 4 hour service (removal and new set). I let it go and decided to go back because her nails were so fantastic! I passed out her card to thank her for her service even. My second visit made my decision to never go back. I had decided on a few photos of nails with the designs I wanted from Pintrest. Chantel and I sat down at the tables to begin (refill). She asked me about colours, I showed her, "here are the nails I would like". She said "no, too much work", so I showed her the second photo and again she said "no", I tried making compromises on the nails to make them easier. She said no. So I said fine, do what you like. We ended up doing some stamping work which was okay. The shape was amazing, but I didn't feel like the nails popped with excitement, the way I wish they did. She was extremely cold sitting at the table...again. I regret handing our her card because I wouldn't want someone to have the same experince that I had. We both kinda tried to make conversation, but her customer service skills need work. Before I left the salon, I was informed I should take my business elsewhere. I asked if we could just book my sessions an hour longer so we could do some more intricate designs. I was refused longer sessions than two hours which only leaves 20 mins for design. Which my experince has shown isn't enough time. False advertisement for designer nails in my opionion. The fact that it took 2 months to get my first appointment and then the service wasn't that great, the timing refusal and design refusal has made my choice. I will no longer be attending this salon. Happy nail shopping ladies :)
OH! last addition, I offered to pay rediculous amounts for my nails for the extra hour. I told them they could over charge me and yet I was still told to go to another salon. I would pay $200 for a set of nails, but I will take my money else where.

There was so much hype about this place, how long it takes to get an appointment, the "best" nail place in Edmonton. I had my first appointment today and it was ... fine. There is no difference between this place and any other place I've walked into. The girl who did my pedi was nice. It's not a warm or welcoming place, but it was clean. The prices are about the same as any other place. So don't wait for an appt here if you need your nails done sooner. Just go any other place--it'll be about the same thing.

I have been to Kumi on 3 separate occasions for 3 different types of service. The receptionist is very polite and welcoming. The setup of the salon is nice and clean.

I have been to Kumi on 3 separate occasions for 3 different types of service. The receptionist is very polite and welcoming. The setup of the salon is nice and clean.
First visit, I had a facial done. Extractions were done well, she even included a message at the end it was a nice experience.
Second visit was for a full set, though my nails looked nice upon leaving. The next day a nail came right off. However they do have a 5 day nail guarantee, they will fix your nail free of charge if it breaks within 5 days from getting your nails done. Unfortunately, my nails lifted within 2 weeks of them done. Getting in for a next appointment was next to impossible as they were booking up to 6 weeks in advance.
Third visit, was a pedicure which was just okay. The nail application could have been neater and again not even 2 weeks in and the nail polish has peeled off.
Overall, this establishment is nice, service is good. However for the price you pay for the services is not worth it. Paying for services that last under 2 weeks is just not worth it to me. If you want to go somewhere nice and don’t care about the longevity of your nails breaking or coming off within 2 weeks. This is your place to go to.

This salon forces you to get a fresh set when you see them but cannot accommodate appointments to maintain your manicure (only one employee at a nail salon knows how to do acrylic nails, saywut?) Amy did a good job the second time but my first set kept breaking due to an obvious lack of experience in acrylic.
I would go back maybe if appointments weren’t a month long wait for fills.

I came to Kumi for a pedicure with 3 friends, they offer a sangria bar when booking a party which is amazing! I had Miryeong and she has great attention to detail. For the price compared to cheap places you get what you pay for and the polish STAYS. My feet stay looking healthy until my next appt. Highly recommend

Absolutely love this place, I have been coming here at least once a month for just over a year and would highly recommend it to anyone! They have SOOOOO many color options and can do TONS of fun designs and colours. They are on top of the nail trends and offer a variety of services.
Although the prices are a bit higher than other places, you pay for what you get and that is quality!
Tip: They are super busy so book in advance. I like to book my next 2 appointments before I leave my appointment!

Came here for the first time and highly recommend it! Hayley did my nails and I love them, she was really quick but my nails are done to perfection. They have a wide range of colours to choose from, they make sure you're happy with everything along the way and make sure that there's nothing you want to change. They had a promotion on so the price was very reasonable but they said it'll be back to normal for the next appointment. The only downside is that they are so busy so it's hard to get an appointment when you'd like it so you have to go with what they have.

Probably called no exaggeration but at least 20 times on different occasions and can never get in. No one is willing to make time squeeze in or get more clientele. Kumi you're awful.

I just had my first ever pedicure today for mother's day and I must say it was nice ..I also went in for a full set I have tried lots of places and have never had my nails turn out as good as they did...

I paid quite a bit of money for services a little over a week ago. 2 days after having a new set of tip put on, one broke. Due to work schedule I couldn't get back until today. The woman argued with...
I paid quite a bit of money for services a little over a week ago. 2 days after having a new set of tip put on, one broke. Due to work schedule I couldn't get back until today. The woman argued with me as to how it broke. She drilled off the tip and placed a new one, put it on crooked and left it. When she finished she painted the nail with black specks in it. The other nails are separating and she refused to fix them, said it was growth. Not when all of the nails are separating at the bottom and sides of my nail bed. Not happy with the service I received today. Not sure I will return.

I have used this salon twice. I will just share my 2 experiences and let you make your own decision. My first experience was great. The best gel nails I have had in a very long time, amazing shape and the design was beautifully painted. There was so much hype about this place, how long it takes to get an appointment, the "best" nail place in Edmonton. I had my first appointment today and it was ... fine. First visit, I had a facial done. Extractions were done well, she even included a message at the end it was a nice experience.

Amy did a good job the second time but my first set kept breaking due to an obvious lack of experience in acrylic.

Absolutely love this place, I have been coming here at least once a month for just over a year and would highly recommend it to anyone! They have SOOOOO many color options and can do TONS of fun designs and colours. They are on top of the nail trends and offer a variety of services.

Came here for the first time and highly recommend it! Hayley did my nails and I love them, she was really quick but my nails are done to perfection. They have a wide range of colours to choose from, they make sure you're happy with everything along the way and make sure that there's nothing you want to change. They had a promotion on so the price was very reasonable but they said it'll be back to normal for the next appointment.
