The stylists here are good and the salon itself is really nice looking but the manager is ridiculous and unprofessional. She was wandering around gossiping about staff and I figured she was just a catty employee but when I asked my stylist who she was I came to find out that she's the manager, Christina. Apparently this is the way she does business by bullying and picking on the employees in FRONT of customers. I found the mood really changed once she showed up as well. I won't be back there again. Brought my daughter in for a classic pedicure with gel polish with India and Marjorie and it was excellent. The colour selection is amazing and the chocolate vanilla foot soak and oil for massage is incredible! We left feeling really pampered and our gel polish lasted 7 weeks before growing out, no chips! I had an appointment today to have my hair and makeup done. It's my birthday. I had a previous appointment up the street prior and it was running later than expected. I called ahead and let them know how late I was going to be and was told it was all good. When I got there it was a different story, the girls were so rude to me I left in tears. I ended up leaving completely deflated without any of my booked services and am completely flabbergasted at the lack of empathy by the staff to try and accommodate. I will not be back. Read Less

I love icon. I have been coming here for years. They're the only full-service boutique spa in Edmonton. You can get your make up done, nails, hair and make up all in one place. They also do waxing. I had the pleasure of booking Icon Hair & Body for my wedding this July and boy did they make us look good! lol I had hair and makeup done for myself and my bridal party on the day, on site at my parents house, as well as a trial run of my hair and makeup at the salon. Sara and the rest of the girls were friendly and professional, and were able to give everyone the look they wanted, while keeping us all relaxed and laughing. The on site option was wonderful as being able to be in a familiar space and not having to rush to and from a salon helped us all to relax that much more. My hair and makeup lasted beautifully all through the day and I didn't have to touch up anything, even though they did provide me with an emergency fix-up kit just in case. My daughter went there last Saturday to get an up do done for her grade 12 graduation and we were not happy with the hairdresser Brooke. My daughter showed her a picture of what she wanted and it was nothing like the pictures. She had to redo her hair and we were there for 2 1/2 hours. My issues is that Brooke the hairdresser was very rough with my daughters hair when she had to redo the hairstyle. Telling my daughter that she should've worn her contacts so see could see better and also told her that she should've booked a consult before. I got my makeup done for a special occasion, even though I'm a makeup artist in training. I'm always willing to learn, and I just wanted to change up my look. The girl was so sweet and kind. Though I wish she paid attention to what I was saying a little more. She didn't take what kind of skin type I had into consideration, nor what kind of dress I had. I told her I have a light blue dress for a wedding, and the girl gave me a warm toned brown eyeshadow. Also my skin was so oily looking, I swear she didn't even set it. Whenever I have a business trip up to Edmonton I am always sure to book an appointment with Christy. She is fun, interesting, and can always trust her to do a great job. I don't even have to tell her how I like it. She doesn't ever ask the most annoying jaw clenching thing that most places ask "what number you want". She is legit. This review is only relevant to bridal hair - I haven't come here for any other services, so I can't speak to that. But, if you're looking for a place to get your hair done for your wedding day, along with your bridal party, this is the place!! I booked myself and my four bridesmaids in to get our hair done for my wedding day. Christina was very helpful with the booking process and recommending the amount of time we would need to get ready. I had my hair trial about a month and a half before the wedding when I was in town, and I was so impressed with my stylist. My hair was perfect on the first try, and she was able to bring my vision to life while tailoring it to my features. I was a bit nervous on the big day that everything would go smoothly and we would be on time. I had nothing to worry about. We were finished around 20 minutes earlier than Christina estimated. Our stylists were super personable, kind and fun. We decided to get our hair done at the salon, and you get mimosas and snacks, which was a really nice touch. Went in and asked for a specific color came out with some totally wrong and didn't even look like they did anything after being there for almost 5 hours ..and still cost over $200 what a rip off and they gave no compensation for doing something I didn't want or ask for ! My experience was amazing. I went for a full experience of manicure, pedicure, hair, and make up as I was going to a wedding. I felt pampered like a princess through the whole process. It was my first time getting a pedicure and the fact that you are in a private room where you can lay down helps you to relax a lot. Marjorie did my pedicure and then my manicure. I come here once a month for brow tint/wax and a gel manicure from Amelia. It's been close to a year now and I wouldn't go anywhere else. The staff is super friendly, it's a clean environment, and they don't mess up my face or nails. As well as this, the prices for a gel manicure are very cheap compared to other places in the city that normally charge $75 a set. She does my nails so well that I can go 6 weeks or longer without breakage - I posted a picture below of my nails after 6 weeks grow out, still completely intact. For my eyebrows, I find the tint and wax lasts about 5 weeks, and by that time my brows need to be done again because they grow fairly quickly. She does this in a private room, which is a nice change from sitting at some mall outlet or something where other people walk around you checking on different products and there are 10+ people in line behind you waiting on a brow wax. You're not rushed, and she takes her time to shape perfect brows. My eyebrows are my life, I love them and I always end up with perfect brows here. Read Less
