I drop in with friends when we’re in Canmore. Have been about half a dozen times? We’ve primarily enjoyed pedicures and massages. The atmosphere is super relaxing. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. Prices aren’t bad. I experienced the most painful pedicure I’ve ever had anywhere during my second last visit and left a comment card but disappointingly was never contacted by management. I realize sometimes things don’t go the way you want in life onviously and I did go back respectfully ensuring I was assigned to a different girl. Went well and will continue to visit. A classy spa with lovely ambience and excellent services. It’s always a treat to be pampered at Rapunzel’s. The front desk staff are knowledgeable and always offer excellent advice. Unfortunately I used to love getting my hair cut here, BEFORE the pricing was great for a men’s hair cut.. but $42!?! Plus a tip?! That’s a little much for a men’s short hair cut. I can drive to Calgary get 2 hair cuts and drive back for the same price. You really should advise your clients about the price prior to the service and make your pricing more upfront. I was willing and expecting to pay around the $30-35 mark for Canmore plus tip but still shocked with the price. The stylist was friendly but unfortunately I would NOT class her as an advanced stylist!! AFTER I SHOWERED once I got home I HAD TO SHAPE AND CUT MY HAIR AGAIN!!! The bottom was not straight, long pieces everywhere and fluffs of hair left. Not impressed at all!!! Read Less

I always make sure to book a couples massage when I visit Canmore. This spa is above and beyond in relaxation and service. Went for a bridal hair and makeup trial. Makeup was good, hair I left wanting to completely cover it. Back was nice, Front was terrible. When asked if i she could fix it, was told we can do that on the wedding day. and way over priced. within 4 hours of having it done it went flat. Won't be going back. Janet was an exceptional manicurist!!! Upon entering the spa, I noticed the serene and calming atmosphere. It was a lovely, two storied facility. A friendly fireplace and cozy, yet tastefully upholstered chairs and sofa beckoned me to relax and enjoy the soft music playing in the background. Love Rapunzels!!! I am in Canmore quite often and I always choose Rapunzels for my spa services. I have had massages and pedicures and both are out of this world! The atmosphere is so relaxing, especially in their waiting room and that tea!!! I could drink it by the gallon. My most recent service was a massage and it was fantastic. They do not know how to cut thick hair. Once you wash it, if it comes forward, it will be obviously uneven. The first time, I thought it was a mistake. The second time I was beyond disappointed. I can't have them down.They won't fix it and they will blame you. These people are not to be trusted. They prefer to give you a long session of hair dryer and brushing so that it is all hidden (as if normal people have time or interest to do so) and then you are stuck with the problem. Read Less

My wife and I went for a massage here. I got Brenda and she was amazing. Seriously the best massage I've ever had. I went back for another massage that was equally amazing.  She really hit the spots that needed to be worked on and was not afraid to work hard on a few tough knots I had, where most massages I've had in the past they didn't want to dig in. Ellen was so attentive to all my trouble spots and my massage was just amazing. I did the relaxation massage but she still paid attention to tight spots and knots in my body. She also gave me amazing tips on how to do stretches to maintain a loose back and shoulders. The entire staff was very friendly and warm and excellent at what they do. As newlywed's, my husband and I went here on our honeymoon for a couple's massage.  We got our best deep tissue massages at Rapunzel's for the area.  They have everything that you would expect a top notch spa to have.  Zarah and Annette went above and beyond for us!  They are very skilled at their work and the environment inside was relaxing.  We didn't know to show up early to do paperwork so we got started late, but they added an extra 30min to our 90 min massage to make up for it!  The deep tissue massages were great to loosen up our tight muscles after a day of skiing.  We'll definitely be visiting them when we go back to Canada!  Their prices are more reasonable compared to some of their overpriced competitors in the area.  We highly recommend Rapunzel's! I've been going here every summer since around 2010  They're consistent with any other Aveda salon I've been to and I always get a great color, even when I've forgotten my formula.  Danica is good when she's around (she travels a lot).  Sarah is excellent and everyone I've had in the aesthetics department is great.  In a booming tourist town like Canmore, it's hard to find good service but this Salon rivals any other Aveda I've been to, which is refreshing.  Most service people in Canmore act like you're an inconvenience...which I suppose you are when everyone who moves here wants to play! I recently had their Aromatherapy Pedicure and Manicure. The salon's environment was very relaxing and the esthetician doing my services was attentive and easy to chat with. The manicure area and pedicure chairs seemed clean. Aveda tea was offered throughout my services. This salon uses SpaRitual nail polish and had a limited selection of colours for my manicure. I was only given about a dozen polish colours to chose from for my manicure. When I was moved into the pedicure area, there were at least triple the amount of polishes to chose from. I wish the esthetician had shown me all of the colours available, as I ended up choosing a colour for my manicure I was only somewhat happy with. The reason I have only given this salon two stars in my review is because within two days of my services my manicure was chipping off. I was not doing anything strenous with my hands, eg. typing or gardening, and I use SpaRitual products at home and know that their polishes usually last a week on my fingers without chipping. This leaves me to believe the application by the esthetician was the issue. Further, my pedicure starting chipping five days later. Pedicures always last for weeks on me. For $140 for both services I expected a high quality 'product' from Rapunzel's. Read Less
